      I have just ordered d3200 found a good deal in amazon i have always compared it to d5200 but soon at the end of today i have realized d5100 is just few bugs more than d3200 now i am worried did i made right choice or not and also started worrying about that swirl screen is it really helpful did i made wrong choice?

    Seriously, amazing review! I love when i find reviewers like this. Just sat infront of the camera, has ALL the facts written down, is well spoken, doesn't try making inane jokes in-between each fact (Just came from a guy who enjoyed making stupid 'WOOOO' noises after every fact), doesn't swear, comes straight to the point and sets a relaxed mood in his videos. These type of users are what make TH-cam amazing!! Thanks supersaf!!
    D3200 it is :D Altho I do wish it had the D5200 swivel screen :( Now, wheres that subscribe button.. :P

    Better to spend your money on lenses than camera bodies, bodies become archaic fast, lenses don't.

    you are correct it is 1080i at 50/60fps apologies I got that wrong. But I still think that is impressive for an advanced beginner DSLR

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    thanks, yes I have added an annotation to correct that it is 1080i at 50/60fps and not 1080p

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    That's correct, I was mistaken that it was 60p rather than 60i for 1080 but have corrected that in the annotations

    yes as far as I am aware you have full manual control, the D5100 did not. The D3200 has it too. Only thing on D3200 is you can't change the aperture in live view, you have to come out of it, change it then go back to live view. Not sure how this will be on the D5200

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    yes I have corrected this in the annotations

  • @CaptnMonch
    @CaptnMonch 11 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    oh btw, video mode is really improving on d5200, with stereo mic and selectable shutter speed and iso, characteristic only from more expensive cameras such as d7000 and canon 7D. I'm probably updating from my d5100 to a d5200 in the next months.

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes it does win in terms of specs, however it just depends on your budget and how long you are willing to wait. Prices of DSLRs usually drop a bit after the first few months once the hype dies down.

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, you are correct it is 50/60i not p, I have corrected this in the annotation. Also the D3200 has full manual controls in video, the D5100 didn't but the Nikon DSLR's after that have full manual controls

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good advice from @Sandy, if you already have the D3200 then I would stick to it for now

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    No as far as I am aware it does not had a built in focus motor, but pretty much all new Nikon lenses do so it's not a big issue I don't think

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good point, there may be a D7100 in the pipeline. Yes I didn't realise that it was 50/60i and not 50/60p. Although that it is the first Nikon DSLR to have 1080 at that frame rate.

    Thanks dude.....went for the D3200 and its awesome for its price tag

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Yes as far as I am aware. Also because the D5100 will now be discontinued and is an 18 month old camera. The D3200 is much more recent and also exceeds the D5100 in many ways

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    hey buddy, tbh as far as i am aware not having an AF motor is not a big issue as pretty much all new Nikon lenses have a built in AF motor so the camera does not need it. If you will be using older lenses then you will need it. One point to note about the D5200 is that you don't have full manual control over video so bare that in mind.

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hmm from what I understood, you are wondering if when in live view, if you switch modes do Nikon's switch off the live view? As far as I am aware no, I have a full frame D800 and switching from say Manual to Aperture priority does not switch of live view. I will be ordering the D5200 hopefully so will check and do a review

  • @11RealNeil
    @11RealNeil 10 ปีที่แล้ว +2

    D3200 is good enough for my hobby shots. I have 3 lenses 70-500, 55-210, and 28-50. Camera has an easy mode that will ask you what kind of Pic you wan to take and set itself up for you. (explaining why it's using those settings)
    At $360.00 with the 28-50mm lens, it's a great deal.

    official release date is 6th December, so most popular retailers should start stocking them depending on your location

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    You are correct, the D3200 is monaural. However in either case audio off camera isn't great, I would usually use an external mic.

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    D5200 or T4i, just depends what features between the two you like better?

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi, the D800 is a great camera (I own one myself) but it is a full-frame pro camera so it will be more complicated to use. It costs roughly around 3 times more than the D5200 but the price would depend on your location. If you want easy settings then the D5200 would be a better option.

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Good question, I would go for the D5200 based on some of the newer features and flip out screen. But the D700 has more "pro" features such as the 100% viewfinder and dual SD card slots

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hi Akshay, thanks. I would go for the D5200 as the D5100 is over a 18 months old and lacks features (e.g. full manual control in video). All the best.

  • @SuperSaf
    @SuperSaf  11 ปีที่แล้ว

    D5100 is a nice camera although it does not have full manual control over video which is a big downside for me, so I would go for the D3200. If you will not be using the DSLR for video then it's not a bad choice. Also the D5200 releases on December 6th.

    While he provides good info, I don't think this comparison was particularly necessary. Both cameras are entry level, they are designed to be user friendly whilst still having the capacity to take great photos (and videos for that matter). The market they are aimed at is beginners and 1st time DSLR owners. That market isn't likely to care much about autofocus points and metering sensors. And anyone who does care about those things isn't likely to be buying an entry level camera. Point is, they are both great cameras, and most beginners would be perfectly satisfied with either. And while some specs of the D5200 sound better on paper, most of them don't really matter unless you are a professional.

      well actually I'm new to DSLR and I found all of his info useful. It's better to have more than less. This info might me useful to professionals who have studied DSLRs for a long time but still don't have the money to invest a fullframe or sth similar.

      Trung VolT Hi, I have found these sites helpful. Of course there are many others. Some are reviews, others let you compare specs to several models. Just Google these key words to get there.
      'cnet' 'kenrockwell' 'cameradecision' 'ephotozine' ' cameralabs ' 'photographylife' 'snapsort'
      I'm looking to get the D3200 Body and then the 18-200mm 3.5-5.6 lens. I think that would be a pretty good combo with a rather fast lens.

    Like what nikoliciv said, don't worry about outdating, worry about outgrowing it. Hobbyist or people who want to get a little more serious in photography also ask these questions and normally many of us suggest something that gives you manual control. The D5100 is okay, but its more of a gimmick. But if you really want a camera that you believe you will use alot, pick between the D3200 or the D7100. Both cameras are great.

    I have just read both reviews. Whilst the D5200 boasts some better features than the D3200, I will probably go for the D3200. The main reason is the "better" 39 point autofocus on the D5200. In the review it says it slows down the autofocus which could be quite annoying especially if you are using burst mode.

    Ok.
    When you're considering body vs. lens
    Think about this, your camera's sensor is the digital film, ok... the only job the sensor does is to capture light, and it's million shapes and colors.
    All sensors in new Dslr's does a really good job at it.
    Now the camerabody stores some really cool stuff like the Image processer and other that judges how many fps's you can shoot, the buffer.
    How many fps you get in video are also judged by the camerabody
    Now... take the image sensor as your eyes, and the lens as the window you're looking out of.
    Now, a bad lens is bacally a dirty window, you aren't able to see very clearly though the window, this is how the Dslr works, bad glass= bad image quality, even with 1.000.000 megapixels
    Now take for instance, a old Dslr with some awesome, L or N glass, super super clear glass
    you're going to get amazing results.
    Glass over Body ;)

    Hello, my Friend, I find your video, the way you present your subject and your personality quite good. In fact, you are one of the best I have ever seen. Your diction and your pronunciation is also noteworthy. The comparison you made tells me a lot. The swivel LED that the D5200 has is really important. But the difference in price is also to reckon with. I need a DSLR mainly for video. Do the cameras have any great difference in quality in the video they make?

    The D3200 definitely has and as the D5200 is newer than the D3200 it should have it too

    D3200, D5100 does not have manual control over video, big let down for me

    If you are looking at buying your first camera it is really a matter of ease of use, price and longevity. All the beginner models (3100, 3200, 5100 and 5200) have a very similar beginner friendly set up. They are super easy to learn to use, so you have to decide for yourself what you want. if you are going for video or being able to blow up pics, spend the extra $ and go with the 3200 or 5200. If you aren't sure, go cheaper first and spend your cash on good lenses because they never out-date.

    If price isn't an issue then D5200, as it will be better for expanding your knowledge
