Sorry for late reply I never got notification. I use a dab of silicone grease. Never use silicone sealant on a rubber seal defeats the idea of the rubber being the seal.
No problem. I left the trade after 18 years to try HGV driving but if you have any questions about any car issues I'm always happy to help anyone with my knowledge. sorry I haven't done many videos always was too busy to hold a camera
W205 Today I tackled this as it would appear I had coolant leaking from underneath the car and warning on dashboard and when you looked around by the fuel filter housing and the egr cooler there was a build up clearly showing however I've fitted the new redesigned model can only fit two bolts as isn't slots for all three. However I took it for a test drive after refilling with coolant and now it appears the dashboard warning has came back on yet again? Any ideas or suggestions to what's happening?
That's correct only 2 bolts needed as they mount it too the head. Maybe do a pressure test and make sure there isn't a leak else where? Only other thing is the egr cooler that side or you just have an air lock and needs topping up
Hello there mate great video 👍🏼 ! I have the same engine and it tells me to top up coolant every around 2 months ! You reckon this could be the issue ? Thanks in advance
Hi brother. Great video. Do we need to apply silicone on the rubber seal before putting it back in the position? Thanks

If you look directly down on that side of the engine you will see the puddle of coolant on the block

Hello. Not unless you have run the engine with a long period without coolant

Most common leak and sometimes it's burns the water and evaporates before it leaks so it's more of a visual check
Thanks for replying mate appreciate that I’ll have to get it proper checked !
Is there any specialists tools required?
No addy all basic tools, sockets and extensions also a pair of grips 👍
