This is proof that "they don't make em like they used to"
Nothing will come close to to the beauty of c2 and c3 corvettes.... Just stunning.
Driving a classic old car is like stepping back in time. The car feels very different to modern cars and it lets you think back to the era the car came from (many good memories).
Great video, Don1
And yes, I am jealous. The '67 Stingray is, IMHO, the most appealing Corvette ever...including the ZR1. The design has an air of power and elegance that modern Vettes have lost.
Yeah, I totally hear where u are coming from! I've got my first Vette now at 17, a red 81 C3 and absolutely love it, I've always loved the C3 and worked really hard to buy it, no girlfriend, but I've got my Vette, so I'm happy! My next Vette is hopefully gonna be an early C3, I love the early ones, but at 17, don't obviously have the money to afford one, I plan on holding on to this car as long as I live!!!
Well first of all it's good to hear some one call the car what it is...a MID YEAR!
Not a funky C-twoooo! Great Video and Great presentation. I love my 63 as well
Thank you!
At Last- I hate the C numbers, C1 I mean what does that look like? Twin rear lights? twin headlights, a six or a V8 side coves? tail fins? how can C1 be all of those cars?
All that aside a 67 big block has pretty much the look and sound that is the pinnacle of design style, the high point of corvette design, And I love that this one ISN,T matching numbers! who cares really ? No one if you are gonna drive it! which is what these are built for!
This is why I love Corvettes.
this guys my hero! totally got the "restoration bug" with my datsuns hahaha
Thanks for the video! It was great to see and hear the 427. I had a chance to buy one of these for $15,000 in 1986 but I didn't have the money. I've regretted it ever since.
I am SO jealous! By far the best vet ever made!
what a beautiful car and what a beautiful story..amazing..hats off to you sir!..
Great piece. I like hearing personal stories about owners and their automotive loves.
I admire your feelings towards her. One day when l have one of those cars of my dreams, I will do it like you do.
As a German, I love those American classics. Great Video!
I'm soooo happy it's not "hot rodded" or "modified" good job on ya.
Love this model year Vette. Glad it's in the right hands too. This guys respects the $ and value of his time and what he has. Great video and real nice car too.I've always dreamed about having one but things keep getting in the way.
that was amazing! probs to you guys CARandDRIVER and thank you Don Sherman for sharing your car and story with us! this video gave me goosebumps.
amazing video and speech, great car I love old cars too, those made nowadays doesn't have souls of designers...
The C2 Corvette ... it looks so fine :D
What a beauty! Amazing!
My dream car!
I own a 1966 Chevy; and I never was able to clearly describe how to feels to drive it. I currently own a '09 NInja. And Classics are like 4 wheel motorcycles; Very well put!
The interior design is super nice in this car
Beautiful car and a fine video, Don. Kudos!
This is an awesome video, thanks for sharing your car! I feel the same way you do these cars are THE sports cars. I wish I grew up in the time period of the muscle cars!
beautiful, just beautiful
Awesome. The midyear corvettes are at the top of my favorites chevys, always been a chevy guy (age 53) - they still look ultra modern to me even today, might even qualify as a concept car compared to all the unimaginative aerodynamic mpg crap out today. I wanted one all my life, I worked like a dog but never got far enough ahead, then I was outsourced into layoff limbo so Ill never own one - but ill never stop loving the now legendary mid year corvettes. God bless Harley Earl-lol
Beautiful beautiful car ..and what that’s gentleman says “ pure sensory experience “🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️🙇🏻♂️👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👊🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Good job Mr. Sherman! You and the C2. Class on class.
Amazing video, amazing man, and an amazing car. Thank you very much for sharing this beautiful video, and like some have said it is very poetic which made it soothing to watch, just perfect.
This video made me wanna buy one
Curently the best Corvette video on TH-cam...Just...cant get any better, really a timeless design, I hope these cars stay forever! (future Corvette owner)
not a huge 'Vette guy, but way to go Don. That car loves you as much as you love her. Restoring a car ain't easy, but when you take her back and put her in her prime she'll run better than she did outta the factory.
Great episode. Damn I shed a tear because of how beautiful it was. I want to be like this guy when I'm old. Look back and appreciate the hard work done.
OMG I NEED this car!
I am not really a fan of domestic vehicles, although this is the only corvette I would own given the chance. This video was very well made, great angles and sounds. The viewer feels the passion behind the owner and that is key on videos such as this one. Great job car and driver. Please cover Vintage bmw's. More people need to witness 3.0 csi's.
I haven't watched a car and driver video in a couple of months, but i've got to say this is a drastic improvement over those minute long reviews from a couple of years ago. nice job C&D
one of the best car vid on youtube.
I always wanted to drive one. way cool. Thanks.
Great video, great car! Gm is probably one of my least favorite manufacturers nowadays, but classic Chevy cars have a unique beauty that won't be seen ever again. New vettes are nice but this is legendary
You're the man, Don. I dig it, that you changed the car to you liking with the different exterior and interior color. Since we can't walk into a dealer showroom anymore and order one new as we want it, this is the next best thing. Since the engine was not the original anyway, this is perfectly alright in my book. There are enough museum quality numbers matching originals around. Better to tastfully adapt one to what you really want, restore it and then DRIVE IT!!
i can't imagine that someone would dislike this video, great job very inspiring
lovely car, lovely story - automotive romance
Beautiful!
That thing is a fucking MONSTER! 560 bhp! It was only put under the hood of TWENTY Corvettes in 1967! This engine is more rare than a Bugatti Veyron Super Sport!
That car is BA!!! I love he sound!!
Of all autos in the world . This 67 427 is it for me
ive never owned this car but still this video made me some nostalgic moment... thanks don sherman great vid
Very true video, that's the best poem one with true in it.
A beautiful episode.
beautiful car, great car guy.
What a beautiful beautiful car
Amazing video! It's more than just an episode, is a love declaration for the Corvette!
I really enjoyed it.
Ah, I loved the garage too =))
Killer ride... Love the 1967 Corvette...I am soon to own one...God Bless...
This video was very poetic :)
My favourite Corvettes are: 1953/4, 1958 (quad lights), 1967 coupe, 1970 big block t-roof., 1982 t-roof for its shape, late c5, and latest c6 zo6 and zr1.
fantastic ,more videos about classic cars !
I just wanna cry. I never cry...
Best CARandDRIVER video that i''ve watched..
Awesome car, solid dude. I'm jealous.
I wish Chevy would go retro with the Corvette design. Dodge did a fine job with the Challenger as did Ford with the Mustang.
I can just imagine a new 750hp Vette with design cues from a '66.
more of this please!!!!
1967 Chevrolet 427 Corvette Roadster car is very good. Not so bad. But so good.
Beautiful
best looking vette
Fantastic vlog!
This is a great man flick =P
What a nice guy and a beautiful car. I must say tho' my favourite 1967 would be a coupe. I think the fact the convertible has no roof when down ruins the lines. If you look at a 1967 coupe its lines are fabulous! This Corvette is as good inside and out as any classic car. I think the 1967 coupe is better looking than the e-type jaguar (and i'm British). The reason i say this is the jag is a great looking car but, its bonnet long as it is , is the ruined by the upright 'brick wall ' windshield.
Really love this car.
Holy awesome!
All hail! The mighty Corvette!
I have his book! It convinced me NOT to restore a Vette and just go buy a new one! Was the right move for me. I still have the C5 I bought at that time and enjoy the hell out of it!
amazing video
Great video . I LIKE CORVETTES. WILL BUY ONE SOME DAY !
My favorite Corvette is the '67.
What a great video
The C2 is the best looking Vette by a long way.
The first big-block (396) was introduced in 1965. the 427 came in in '66.
nice camerawork!
A beautiful car! There is nothing like classic black, especially on a midyear Corvette.
I'd be interested in knowing what the engine is. It certainly doesn't sound like an L88! What is Don Sherman willing to share with us about his engine build, and why didn't he use the proper painted steel valve covers used on 1967 BBC?
True, modern cars are too desensitising. A beautiful machine, long may you enjoy the frits of your labours.
Tools, space, time, tools, and ability...and help
Wonderful Video
You got a new subscriber!
Does anyone know what year Corvette changed their engines in the 60's? I heard the 67 is the most wanted Vette because it had anew
I live outside of the US, and I love my Mustang, but there aren't many sweeter cars than a '67 Stingray.
idk if he will get this.. route 66 is the best time you will ever have! you won't have a trip comparable to mine, but it will be your own. he asked about the vintage route, there are parts that seem like the original that are next to the actual route, don't take these! some run into gravel, an farmland...the best parts about the route are in california, you can ride almost to l.a. on the original route, it'll blow your mind!
Wow, awesome video.
The exhaust was a GM option in the mid-60's. Catalytic converters would not be4 invented for another 7-8 years.
I said it in the best spirit; I used to work for Ford in Australia and we didn't get on with GM, at each other's throats in fact.
It's just an old competitor thing; hope you understand, but I am not sure?
Ps. I currently own a Jaguar and a Ford, now figure that one out? lol
#800 thumbs up lol '64 327 needs a lot lol thankk you typing one eye so forgive errors
I'm not sure what video you were watching.
Look @ 1:58 - Sherman's 'Vette is a 4-speed.
Yay
would be even better if the head lights are shown in the video
Stupid question, but has Sherman even taken that car to a track day or any sort of competitive event? Because if I had any old car like that, I'd like to take it to it's limits once.
Was some of that shot behind the old Visteon HQ?
Really a Terrific Video!! Would you please tell me the name of company that you went with for the exhaust, also is is a straight pipe design or did you keep the cat and Resonators? I would love to have my future C7 sounding like this!! Thank you very much for this awesome Video and I too Am going the we way of American Muscle, after leaving from Japaneses cars.
Beautiful car, but why didn't he switch to radial tires.
I am a Ford lover, but this car reminds me of the E Type Jaguar?
Lol but to be honest I did buy a Corolla for the wife after leaving Ford, a bloody rust bucket, and before leaving OZ a 206 Peugeot, the Jag scares me beautiful to look at and drive but the costs at the garage makes me tremble, but our new Fiesta is nice.
But forgot there is also a Mazda RX8 in the family (sons) ask me again why? lol
