    I’m still looking for “very liberal” people in the US that Breedlove refers to. I live in the People’s Republic of Massachusetts, and I am one of the more left-leaning people here, and I’m basically an Eisenhower Republican.
    I think it’s more that the right has gotten insanely right, or really simply authoritarian, so it makes Eisenhower Republican look far left by contrast.

    • @FactCheckerGuy

      Great point. Not a lot of people realize that Eisenhower Republicans thought children should be able to have sex-changing surgery or that the police should be defunded or that the borders should be open to anyone who can get across. It is only the crazy modern Republicans who oppose these things.

    In 2014, Obama said, "And for those who complain about the United States, it's time for them to step up. In Europe, there has been an underinvestment in NATO capabilities and a reliance on the United States for far too long." Trump was not the first to criticise European countries.

    • @Sarcasticron
      @Sarcasticron หลายเดือนก่อน

      Obama didn't want to dismantle NATO, and he didn't brag about telling imaginary and real powerful people that if they didn't pay, he'd hand their country to Russia. He just encouraged others to step up their contribution. There's a very big difference. Some may want to think of this as "nuance," but it's about as "nuanced" as a plane landing in your living room. Finland wasn't scared into joining NATO by any Obama speeches.

    I am wondering if you could ask the General a question on my behalf. In the Global South (I come from Delhi, India), people find Americans so strange in one regard, i.e., they will express such sadness over the deaths of Ukrainians but this capacity to empathize suddenly vanishes when it comes to Gaza citizens. They start by justifying Israel's military occupation and then they obliquely assent to the genocidal scale of human deaths, as well as the destruction of its surrounding infrastructures. I wonder what the General thinks about my provocation. Thanks.

I study their comments sections, and wow voters are peeved with them lately. This is how FB got in trouble a few years ago, when they allowed another genocide against Muslims, in India I think it was?, or somewhere in the area. But as far as I can tell, YT seems to be coded by a bunch of teenagers, so they probably don't remember back this far.
