I have been a Jeep owner since 1996 and moved from a Jeep 392 to the Bronco Raptor. I have no regrets, and all i can say, whichever you choose, you won't be disappointed. They are both amazing machines, so get the one that feel's right for you' and enjoy the amazing machine.
As a person who has driven both vehicles, i have to say, i was really impressed with the bronco raptor! It seemed to have all of the capabilities that any off-roader should have. Yes there is no V8 in that car, however, it’s still a great choice! When choosing between the two, I decided to take the wrangler. Why you may ask? While the wrangler is not meant for super high speed off roading, it’s still one of the most, if not, most capable rock crawlers ever built. Although the Raptor does have better looking specs that will get lots of heads turned. That wrangler sound just ignites the look from everybody around you when driving it. Also, the interior on the wrangler in my opinion, feels less cheap and more luxurious, especially with the upgraded screen for the 2024 version, and that gorgeous red leather interior that’s heated and ventilated. Although driving the bronco is awesome and much smoother, I would still say that the wrangler is more fun to drive. Not just because of the sound and power, but being able to experience such speeds and sounds with the doors and top off. Many will also argue the look of the bronco as well, some people love it, others, not so much. If ford put a Coyote 5.0 in Bronco, then i’m sure many more individuals would move on from the 392 to the bronco; as they would be able to use that power off road. Great Review!
Yes, but nobody will ever think that sound is coming from the Jeep as it looks just like a regular Jeep. They are looking for a muscle car when they hear it. Jeep really missed the mark, but it making it look different.
I believe most people who review the wrangler miss one very important point: they always use "ride comfort" as the be-all-end-all to rate that vehicle, and it is so off the mark. First off, the JL is not uncomfortable on the road. It's actually pretty good. Secondly, the jeep gives you that special occasion feel when you approach it and drive it, and it's a feeling that is beyond explanations. Only certain vehicles give me that feel: a wrangler, a G wagon, and a Porsche 911.
I have the Braptor. I came from an F150 Raptor. I know people think they are overpriced, but most people don't realize what's going in that truck. I has a bigger rear axle than the F150 Raptor. It has the same suspension as the Raptor 37 from 21-23, and of course 37" tires. It has all the hero switches and extra drive modes. Sway bar disconnect, and lockers which doesn't come on any other trim. Not to mention the reinforced frame and extra roll bar enforcements. There's a lot there that most can't appreciate or even realize because they can't see past the price tag. And it's definitely NOTHING LIKE A RANGER RAPTOR !🤣
We recently changed from a Wrangler and Gladiator (Rubicon models) to a Bronco Raptor. Agree with everything you're saying, it's literally the same Jeep but with the V8. The Raptor feels special and exclusive, as it should with these kinds of price tags.
Too each their own. I think the bronco looks hideous, and I don't choose my off-road rigs based on their interior comfort and on road ride. Of course, I actually go off road every weekend, so there is that.
It is a 6.4 392, not a 6.2. I haven't been in either, but they are both built for two different purposes. The Jeep is built for on-road high speed and off-road low speed rock crawling. The Bronco is a high speed baja SUV. This is comparing apples to oranges, but a good comparison of the two. I definitely feel like you guy's were a little more bias towards the Bronco.
@@kubeanie18 i can`t understand: are you looking for a 4x4 vehicle or for a sports car? If you're looking for a sport car, go Corvette. If you prefer a rock crawler, go Jeep. Greetings from Costa Rica.
I totally agree with you guys. I took a beautiful 392 Wrangler out on a test drive for a couple of hours about a month ago and while the sound was amazing it definitely felt like just a fun toy. I may be a bit bias as I own a Bronco myself, but the Raptor feels like a huge upgrade from the regular Bronco trims while the 392 like you guys said feels like they just stuck a V8 engine in a Rubicon Wrangler.🤷
It’s too bad you guys missed putting the 392 into off-road + (I.e., sports mode) changes the car materially, shifts bang off much quicker and the engine mapping also changes
You won’t get the sound of a V8, but with a ZFG Racing tune and a cold air intake the Braptor will make 550 WHP on e50. Takes care of the speed comparison. The Braptor is the best off-roader you can buy IMO.
So you are saying if you don’t mind not having a warranty on your 100k Bronco it will make a little more power on a fuel that’s not available at any gas station? That sounds great!. I will say they are comparing apples to oranges. One vehicle is a high speed desert runner and the other is a proper off road vehicle that can tackle almost any obstacle, however is not designed to go fast on sand and rough trails. However 80% of all off roading doesn’t call for high speed on sand and bumps. However most off-roading is on narrow trails with lots of rocks and steep hills. For sure the Bronco Raptor is a better Mall Crawler and Clout vehicle. Also pretty hard to take the reviewer’s serious when they don’t even know what size the engine is in the Jeep. One last thing the Wrangler will absolutely drag the Bronco from a dig or a roll hands down.

I’ve had the jeep 392 and I bronco raptor I like bronco raptor better mainly because it’s so darn comfortable and on road manners are incredible the 392 is fun but I do long trips and then real long trips in the back country off-road towing a modified off-road teardrop trailer the bronco works great, it’s a little bit wider and easier to get pinstriped then the jeep but it is a blast to drive especially when you set your own mode on the R button you can set your exhaust tone how you want the steering wheel to feel suspension track control off comes to life. Either one you can’t go wrong but for me it was the driver fatigue on long trips, the jeep 392 low in torque is amazing especially off-road, The only thing I’m not sure about is long-term reliability on the bronco raptor.
Very good comparison. I think it is all a matter of preference since they are both close in performance and price. We own both a basic Wrangler Sport and a Bronco Badlands and as far as driving on the road goes the Bronco rides better with IFS. The Badlands is equivalent to the Rubicon with lockers and sway bar disconnect.

I’ve driven both the 392 and the Bronco raptor. I now own a Bronco raptor. It’s just so much more comfortable on long drives and has about 6in more elbow room than the 392. I wanted the 392 to go in the garage with my charger scat pack to match but the Bronco raptor was just so much more comfortable.
I’ll take the Braptor. I can’t stand cylinder deactivation in the Jeep and I think the Raptor just looks cooler, better daily, and a better high speed off roader.
The Braptor comes with a garbage steering rack. The 392 comes with a garbage transfer case. The 392 can be a true off-road monster and let you wheel; the Rubicon, Sand Hollow, Moab and the San Juan’s. The Braptor is going to be a lot more limited, ifs is great until it isn’t.
Wrangler 392 is a better hardcore off-roader and for that matter any Wrangler is a better hardcore offroader because of the solid front axle. The bronco Raptor is a better Baja style vehicle but then again the F-150 Raptor or the RAM TRX is also a superior Baja style vehicle. To that point, if you want Baja type driving, get an F-150 Raptor, F-150 Raptor R, or a RAM TRX or RAM RHO and if you want the ultimate rock crawler, get the Wrangler 392 or any Rubicon. Last but not least, if you're like 90% of the people that buy these and they won't spend any time off-road, just get the bronco Raptor as it will be more comfortable on road.

We have driven quite a few broncos up mountains now, as well as a few wranglers. Broncos are far better out of the box but the solid axles in the wrangler is the way to go when heavily modifying for crawling.
@@PerformanceOnWheels As an avid off roader for many years, I can say from my own personal experience and observations. The new Broncos that attempt off road excursions with us either break the undercarriage or tear off the wide Bronco fenders. There are numerous videos on You Tube showing Lite Brite, with their fully modified Raptor, taking drive arounds, to avoid serious obstacles that Jeeps traverse to avoid BODY DAMAGE. They also discuss the broken WEAK components under the Ford. Should you choose to do any serious off roading the stock Jeep will destroy the Bronco. OTOH should you choose to go to the drag strip the 392 will eat your lunch! Either way the Jeep in stock form wins! If you want a serious shock, run both into a car wash and wear a raincoat in the Bronco. Of course you didn't mention the engine problems Ford is having with this Raptor did we.........................
@@XXPS60 ...exactly. Reporting here from Norcal. I know someone that has a 24' Raptor and he pointed out that what he was most impressed with is that he could go over a curb. A curb...He seriously said that, no b.s.
@@XXPS60 so I checked out the Lite Brite videos, and they say that the Bronco Raptor in stock form can hang with, and even smoke super modified wranglers on the trails they drive on.
@@PerformanceOnWheels If you should choose to really evaluate the Bronco off road................. Be sure to take a trash bag to pick up parts you lose following the Jeep. Usually the first thing to go is the HUGE WIDE flares on the side are torn off.
Also look at their history............ Anyone that gives them something is the beast at the time. They didn't give them the Bronco but rest assured there are incentives or they wouldn't be in it..................
Lmao. Ok Guys. How much did Ford pay you. lol. The 392 tears of the bronco all day long everywhere street trout whatever give me a break. Laugh my ass off.
@@PerformanceOnWheelsThat is an absolutely absurd statement! You shouldn’t be doing these reviews. You’re telling me that a Rubicon 392 is the same as any other wrangler except for the fact that it has a V-8 engine? That is absurd. Different suspension, different gears, different axles, different exhaust system, Different tires, and wheels, different interior and exterior features, etc. are you confusing the difference between a Rubicon X and the 392? Again that statement is absurd
Everything you mentioned in that statement comes with the fact it has a v8… it got a different zf 8 speed transmission because it got a v8… the suspension is the same actually as the rubicon just mounted in the different spot so they could fit a v8. Axles are different because well, it goes into a full time 4x4 system because it has a v8.. the only big changes over a rubicon that make it completely different is the fact it has a v8. Which is once again not a bad thing. But out of the box, the Bronco is a superior off roader in our opinion. Yes it has bigger wheels and tires. You can put those on any wrangler. Still 2 inches smaller than what you can find over on the Bronco.
@@PerformanceOnWheelsAgain you’re wrong. It is similar to the Rubicon ax not just the Rubicon. Furthermore, you’re even wrong about the height with the tire change. I know for a fact. I have a 24 392 Rubicon. I switched to the K02 37 x 13.5. Height difference between those two tires and actuality is just a little over 1 inch. And the 37 x 13.5 is the same dimensionally in height as the 37 x 12.5, which is on the bronco. As far as your assessment of the bronco as a superior off-roader , you are in a Very small minority that hold that opinion. No doubt, it’s better on the road and highway, but it’s definitely not a better off road than the 392. I will give you, it depends upon the type of off roading you’re doing. If I had to have one vehicle to drive every day in all conditions, I would pick the bronco raptor. However, with having other vehicles to drive, I’d pick the 392 Rubicon all day long. The 392 Rubicon is like a true sports car and comparison to an imitation. Like comparing a Porsche 911 to a Mazda Miata. Come back and talk to me, when the suspension of the bronco is strengthened and they put a 302 V8 under the hood.
I don't want either because I don't need a race Bronco or JEEP. I think they are cool but as a dedicated overlander I'm going to pass and spend that much money on the INIOS or a Land Cruiser.
lol. I’ve owned 6 G Cher., 1 Cher., 1 CJ7, and my 24 Rub. 392. But, thx for sharing all your “knowledge”. Broncos are sitting and waiting for engine replacements, in addition to a myriad of other mechanical problems, and you want to talk better. That’s just for starters. I can get a $20-$23k disc off MSRP on a 24 Raptor. Why do you think that is? It’s not because they’re so good, that’s for sure!!! 🤣 I test drove two of them. The Raptor is a dog as far as acceleration and power, and my Rubicon seats are much more comfortable. Raptor, for all the $$$ ugly interior, no power seats, hidden windows controls. No manual 4wd shifter - cmon son! Read the other reviews. 90% are negative. Lmfao
To the author, who now I mysteriously can’t reply to: Show me the bill of sale. Lmao. Do yourself a favor and do some research before you start spouting off. There are only 450 392 Rubicons left in inventory at this point. 450 nationwide! The best you might find at any of the dealerships that have one of them is maybe a $10k disc. Now go look at the Ford bronco raptor. There are thousands and thousands on lots. Even with $20,000 discount they can’t be sold.
I do all the marketing for the inventory at the dealership that sold it… who also has 3 large ford stores. I’m very up to date with my knowledge on our inventory. I’m not saying broncos are not discounted. But we could not sell that 392 for the life of us. I believe it ended up going at around 290 days of sitting on our lot for 18k off sticker. The issue with the Bronco Raptor is there building to many of them vs the ammount of people that can afford a 90k vehicle. If you actually look close at this video you can see all the cob webs on the wrangler. Not sure why it took so long to sell, I think they’re sweet!
100k for jeep that they should have put the hellcat engine in it for that price 😒😒 a 392 is only worth a few thousand bucks out the salvage yard and ford's resale value is crap and reliability has never been Ford tough 😂😂😂
To the author again: you claim that the 24 Wrangler that you reviewed sat on the lot for over a year. It looks like your review came out three months ago. Since the earliest of these didn’t arrive on dealer lots until Aug 2023, you’re telling me it just so happened that this particular one hit the lot on the first days of release and sat there until Sept of 24. lol. No other dealer in the country has sat on a 392 Rubicon that long. In fact when I bought mine in September 2024 and wanted a white one, there were only four within a 500 mile radius. Nothing you’re saying is believable.
We actually had one of the first ones in the US! We were allocated it from Chrysler for being one of the top dealers. We also got 2 special edition challengers and chargers for the same reason around the same time frame. I have no reason to lie what would that do for me?
we can all agree you guys have absolutely no idea what your really talking about in this video. 6.2L wrangler? it’s a scatpack motor. 6.4. semi knowledgeable people watch this and can tell you guys did not honestly study the vehicles.
The rebuttal would be, if you are going to point the finger at someone for making a verbal error not a knowledge error. The correction you give should not be worded in such a way that, now, because one item was miss spoke,it the entire video is wrong. In addition, scat pack is a trim. The 6.4 is not solely found in a scat pack. So stating it is a scat pack motor is not correct. Stating it is the same motor found in a scat pack would be correct. Greatly appreciate the comment and pointing out the error. That aspect does challenge us to do better.

I like them both but I think the longevity of the 392 will last longer.
I would agree with that
@@PerformanceOnWheels It won't have to last too long as the Broncos are self destructing before they ever see any rough terrain. The motors are trash.
The Ford Bronco without a doubt is a better vehicle
If only you were able to take them off road. Testing these on the road is like evaluating a steak while looking at it in a store
That would be cool! We dont even have off road trails within 200 miles of us
@@PerformanceOnWheels If you should choose to really evaluate the Bronco off road.................
No one pays us a dime, wrangler was nothing but a wrangler with a v8. And there’s nothing wrong with that.
* Rubicon X
I don't want either because I don't need a race Bronco or JEEP. I think they are cool but as a dedicated overlander I'm going to pass and spend that much money on the INIOS or a Land Cruiser.
A side by side comparison of two very capable off-road vehicles, and they never left the road.
Hmmmm?
95% of them never will in there lives
The bronco just looks so bad ass.
The sound doesn't make it less of a girls vehicle 😂😂
Raptor all day!
💯💯💯
@@PerformanceOnWheels Mechanic all night!
The Raptor makes that Jeep look tiny.
Right
Lmfao
The wrangler 392 in this video was just under 20k off sticker and sat on the lot for just under a year before selling from this video.
Just like we also have 2 hellcat jailbreaks that are approaching a year old and extremely discounted off sticker
And you didn’t even take them off road!?!? Two thumbs down lol
We can’t take 2 vehicles that are available for sale to customers 4 hours away to the closest off road traill lol. Would love to though!!
Sry Raptor looks better
Fucked Over Rebuilt Dodge!!!! Forgive Our Reasearch Department!!!
Lol! That Jeep is just a Rubicon with a Challenger motor. So lame. It’s basically faster than the Bronco, and that’s about it.😅
Over priced period
6.4. semi knowledgeable people watch this and can tell you guys did not honestly
study the vehicles.
@@PerformanceOnWheels Obviously these NERDS know nothing about off road capabilities or they would know the Bronco is trash compared to the Jeep!
lol bronco raptor is so slow compared, and they are selling for 20k under msrp
This wrangler is actually listed much further under MSRP than the Bronco and has had no leads on it for the last 5 months it’s been in our inventory.
@@PerformanceOnWheels Next you will tell us how the Bronco is selling so FAST! Check inventory of Broncos across America and get back to us................... The Jeeps not selling are the ELECTRIC wannabes..........................
Fool's
Some poor bloke is gonna buy that 392 with all those wot pulls with less than 50 miles on the engine 🤣🤣😭😭
Wow the raptor looks so much better, bigger and it actually looks like an SUV and not a trolley army car. Now let's compare v6 to v6 no comparison 😂. I have a raptor on 24 inch wheels wrapped in 37 inch tires and I'm a menace on the road. I'm an ego bruiser. The look on the jeep owners faces are priceless 😂😂😂😂😂. Honestly they slapped a V8 in the same dated Jeep and upped the price to compete with the KING OF THE OFF ROAD BRAPTOR
disagree with the handling and body roll of the Jeep. Normal Dodge cars are boats and these are x10 haha. its Just a normal Wrangler with a big block swap.
that raptor is not wotrh 30 000 with that engine
