The OG Tomb Raider games have lots of levels now that can be beaten super quick. The Temple of Xian in TR2 (a really long level) has a really insane glitch that can results in the level being beaten in like 2 mins
*TR2* *Oil* *rig* level has those glass windows you can side jump through💃 the *Deck* level has a spot from the boxes next to the stern of the ship where you can *jump* into the cave that leads up to the top.
I love the Dishonored one cause it doesn't even feel like a skip or an exploit. Jumping on a train and riding it to escape is perfectly in character and makes complete sense in the setting.
Super Mario Bros. 2(American); Level 6-3: Right at the beginning, to your left is a wall right over some quicksand. If you can sink into the sand enough to go under the wall, and jump rapidly enough to keep from sinking all the way, on the other side is a door that goes almost directly to the boss.
Duke Nukem 3D has "Hotel Hell" (E3L8) which can be entirely skipped by (at the very start of the level) making a 180° turn and throwing a pipe bomb through the crack in the wall, detonating it will reveal a path to the (regular) Exit button.
I simultaneously do and don't understand speedrunning. On the one hand, it's showing complete knowledge and mastery of the game. On the other "I love this game, let's play as little of it as possible"
Just a little thing I have to mention is: in The Last of Us (1) in the hotel basement, where you have to start up the generator to unlock the exit door, it's possible to skip fighting the infected that are drawn by the generator's noise by making a bee-line for the exit door after turning on the generator, this can save you several minutes of fighting and also precious resources and is super useful on harder difficulties when there's a couple of Bloaters in the basement area.
Donkey Kong country mine cart mayhem…go left from the start to get transported to the end of level. Actually dkc 2 and 3 have secret warps in each level of the 1st world too.
I was hoping to see The Sewer level from The Mask, where you can use one of the moves to extend hitbox and hit the exit on the other side of the wall as soon as you start.
Mario Kart 64: Wario's Stadium. The little bumps at the start of the course can let you skip over the wall and jump to the tail end of the course, finishing each lap in about a 1/5 of the time they would normally take.
You can finish the whole game in two worlds since the villain is right there and even tho he’s strong the civilians if angered by the villain will attack him and they will destroy him
first MGS peace walker tank battle. lethal: a single shot from the M42 (NLAW) rocket launcher. nonlethal: throw a bunch of smoke grenades at the tank. blast the fulton-rocket launcher at it to catch the guards. throw another smoke grenade at your feet then place the electro magnetic net. wait till the tank gets stunned and activate the net to see the tank fly away to your base.
In Hit and Run the Kodos and Kang race also becomes a cake walk if you spend time exploring the roads from the Quik-E-Mart where the race starts to the ending point at Duff's Brewery. There are a LOAD of shortcuts to take advantage of that they don't use. Plus, Homer's car for this race is the best vehicle in your arsenal as well as it's super fast. Once you have learned how it handles and know your shortcuts, the race becomes so easy even without cheat codes enabled.
*TR3* *Lost* *City* of *Tinnos* you can angle jump from an alcove on the 2nd floor to a ledge that leads into the locked *Uli* room. This allows you to keep the first *Uli* key you find and thereby you don't have to waste any time getting the 2nd *Uli* key, because you already have one 💃
You can practically skip most outdoor levels in Super Mario World by just flying over them as Caped Mario. Most notably Outrageous in the Special world. Blue Yoshi can destroy other levels, including Tubular and Awesome.
Someone would need to verify this for me, because I've had a different experience each time. But the London Underground level of Shadowman had tunnels and passages you could explore for hours (and I have, some of the best in the game) but the whole thing is entirely optional... the boss you're after is found through a door two corners from the start point.
American McGee's Alice. There was one zone that was essentially an underground tunnel that forced you to run down the length in essentially a "run-&-gun on rails" through a gauntlet of nasty guys OR if you were like me and checked the tiny area you start in, you'd find a Mirror Darkly that turned you invisible so you could just "run" and bypass everyone. The Mirror Darkly lasted just long enough for the entire zone, provided that you didn't stop to look around.
first stage in perfect dark, if you open the first door below where you start and then go up again and 'fall' down on top of the door you can duck and clip through the entire building, and land where the level ends, easy mode dosn't have many objectives which means that the level can be completed in like 17 seconds
Was thinking of the dataDyne - defection level from Perfect Dark and how if you angle yourself right, you can drop from the roof of the building all the way down to the elevator you are trying to reach in just a few seconds to finish the level
Crash Bandicoot Warped has a level called Hot Coco which has a glitch that allows you to get the platinum trophy and finish the level in just a couple of seconds (as you can get past the nitro boxes and straight to the finish).
In the original Armored Core there is a mission where you are meant to protect an AC part (or weapon, I forget) from waves of enemies that are trying to steal it, but if you prefer you can immediately turn around and steal the part yourself. You officially fail the mission, but you keep the part and there are no serious consequences.
OG version of the Spyro games back on the PS1 all have a good handful of these... off the top of my head, you can use the swim-in-air glitch in 2's first hub world, Summer Forest, to skip literally ALL the levels by swimming right into the hole you drop into in order to fight the first boss.
Not really a "level" but in Resident Evil 5 you can skip the whole ass final fight with Wesker if you run behind him after he does a certain animation. It'll tell you to push a certain button that triggers a cut scene sequence and bam, its over.
Omg on sonic that level was supposed to be longer? I always unknowingly used that one... Sonic is fast and doesn't have time to wait for that lift. Lol
Regarding the Tomb Raider one, I was wondering where the heck some of the props seen in the Tomb Raider DLC for Power Wash Simulator came from. Now I know, lol.
Similarly to that the Simpsons Hit and Run Mission in the last Misson of level 1, where you have to race Mr Smithers to Burns Manor you can just use the Stonecutters Tunnel, as this is a common speedrunning technique PS I am not a Speedrunner I just know that trick is there as I did play this game a lot.
What culture should make a cards against humanity type game called Uncultured and it should have the video title as the center card and the entries as the white cards
You can "beat" Kid Chameleon within a few minutes by teleporting to the final level via the first or second stage. Still have to beat the final boss, though.
I remember the Tomb Raider 3 Thames' Wharf trick being discussed by the developer in a Playstation Underground demo disc; so maybe the developer wasn't chewed out for letting it pass. =P Great vidieo; lots of great info here presented in an engaging order.
Sad to know the Security Hall is fixed in the GameCube version. Managing to get an A rank was hard enough, so it would be so helpful for the challenge versions of the level.
That Dishonored level I just ran passed all the guards on the street I moved by too fast for them to stop me & as soon as I reached the boat it continued the story as if I wasnt being chased. 🤣
It's not a secret for a speedrun, speedrunning wasn't a thing back then (how would it be without youtube or twitch or whatever?!). It's just a shortcut, put there intentionally.
Speedrunning involves exploiting any and all tricks and bugs available in the game to get to the ending as fast as possible, correct? Well, using that philosophy, I beat the game Jedi Knight in less than a second. There's a button on the title screen labeled "Credits" and when you click that, it skips the entire game and takes you right to the ending sequence. I mean, you're supposed to skip as much of the game as possible, right? I skipped the entire game! Do I win the award for fastest speedrunner ever?
The OG Tomb Raider games have lots of levels now that can be beaten super quick. The Temple of Xian in TR2 (a really long level) has a really insane glitch that can results in the level being beaten in like 2 mins
yeah , the classic tomb raider games have great speed run values !
*TR2* *Oil* *rig* level has those glass windows you can side jump through💃 the *Deck* level has a spot from the boxes next to the stern of the ship where you can *jump* into the cave that leads up to the top.

I simultaneously do and don't understand speedrunning. On the one hand, it's showing complete knowledge and mastery of the game. On the other "I love this game, let's play as little of it as possible"
Well you're running the game pretty much every time you're playing games in general....you're not really playing jt as "little as possible"
It's also a general rule to never speedrun a game that you like.
Why would you want to skip GlaDOS' sass? It's one of the best parts.
aint no one got time for that mess son
Donkey Kong country mine cart mayhem…go left from the start to get transported to the end of level.
Actually dkc 2 and 3 have secret warps in each level of the 1st world too.
No mention of Super Mario Bros. 1 and jumping past the the first level stage end flag then just warping your way to the final levels.
Real ones remember the last one from "Playstation Underground Cool Moves"
I was hoping to see The Sewer level from The Mask, where you can use one of the moves to extend hitbox and hit the exit on the other side of the wall as soon as you start.
Mario Kart 64: Wario's Stadium. The little bumps at the start of the course can let you skip over the wall and jump to the tail end of the course, finishing each lap in about a 1/5 of the time they would normally take.
4:30 you just won. This was the best quote ever 🤝
Tomb raider 3 jungle level, you can bypass the level by jumping onto some tree tops above the quick sand and running long them to the end of the level
20 seconds is typically all I can last with Lara Croft, anyway.
What a strange comment.
You should see a doctor about that.
I will admit I am more of a Tomb 1&2 fan ( hate the triple door puz in 3) why waste your time degrading me lady.
Is sex joke?
What's a sex joke? Common place.
Thank you for mentioning sonic adventure 2. I feel like I'm the only one who remembers this game
You can finish the whole game in two worlds since the villain is right there and even tho he’s strong the civilians if angered by the villain will attack him and they will destroy him
ive played dishonored 2 at least twice and im a low chaos/stealth gamer ... never even thought about riding the train ... so thanks for that!!
The Dishonerd one is brilliant 👏🏻 never knew that, but I am going to try it 😀
first MGS peace walker tank battle.
lethal: a single shot from the M42 (NLAW) rocket launcher.
nonlethal: throw a bunch of smoke grenades at the tank. blast the fulton-rocket launcher at it to catch the guards.

I typically don't like speedrun tactics as they involve breaking the game but these I rather enjoyed.
Someone would need to verify this for me, because I've had a different experience each time. But the London Underground level of Shadowman had tunnels and passages you could explore for hours (and I have, some of the best in the game) but the whole thing is entirely optional... the boss you're after is found through a door two corners from the start point.
Just started the video but i'm going to predict that The End from MGS3 is gonna be on this list
And then there's Loom, where you can complete the entire game in essentially seconds by unmaking the Loom at the very start of the game.
Was thinking of the dataDyne - defection level from Perfect Dark and how if you angle yourself right, you can drop from the roof of the building all the way down to the elevator you are trying to reach in just a few seconds to finish the level
More speedrunning inspired video lists, please!
Also in Dishonored 2 in Jindosh Mansion you can reach Jindosh in less than a minute.
Crash Bandicoot Warped has a level called Hot Coco which has a glitch that allows you to get the platinum trophy and finish the level in just a couple of seconds (as you can get past the nitro boxes and straight to the finish).

Myst. I figured out how to speed run it before it was a thing
Lol
You are amazing! I love your videos so much! Keep up the good work!!!!!
10. sounds like a programing error.
9. water stages are annoying.
7. that's quite fast.
Regarding the Tomb Raider one, I was wondering where the heck some of the props seen in the Tomb Raider DLC for Power Wash Simulator came from. Now I know, lol.
Really surprised that "On Top Of The World" from Hitman III didn't make the list as that level can be completed in under 10 seconds.
“That’s not thinking with portals, that’s making portals your bitch.” 🤣🤣🤣
Similarly to that the Simpsons Hit and Run Mission in the last Misson of level 1, where you have to race Mr Smithers to Burns Manor you can just use the Stonecutters Tunnel, as this is a common speedrunning technique
PS I am not a Speedrunner I just know that trick is there as I did play this game a lot.
I remember that shortcut on scrap brain zone! Exploration pays off!
What culture should make a cards against humanity type game called Uncultured and it should have the video title as the center card and the entries as the white cards
You can "beat" Kid Chameleon within a few minutes by teleporting to the final level via the first or second stage. Still have to beat the final boss, though.
Woah! Mind blown.
That game needs a remake.
@@traviscooper2205 I'd certainly play it. 😊
I remember the Tomb Raider 3 Thames' Wharf trick being discussed by the developer in a Playstation Underground demo disc; so maybe the developer wasn't chewed out for letting it pass. =P
Great vidieo; lots of great info here presented in an engaging order.
Every game can be beaten in seconds. Never said how many seconds that is
Came to see if the OG Quake speed runs appeared, with one level done in 4 seconds. I was let down.
Sad to know the Security Hall is fixed in the GameCube version. Managing to get an A rank was hard enough, so it would be so helpful for the challenge versions of the level.
2:39 ❤ ❤😂❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤❤😍🥰😘🥰😍😘🥰😘😍🥰😘🥰😘😍🥰😘😍😍🥰😍😍😍😘😘😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😘🥰🥰😍😘🥰😍😘🥰😍😘🥰😍😍😍😘🥰😍😘🥰😍😘🥰😍😘🥰😍😘 3:52 3:53 3:54 3:55 3:56 3:57
My favorite Sonic levels in the first game was Labyrinth Zone.
I feel so much better that i Actually beat Kang and Kodos on my own without this tip lol 😆
Resident evil 4. You can kill the lil guy by shooting bazooka
That Dishonored level I just ran passed all the guards on the street I moved by too fast for them to stop me & as soon as I reached the boat it continued the story as if I wasnt being chased. 🤣
What song is that playing during the video?
I am pretty sure the first level from Tomb Raider three can be beaten early thanks to glitches as well
Tomb Raider, Donkey Kong Country.
I remember finding the secret shortcut in Sonic as a kid not knowing it was a secret for a speed run.
It's not a secret for a speedrun, speedrunning wasn't a thing back then (how would it be without youtube or twitch or whatever?!). It's just a shortcut, put there intentionally.
Where is the Hitman 3 Dubai mission.....?
Wasn't simpsons based more on crazy taxi
