    Just FYI.....The Cerave does contain Vitamin E in the form of tocopheryl acetate. We learned a great deal in Pharmacy school about Vitamin E (tocopherols) and it's ability to treat cancer. Interesting stuff.

    Hello Abbey, I have been started following your videos recently to gain in-depth knowledge about skincare. I will start fresh with my skincare regimen since I am in my 30s. I know Vitamin C is an excellent antioxidant. However, due to its unstable nature and the price points in some good reliable brands like SkinCeuticals, I am not entirely leaning towards it. FYI, I am a breastfeeding mom, so I can't include retinoids in my routine. But I want to incorporate some antioxidants in my routine. Are q10, niacinamide sufficient enough as antioxidants? Would you please enlighten me with your knowledge?

    Maybe I'm wrong but at 12min11 you said that Cerave doesn't contain vitamine E but there is tocopheryl acetate in the ingredient list so there is vitamine E in the Cerave serum. Maybe the formulation has change since you reviewed it but I didn't heard about reformulation.

    I don’t like Cerave in general, so I wouldn’t buy its Vitamin C. I am now using the Timeless 20% with Ferulic Acid and Vitamin E and I got it for $20.00 with a code. I also love that it comes in an airless pump container. You can also buy Dr. Brenner’s Vitamin C 20% with Ferulic Acid and Vitamin E for $20.00. I heard it even comes with a sample of SkinCeuticals CE Ferulic. So you can do a lot better at that price than Cerave.
    Also, thank you so much for the ‘drop.’ It made my day! ❤️❤️

    Why is everyone so concerned about the Cerave one turning a tiny bit orange? Cerave literally states that the packaging is formulated to prevent oxidisation although if there is oxidisation it DOES NOT affect the product or it’s outcomes or usage. It’s quite literally a colour change that’s it.

    I do want you to make a video on alpha arbutin. I’m seeing a lot of people talking about it now. What do you think?
    With Vitamin C I kind of gave up on Vitamin C😫, don’t think my skin likes it. I tried the Cerave vitamin c and a week into it I had to stop using it cause I got all these little red bumps all over my face. A few months later I got the drunk elephant vitamin c, and I hated it from day 1 cause of the texture and smell, but decided to give it a run. I used it for almost a year, and half way through the third bottle gave up. Can’t stand the smell, but guess all vitamin c smell not too pleasant. But the texture omg , it was sticky all day, and my face looked sooooo oily. But most of all my face will always feel itchy when I put it on, I was constantly breaking out. I even tried using it every other day and nothing. So finally I decided to stop and not use vitamin c. I didn’t see any results where I can say I’m going to keep using it even if I hate the way it feels.

    • @AbbeyYung

    i use this serum and yes, it does oxidise a little when you first open it each time you use it. DO NOT THROW IT AWAY IMMEDIATELY. squeeze some of the serum out if its a little orange, then it will become a lighter, white color. then you can use it. this is because the top of the serum gets exposed to air first, so it oxidises a little. so squeeze some out when you first use it.

    Angie from Hot and Flashy said that this is virtually useless. Because its a water based formula, it needs to be pH 3-4 and this one is measured here around pH 6. LOreals Vitamin C is waterless, so it's a better bet.

    Thank you for this great comparison review. I’m new to Vit C but I love all the Cerave products I’ve tried so I’ll plan to purchase this! Quick questions - when do you apply it? At night before or after moisturizer? In the morning before sunscreen and/or moisturizer? Is it safe enough to use every day? Thanks so much Abbey - love your channel!

    Ph is very important in vitamin C. Punish important to penetration. CereVe’s Ph is not in the right range. Sad as I really liked it and moving to a different one after several tested.

    I wonder why several brands include castor oil in their formulas. I think maybe castor oil is what makes your face look glowing and not the vitamin c. Would like to know your thoughts

    • @AbbeyYung

      Depends on the type! Hydrogenated castor oil is also a surfactant & thickener

    I HATE it, it's very smooth and hydrating on the skin but for real I didn't notice as much difference as I did with other vitamin c serums, also the packaging is awful, you loose a lot of product idk why but it gets out of the package, sooo you loose product and it tends to change color (i know this is normal in vitamin c, but the color that it turns is weird) invest your money in a better vitamin c like the ordinary or good molecules :)

    • @AbbeyYung
      @AbbeyYung  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      agreed that the packaging isn't ideal! I think this is really just a good starter vit C or an option for people who are irritated by higher concentrations. Otherwise I'm with you! Use something that's a higher concentration for sure
