LOVE the L-ascorbic acid powder. It needs a water-based product in order to dissolve properly. I mix it with a few drops of HA serum and have had great results with fading hyperpigmentation.

Hello Gemma, i want to thank you a lot for your video, in fact i used the 23% Suspension years ago when i wasn't really aware about all vitamin C produtcs concentrations by the Ordinary. My skin is sensitive, just like yours, and i had a bad time using the 23% Suspention, my skin was burning as hell, and i wanted to use up my Vitamin C for it's benefits that i used up an entire bottle. My bad, now i use more gentle Vitamin C form and my skin looks good, i learned in my skincare journey ( for example my skin tolerates Retinol at 0.5 but really not tolerates at 1%). Now that i found what my skin likes, i am able to use gentle vitamin C and Retinol at 0.5 %. But i am finally there after a 4 years skincare journey. Your video is great because i find it tricky to really explain that what is REALLY important is not the pourcentage of Vitamin C, but which Vitamin C product is really adapted to your skin needs. Thank you again, i love your videos ;-)

This is so helpful! I’ve been so confused with all of The Ordinary products. I’ve not used a Vitamin C yet, and Angie from Hot & Flashy recommended an affordable one I could get from Amazon. I’ve been delaying getting it and thinking if I really need it to add to my skincare routine.

Fantastic Video Gemma! Thank you so much for all the valuable information! 😊❤️ I didn’t realize The Ordinary has 7 Vitamin C products now! 😃. I used the 20% Ascorbic Acid with HA Spheres for about a year. It was my first Vitamin C which I know was a bit risky but my skin had no issues. I didn’t like the gritty texture either so I switched to Timeless 20% Vit C plus Feurlic Acid. I LOVE it and have been using it since 🙂

Hi Gemma! Love love ❤️ all your videos! Great job 👏 i am visiting London next December for the first time (I am so excited) and I would like to ask you if you have any recommendations on where to buy uk affordable cosmetic brands. I know some of them: the ordinary, inkey list, rimmel, pixi, makeup revolution. Are there any other brands that I miss?

I love the L-ascorbic acid powder the most. By far. Didn´t really see much happening with other vitamin c products, but the vitamin c powder mixed with my moisturiser in the daytime really makes my skin glow and has already helped with hyperpigmentation within a week. My skin tolerates it so well and it is practical that I can mix it in any water based product (no extra serum step needed and no grittyness like with one of the vitamin c serums I tried). I have begun to mix the vitamin c powder with a moisturiser containing c that I already had (the one from Garnier in a jar) beacuse I have heard that the ph level of the product that the powder is mixed with is also important for it to be effective. And I presume that a moisturiser that already has vitamin c in it has the right ph level for a bit more c.

I can’t use it on my face, but I mix the powder into my body lotion and my skin has never been better! I am careful with the dosing, but my skin looks great and it’s an easy way to get vitamin C under my body sunscreen without using my face products. I find that several of TO products are a little too hard on my face but are a great way to care for my body at a great price.

    Such a good video....super informative.
I use the vit c powder. My esthetician friend gave me a smaller spoon so I use it & mix it with the ordinary 7% glycolic acid as my first step in the morning & with my sensitive skin,it just works. The spoon they provide I think is way too big & can be very irritating.

What a fantastic vid. I didn't know I needed this information, but I definitely did 😊
Your clear and easy to understand explanations about The Ordinary's Vit C's, is completely new to me.
I had no idea that the powdered form is not to be mixed with a niacinamide product.
The Vit C suspension is a huge no! Even my boot leather skin stung when I used this (I don't think the gritty texture helped. The powdered form is really pleasant though - I've been using Vit C for many years, so I've built up a decent tolerance.
    Love you loads ❤💜❤💜❤💜❤

I just purchased the Vit C with silicone but haven’t tried it yet . Was thinking I should try it alone at night …without any other skin care products…. .then incorporate my usual . R there any products I should not mix that Vit C with, is Lactic ok, is Tretinoin ok. I have always used the Timeless as part of my am routine, but decided when I emptied it to go a different route. Thanks Gemma

  • @gwenmassey7631

Gemma, I used to use GOW Vitamin C 23% with Ferulic Acid, absolutely loved it but the delivery of €10 has made it overpriced so I have changed to a chemist own brand of Vitamin C 10%. Its OK but when I apply it to my skin it turns to like a soapy texture, it rubs in but I am not sure if this is right. I wondered if some Vitamin C products do that? I think I might try The Ordinary Ascorbic Acid 10% one though, pigmentation is my main concern (I am 66, not sure if that makes a difference). 💐💐

Hi Gemma would you expect stinging and slight burning from tretinoan, I experience this each time dermatica up my strength, iv just gone up to 0.5 and after a few days use the above symptoms start for about a week, I know its not vit c related but my ears pricked up when you said about tingling and burning lol. These are difficult to get rid of unfortunately, but gentle products, spf, and a good diet are key to not making them worse. A dermatologist will be able to use a tool to ‘zap’ them, but it can be quite pricy. X
