I'm actually going to rebuild the old M20B25 and put it in the 86 Red Headed Stepchild. Videos will happen on that as well for the whole rebuild and the Early to late model swap.

Having pulled two M20's and an M42, I know this feeling. Fun story, I helped a local guy pull his M42. He wanted to pull the motor and leave the transmission in the car. I will pull 3 M20's with the G260 before trying to mess with that again. It was a nightmare.
Did you ever figure out what the plug was by the DME? I didn't pay close enough attention, but did your car have a 13 button OBC? I wonder if that harness is the code disable for the fuel pump through the OBC.

Yeah it has that and it works or worked so yeah that's definitely possible. If I have issues I'll definitely dive into that.
