I remember watching that vid lmaoooo. the confidence at 15 was actually on another level. it came up in my feed like 2 days before my speech. thanks to you, I made mine more funny and I got a distinction.
For the record, I got a distinction on my speech about Attack on Titan, so you can do it about basically anything as long as you care about it (and link it to wider context).
yes!! i did mine on ‘how does doctor who explore what it means to be human’ lol, it was actually really fun because i just got to talk about one of my favourite things for 5 mins. i also got a distinction too, i think because it was just such an interesting topic (and it also kinda linked to lord of the flies & jekyll and hyde)
@@Zwyane Specifically, I talked about Eren’s genocide and why so many people tend to defend it, but also linked it to some philosophical and historical context
as a 15 yr old freshman, I find your advice is really helpful. Im about to begin school this week and one of the first units in my English course will be speech writing and presentations. your speech is quite inspiring, thank you.
I'm turning 15 in a month and I really hope this would help me. I am excited to use a new word I've learnt to remember each time I am writing a speech now: Audience. I am so nervous, I am doing mine in September and I am doing mine on Pokémon (specifically whether Pokémon is animal abuse) and what if people think it is weird cuz from what I am hearing most if not all of the people from my year are talking about something serious. And I have intense stage fright which is the main problem😭
Hey, how did it go- I mean, assuming you already passed ? ;-; :'') Anyhow, don't doubt the subject you've chosen :o There must be a reason why you did and, well, if not, still, I actually would've dug it SO MUCH xD LIKE, POKÉMON?(!) And if it's animal abuse !(?) I would have never thought of that, WOAW! * ^ * It stands out, it's interesting and, what you're going to present… How you will… Now that's, really cool :'') I mean, I don't know, why I'm saying this, what I'm even saying, but, I hope everything went all right!☆ >.
I’m gonna do mine tomorrow, on my favourite music artist: Owl City. I’m legit terrified tho cuz everyone so far has done super serious speeches on why we should recycle and stuff and I’m here yapping about cringy music 😭
I did mine a year ago on why the prison system is corrupt and then my teacher asks me 3 question about other topics within the law which didn’t relate to why prisons are corrupt safe to say I got a merit. Then she asks 3 yes or no questions to a girl which wrote about why zoos are cruel. Not fair
@@calmingchick_en you have to do a speech to get an english gcse (i know stupid although it doesnt contribute to your grade) heres the speech x- Have you ever eaten exotic meat or owned a real snakeskin handbag. As luxurious as these items may seem, the cruel horrid and morbid way these products are harvested are very much the opposite. Illegal animal hunting and trade is on a steep incline, and it is still currently happening today. Weve all heard of elephants being poached and rhinos going extinct but do you know why? Wild animals that are being snatched from their habits to be put in homes and zoo’s are having a detrimental impacts on their global population. The amazon rainforest, the largest rainforest in the world- home to over 48000 species is a hotspot for this inhumane business. Macaw populations have been severely affected as these birds are being shipped globally, such as the UK and America. This not only affects their wild populations but also the bird’s health and wellbeing. This also risks native birds’ health and diseases. Traffickers have a huge incentive to macaw exploitation as they can be sold from between $200-$600. Consequently, this has led to a devastating drop in population. Spix macaws are beautiful blue birds (like the birds in rio) which have been mercilessly pushed to the brink of extinction- with only 180 left in captivity as they have already been extirpated from the amazon. This concern isn’t just limited to Macaws with mammals equally loosing this one-sided war. Jaguars are major predators in the amazon, beneficial for regulating populations. But due to exploitation, even these beasts have manifested an ecosystem without equilibrium. Now they occupy less than ½ of their historical range. Thankfully awareness and small independent organisations have tirelessly worked to combat animal loss on small scales. A project that has been set up has already saved 6000+ endangered blue throated macaws from indigenous Amazonian tribes who used the birds body parts in ceremonies, but they have now changed to alternatives to preserve the macaws. Tragically this issue is not confined to the amazon, which is only a tiny part in earths entire animal population. Humans hold the balance of ecosystems in their palms, yet knowingly burden and kill irreducible pray and predators for their own gain. In the last 50 years, 60% of our planets wildlife has been killed, and this number is rapidly increasing. A major catalyst to the animal trade chain that has led to it growing so large is the wildlife markets in China. The consumption of wild animals in China in extensive, and common in tcm. In Hong Kong, a survey done in 2019 found that 83% of people has eaten a wild animal the previous year. The animal products also sell for ridiculously high prices, as rhino horns recently reached $60,000 per Kg. This behaviour is not concealed. When my dad travelled to Hong Kong he witnessed desperate and tortured black bears squeezed into tiny cages. A large needle was then brutally inserted into their gallbladder and their bile was extracted. The bear was then left in agony, repeated tormented until it died on the streets. Sadly the abusers are highly motivated by money as a single gram of bile sells for $3000-&5000. This merciless and violent exploitation has led to species endangerment and morbid risks to irreplaceable ecosystems- needed for our earths balance. As we’ve all seen, this malpractice can also cause diseases to be rapidly spread, such as covid-19, which originated in Chinese wild food market. Covid still haunts our society today , showing that the killing and consumption of wild animals creates eternal affects on our society. Due to the recent state of our planet, the Chinese government has introduced new beneficial restrictions. In February 2020 there was a permanent ban on wild animal consumption, closing down all illegal food markets. Following this, in 2021 Hong Kongs markets also closed down and the government are fighting to enforce all installed policies. We stand at a pivotal moment. Illegal animal hunt and trade are crimes against nature and humanity. But we have the power to change this. Imagine a future where our children can marvel at the same wonders we have-tigers, elephants, and unspoiled nature. This dream is within our reach. I urge you to support this movement. The time to act is now. it needs to be around 3-5 mins and yes i did use chat gpt SO... but barely tbf only the ending because i had no clue how to end a speech xx
