thanks for watching. Interesting point, the auto-bracketing was also on the D5000 so pretty sure it will continue to the D5200 as it did with the D5100
Seriously, amazing review! I love when i find reviewers like this. Just sat infront of the camera, has ALL the facts written down, is well spoken, doesn't try making inane jokes in-between each fact (Just came from a guy who enjoyed making stupid 'WOOOO' noises after every fact), doesn't swear, comes straight to the point and sets a relaxed mood in his videos. These type of users are what make TH-cam amazing!! Thanks supersaf!!
D3200 it is :D Altho I do wish it had the D5200 swivel screen :( Now, wheres that subscribe button.. :P
Agree!
So helpful! Thank you so much. The comparison closed caption was great. My 13 year old has worked to save money for a nice SLR and this presentation was easy enough for her to understand.
Great to hear, thank you for your comment :-)
Out of those 3, I would say D3200 overall (price, more megapixels, good user interface). That's my opinion, others may differ.
The nikon d3200 is great for beginners and the 5200 is also great.
I have just ordered d3200 found a good deal in amazon i have always compared it to d5200 but soon at the end of today i have realized d5100 is just few bugs more than d3200 now i am worried did i made right choice or not and also started worrying about that swirl screen is it really helpful did i made wrong choice?
I got D3200 for Xmas and love it! Was impressed w/ detail and kit lens is great.
I really enjoyed this video too as you are very organized and plainspoken on what each body does. Thanks for doing it!
Thanks for watching, glad you found it helpful
Straight into it, you engage the listener straight away, good clear delivery, no fluff. Great video - props bro!
I just started a small Film & Video production company, and thinking to buy the 3200.
I appreciate you, you are a great help. Going to the store for info is somewhat a pain, they tend to sale you a camera with commission in their mind.
Thank you.
Juan
Thanks buddy, the feedback means a lot :-)
thanks for watching, glad it helped :-)
I got D5200 about a month ago, im pretty happy with it. Still getting to know it
I really prayed that someone compared 3200 vs 5200, and luckily found this video
Thank you very much.
one of the best review videos nowadays, everyone is making the clown and stuff, congrats. And i'm subscribing,
thanks for the feedback. I'm currently aiming to do both, a lot of my camera vids have been popular. But lets see :-)
That's the way to make video's of comparison's. Everything was in detail. Thank you, it was really helpful!
Thank you, really appreciate the feedback :-)
Great comparison review, looking to buy my first DSLR,with the D5200 at around £400 now I think I'll go for that
Great video! This is the perfect review comparing D3200 and D5200
Great review. You were right about waiting a few months. Just ordered a D5200 with 18-55mm lens and an additional 55-200mm lens from Global Digital Store for £590.
Explanation regarding the difference between these two cameras is very good, and in fact short & sweet....
The Dead Immortal :(
You are correct, thanks for pointing that out
I bought the D3200 a couple of weeks ago. I love it!
I am going for D5200 with AF-S 18-105mm VR Kit Lens!
Thank you so much for making this video. Helped me alot..
Just recently bought a D3200. Previously used a Canon T3. Looking to to video with a mic input. So far, very happy with the upgrade. Love the MP upgrade.
Thanks dude.....went for the D3200 and its awesome for its price tag
Great video friend. Saved so much time form web site comparisons. Really good. Need more.
Thanks, you're an awesome supporter :-) Really appreciate it!
Good advice from @Sandy, if you already have the D3200 then I would stick to it for now
yes as far as I am aware you have full manual control, the D5100 did not. The D3200 has it too. Only thing on D3200 is you can't change the aperture in live view, you have to come out of it, change it then go back to live view. Not sure how this will be on the D5200
Thanks so much for your video it was exactly what I was looking for to help me with my purchase decision. I've opted for the D3200 and now I can rest assured with my purchase now in lieu of waiting for the D5200's release and potential price drop down the road.
Yes as far as I am aware. Also because the D5100 will now be discontinued and is an 18 month old camera. The D3200 is much more recent and also exceeds the D5100 in many ways
oh btw, video mode is really improving on d5200, with stereo mic and selectable shutter speed and iso, characteristic only from more expensive cameras such as d7000 and canon 7D. I'm probably updating from my d5100 to a d5200 in the next months.
Does the D5200 have the same on board user/hint tips guide as the D3200?
Nice work. Very helpful comparison. You nailed it.
you are correct it is 1080i at 50/60fps apologies I got that wrong. But I still think that is impressive for an advanced beginner DSLR
Yes it does win in terms of specs, however it just depends on your budget and how long you are willing to wait. Prices of DSLRs usually drop a bit after the first few months once the hype dies down.
Thanks Saf! Picking up the d5200 today
Good comparison of specs. Please post links of latest on field comparison of these two cameras.
Thank you for the suggestion as well with choosing or waiting for one.
Hi Akshay, thanks. I would go for the D5200 as the D5100 is over a 18 months old and lacks features (e.g. full manual control in video). All the best.
Hi, you are correct it is 50/60i not p, I have corrected this in the annotation. Also the D3200 has full manual controls in video, the D5100 didn't but the Nikon DSLR's after that have full manual controls
Thank you so much for this video I was looking for this exact video! You sir just earned yourself a subscriber.
i'm sure it will drop, most DSLRs do a few months after release
hey buddy, tbh as far as i am aware not having an AF motor is not a big issue as pretty much all new Nikon lenses have a built in AF motor so the camera does not need it. If you will be using older lenses then you will need it. One point to note about the D5200 is that you don't have full manual control over video so bare that in mind.
Better to spend your money on lenses than camera bodies, bodies become archaic fast, lenses don't.
Real talk bro do u have reason
thank you for taking your time and making this video
No as far as I am aware it does not had a built in focus motor, but pretty much all new Nikon lenses do so it's not a big issue I don't think
yes I have corrected this in the annotations
Good point, there may be a D7100 in the pipeline. Yes I didn't realise that it was 50/60i and not 50/60p. Although that it is the first Nikon DSLR to have 1080 at that frame rate.
That's correct, I was mistaken that it was 60p rather than 60i for 1080 but have corrected that in the annotations
T4i is nice, got a touch screen too. But the D3200 is a great camera and much cheaper. If you have the money and don't mind spending more thenT4i, if not D3200.
D5100 is a nice camera although it does not have full manual control over video which is a big downside for me, so I would go for the D3200. If you will not be using the DSLR for video then it's not a bad choice. Also the D5200 releases on December 6th.
official release date is 6th December, so most popular retailers should start stocking them depending on your location
Hi, the D800 is a great camera (I own one myself) but it is a full-frame pro camera so it will be more complicated to use. It costs roughly around 3 times more than the D5200 but the price would depend on your location. If you want easy settings then the D5200 would be a better option.
Ive seen the D5200 at roughly $800 recently. I forget if but dont think that was including a lense kit. Awesome video, helpful. Subscribed.
Good question, I would go for the D5200 based on some of the newer features and flip out screen. But the D700 has more "pro" features such as the 100% viewfinder and dual SD card slots
You are correct, the D3200 is monaural. However in either case audio off camera isn't great, I would usually use an external mic.
Very, very helpful video. I think I will be waiting a few more weeks and buying the 5200. Cheers!
Thank you for the info! buying my D3200 this week
D5200 or T4i, just depends what features between the two you like better?
thanks, yes I have added an annotation to correct that it is 1080i at 50/60fps and not 1080p
seems like a pretty good deal, is it a reliable retailer?
Hello, my Friend, I find your video, the way you present your subject and your personality quite good. In fact, you are one of the best I have ever seen. Your diction and your pronunciation is also noteworthy. The comparison you made tells me a lot. The swivel LED that the D5200 has is really important. But the difference in price is also to reckon with. I need a DSLR mainly for video. Do the cameras have any great difference in quality in the video they make?
Thanks a lot for the comprehensive explanation. I was in concussion between these devices. you have helped me out. thank you, God bless you.
Very informative and concise! Great setup too, thanks for the information
thank you very much< im in the process of purchasing a Nikon D3200 its exactly my price range and im sure it still takes great shots for a beginner like me
My D5200 just arrived today, got it on Ebay from Hong Kong for for $860 with free FedEx shipping, I love it! It's replacing my D40x
Got to have that swivel LCD. I'll be putting the video capabilities to the rest. Thanks for the review.
Lol an exchange offer for oneplus 5T with. D5200 brought me here, damn look at you thats ur first video im watching without a beard 🤣😂
Another great informative video Saf.
Good overall presentation, and comparison. I agree that the price is way too high considering the differences between the cameras hardly justify being double the price, especially being a beginner DSLR. I think I would rather save a little more and hold out for a D600.
yes definitely, but no doubt the D5200 will drop in price a few months after release
Bro which camera is best comparison between nikon d3200 vs d5200?
Thanks for your help , to finding out between the two best cameras.
Personally I would say D3200 and the main reason being is that it has an easier to use graphic interface which is very useful
thank you, yes plenty more videos to come :-)
Thank you for watching, i'm gald you found it useful :-)
You make great videos thanks! So glad the D5200 is a lot cheaper now, woohooo!
Very good review , straight to the point , all the facts and figures given very quick and accurate. Well done. I am going for the 5200 or possibly the newer 5300 . 10/10 review
excellent video, I have been looking for a replacement for my aging Canon G12. and now I think the D3200 would be more thna perfect! thanks man!
good explanation learnt some new things
Hi Akshay, D5200 is a newer model so will be much better (more megapixels, more auto-focus points, full manual video control)
Nice review. You made a mistake in the beginning of the review. The 24.1MP CMOS sensor of the D5200 is the Toshiba type which is the same as the one used in the D7100. The D3200 is using Nikon's own CMOS sensor hence the 24,2MP.
Hmm from what I understood, you are wondering if when in live view, if you switch modes do Nikon's switch off the live view? As far as I am aware no, I have a full frame D800 and switching from say Manual to Aperture priority does not switch of live view. I will be ordering the D5200 hopefully so will check and do a review
yes i agree, also they should have made it a bit more clear in the specs, i missed that detail
I am a bit late in the game, but I just got the d3200, up from the d80 (yup been about 5 years with that one) Just wanted to say thanks for the informative video..... Loads of useful info!
Your video was very helpful. I would have like to have also seen a bit of info on the 3200's "GUIDE" setting.
I find this video introduction ( a comparative one) to the Nikon D3200 and D5200 very useful. The gentleman is friendly yet matter of fact. He is sympathetic to the financial condition of the average Man or Woman. But his comments on the abilities and the qualities of the cameras are clear, unequivocal. Thanks for this presentation.
Hey really nice..!! Clear points & no confusion..
Helped me a lott... :)
Thank-you and cheers..!!!
Both are older cameras now, I don't think the D7000 has that much more to offer to upgrade. Something like the D600 would be more of an upgrade
I think the price will come down, all Nikons usually come slightly high (maybe to keep up with demand) then eventually lower as time goes by and they have more stock
Thank you, glad you found it useful. All the best with the D5200 :-)
Thanks for the input! You also helped me make a decision!
D3200 is good enough for my hobby shots. I have 3 lenses 70-500, 55-210, and 28-50. Camera has an easy mode that will ask you what kind of Pic you wan to take and set itself up for you. (explaining why it's using those settings)
At $360.00 with the 28-50mm lens, it's a great deal.
I loved you unbiased reviews. :)
If price isn't an issue then D5200, as it will be better for expanding your knowledge
you can not manually control exposure in video, it is always auto which is limiting for professional quality video
Hi so i am looking at buying a DSLR camera from Nikon. And i was looking at this one but also the D3200. Thing i like about the D5100, was the movable LCD screen. I heard that the D5100, was more for outdoor use,(sports, events, etc.) but i just wasnt sure which one to get. The D3200 has more megapixels, but i just didn't know which one to get. They both seem like good cameras, but i was just wondering which one you would suggest for me. And can you buy the D5200 now?
awesome comparation,
Great Work mate !!!
