Review: Nikon D3200 In this video I review the Nikon D3200 including picture / photo samples, 1080p video quality test, build quality, screen and ISO / low light performance.
Both are solid cameras, I would really look at which you like more: Canon or Nikon. You're buying into an ecosystem so look at future upgrades, lens, accessories, etc to see which is best for you.
Yur review is thfde best ive seen of all.Jumped rite back down to business n yu gave specifications for photo n video which was nice. Thanks for this review it helped me a lot.Keep makin videos!
I'd say mid range is around $1000-1500 and a high range can be $2000-5000. That's not even getting into lenses which often run into the $1000s themselves. DSLRs can get expensive.
There are big differences between mirrorless and DSLR cameras. Personally I prefer having an optical viewfinder, plus Nikon has a better range of lenses than Sony. That said the NEX-5N is a stellar camera and Sony makes several of my favorite mirrorless cameras.
That 4th to last shot across the table is epic. You should use that baby as either the opening or ending shot for every review from here on in. As you'd say, Bawse.
awesome ride, i love all your videos so much, i couldn't afford the new D3200 but for my first DSLR ever, my nikon D3100 is going to be here tomorrow, i also just picked up a zoom h1, for a setup similar to your old one, thanks for great content, i really love all your videos, and leave all of them a like, also you've been a great inspiration for me on youtube, and i'd just like to say a simple thank you :)
Nice review and i still have mine and currently using it,im very pleased with this camera, ive had mine for 6 years now at some point I'm going to do a major upgrade to a more advanced Nikon, thanks for the review.
Hey I'm looking around and say one cheap. Just wondering since it's an older camera if I should get something else. Just wanted to get your thoughts, trying to upgrade from my galaxy s9. Thank you
Thanks to you, now i'm decided! I was really confused between the D3100 and D3200. But your videos made me relize that for a begginer like me, it would be much better de D3200. Thank you, thank you!
Thanks! For subtitles it's easy, I already write out a script for my voiceover so it's just a matter of reformatting it, saving as a .txt file and uploading as a caption. As far as recording audio, I use the Blue Yeti with a pop filter into Audacity where I clean everything up, edit it down and export.
D3200 user here. Although this camera isn`t new but it is still good. And now cheaper than ever before. Have this camera for over half a year now and it doesn`t disappoint. Auto mode for quick family photos is decent enough and it`s a savior when someone like my mother wants to use it. Kit lens is good enough to learn the basics although something with lover F value would be better. Still depends on what u plan to shoot. Video mode is also nice, just don`t use too much autofocus because the focusing sounds will ruin your video if u are filming someone speaking something important (:
depends on the lens. If it has a wide aperture of course it is possible to blur the background. It`s not a feature of the camera it`s a feature of the lens
Great review! I wanted to see the shots and an actual video taken w/the camera. I just bought the camera a couple of days ago. Waiting for its arrival. I'm not a photographer, but I'm starting to get into it so I thought this was a great entry level camera for me! (:
excellent review. I have the D3100 and was not sure whether to get the D3200 as I feel I sometimes need two cameras for shooting video. I am sure now that the D3200 is a good idea. Thanks
Nice review, thanks for covering the video options like the changing of the shutterspeed and ISO during shooting! If this is the D3200, I am wondering what the D5200 and D7000 succesers will give us. I guess we will be amazed..
I wish you sounded a little more natural. Your voice in this video sounds like a airplane safety video. But, I love your videos overall. Great content! Only a minor complaint.
D3200 or D3300? What would be a better entry level DSLR? I feel like I'm leaning more towards the D3200, but if you can, please guide me.Thanks in advance ;)
Ansel Tan Yeah I noticed. I went to BestBuy and tried it out. It really is good for starting off with DSLRs, as the camera itself isn't AS important as the lenses you use (lol "as"). Thanks ;)
Nah it didn't suck, take a look at any of my videos from the last year and a half. It's just a lot trickier to get the video right without manual controls.
I am glad I chose this camera and not nearly at 700 bucks. Coupling with the prime 1.4 lens I have the capacity for world class photos. I laugh at those who scoff this camera. Thanks for the video.
Do you have a tutorial or would you be willing to do one about how you got the action type shot that you did at 3:48 ? Really impressive video. You won a new sub
Great review! I do have one question I can't seem to find the answer to and wonder if you can help. Can you use the HDMI output for live view? I plan on using the camera for recording video with the camera on a tripod and me in front of it. If I can watch the live view on a monitor via HDMI while recording it will be very helpful.
i'm looking forward to buy my first dslr, primarily i'll be shooting landscapes, video is not really important to me but i need good low light performance which one would you recommend d5100 or the d3200
Built in mics on cameras aren't very good. Yes it is possible to use it, but i recommend you buy a external mic. Wired - Rode VideoMic Pro VMP shotgun [ $229.00 Amazon ] Wireless - Sennheiser EW112PG3-A Camera Mount Wireless Lavalier [ $629.95 Amazon ] You could even use a Zoom the H2 is 142.77 [ Amazon ] and has great sound. Hope I help!
Few questions, I am very new to Photography and mainly started because I love taking my daughter out places and collecting great shots of her in different settings, I am also going to Thailand again next year and want to buy a SLR in the January sales. Will this camera be good for this, she is constantly moving and it is quite hard to get shots sometimes, will the images be clear in low light and is this camera good for beginners with it's built in help system.
Good Video. Couple of questions though. Whats the longest duration video you have taken on this? As you changed the iso & shutter we could hear continuous clicks, will this be avoidable by any means ?
it's the same thing with the 18-55 kit lens. But you can buy an other lens (macro lens). It's not the camera but the lens who determine the focus distance. Sorry for my English, and I hope I've helped you !
Digital single-lens reflex cameras (also named digital SLR or DSLR) are digital cameras combining the parts of a single-lens reflex camera (SLR) and a digital camera back, replacing the photographic film
wish we could turn back time to the good old days when these kind of TH-camrs used to reviews DSLRs but now they don't
|-/
I think this was the first video I saw on this channel. Good old times, TH-cam was so basic back then. Miss it
Thank you! This was one of the most informative review videos I've seen on TH-cam for a looong time. Informative, yet short and to the point :)
Two years? Badass, thanks for the support!
12 years.
Even viewing this years later, the 720p uploaded images look crisp, which shows the quality of the lens.
Both are solid cameras, I would really look at which you like more: Canon or Nikon. You're buying into an ecosystem so look at future upgrades, lens, accessories, etc to see which is best for you.
Resolution is excellent, especially when coupled with the 40mm macro from Nikon. I have shot a few hundred shots now and am very happy in that regard.
Get it here! amzn.to/1EPr4Uf Awesome..
Dude. This was one of your best videos ever. No joke.
I keep all my raw footage, comes in handy all the time. I've got 6TB in my editing rig.
Hey austin
I use a D3100 battery grip that I already had. Fits almost perfectly.
Excellent editing! Loved how at the end of the video you zoomed in to the camera like a wave!
Yur review is thfde best ive seen of all.Jumped rite back down to business n yu gave specifications for photo n video which was nice.

It's $200 off now on Amazon. Thank you so much for this video.
2020 and I just got it. I'm in love with it.
Hi, how has your experience been with it
The d3200 is now like $480 on amazon!
I bought my 3200 250€!
Léo N HOWWWW
The magic of Leboncoin 😂
Léo N damn dude
yeah I bought it for 400 hope to get extra lenses with it though
just ordered my d3200 can't wait for it to come!
Finn Reid Did it come?
How is it?
(I know this is old, but...) You can't adjust aperture during video. Like, not at ALL.. Just thought I'd but that out there.
mandar
Yup.
I'd say mid range is around $1000-1500 and a high range can be $2000-5000. That's not even getting into lenses which often run into the $1000s themselves. DSLRs can get expensive.
It's actually a battery grip from my D3100, fits just fine on the D3200.

The 35mm 1.8 is a great lens for the D3200. So is the 55-300 if you want a telephoto.
he was a really young man
i own it for half a year!awesome entry level dslr and won't lt you down!
i love it!
That 4th to last shot across the table is epic. You should use that baby as either the opening or ending shot for every review from here on in. As you'd say, Bawse.
Thanks, glad to hear it!
I usually use a 50mm 1.8G. Excellent lens for me, although for most people a 35mm 1.8 would probably be better.

literally schizophrenic
Probably the T3i. The individual cameras don't matter half as much as the ecosystem though, it's more of Canon vs Nikon.
Thanks for the great reviews I am buying it today. So I am excited great price.
Just got it, thanks for info

Robert Paulson hey for recording videos can it blur out the background and focus on the person talking?
depends on the lens. If it has a wide aperture of course it is possible to blur the background. It`s not a feature of the camera it`s a feature of the lens
i mean the lense that comes with it does it do that
Robert Paulson
Esra Mukhtario it does but not as much as it' can't go below 3.5 but you can still manage with the A Mode.

nice job Austin amazing video i really like it thanks alot
WOW MAN I'm impressed you do a very good job with your videos. Really nice camera. I loved how you displayed the specs at 2:08 very helpful
You can either use the strap or get a camera bag for DSLRs.
Hay Austin I was thinking about buying this camera on black Friday for 500$ and it comes with another lense and bag. Do you think it is worth it?
This is a perfect review. You showed everything we needed to see. Thanks :)
Thanks man! Very helpful! I definitely know that I'm gonna buy this camera :)

D5 is the best
9 years after..is it worth getting? for 300 bucks (used)..
The 5D MKII is a much much better camera. The D3200 is great but the 5D is just in another class (especially in price lol).
Thanks Hank!
your voice is so soothing
Nah it didn't suck, take a look at any of my videos from the last year and a half. It's just a lot trickier to get the video right without manual controls.

The Canon PowerShot ELPH 300HS. Awesome camera for stills and video.
I just brought one of thrash for shooting with, and I'm so glad I did 😀

cool review watched your review D3100 vs D3200
I saw a $150 deal for this camera in 2020. Not sure if it's a steal. I'm just shooting for fun
A great review that convinced me to get the D3200! What battery grip are you using with the cam?

How did you make this video? it says d3200 in the description, how were you able to record a video of this camera with this camera? :O magic!!!
what are your thoughs on Canon eos 1200d and Nikon d3200 can the you change the iso, shutter speed while recording video like the Nikon?
Yep I know. Here in the US though even Nikon pronounces it "Ny-kon".
