My first pic, Maharajan never made the field and my second Athabascan was a late scratching, never considered the eventual winner and overlooked the fact Warp speed had run 3:14 for 3200 metres in Japan.... when 3:17 is a top run in the Melbourne cup.
Just a postscript, Vauban, who flopped once again in this year's Cup, had been sold to Australian Bloodstock and he'll be trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott starting in the autumn. Immediate targets for Vauban include the Tancred Stakes (2400 G1) in late March, Sydney Cup (3200 G1) in April during The Championship, and possibly 3rd attempt at the Melbourne Cup. Future plans could include jumps racing career.
I'm surprised Aust. Bloodstock didn't go with Anthony & Sam Freedman who converted Without A Fight into the Australian styled 2 miler (i.e. can accelerate rapidly).
@lewdubspersonalbest9070 The initiative came from Gai and Adrian. Australian Bloodstock, in partnership with Gai and Adrian, bought the horse. If the initiative didn't come, Vauban would have remained in Ireland. Don't think Anthony and Sam Freedman were in the picture at all (they would have been really good choice to train him too).
Had a mate that got it at $150 yesterday and used Sp*#tsBet Boost to get $200 dividend. Regular punter too, he said heard some wraps about the horse in the past and saw it's Bendigo Cup run. $10 turned into $2000.
Needed this content around 2:35pm today 😁👍
Thanks, enjoyed the journey. My pick Onesmoothoperator was nowhere to be seen. Gutsy 3rd by Okita Soushi.
It certainly was a good run from Okita Soushi.
Proud for sticking with Okita Soushi all this time 🙏
Well done. A solid run.

Well, a nice win by a part-time singer, who, I think, can plan for the concert at the very same racecourse in the future.
You said it mate 🐴Woke cup
Cup needed those withdrawn horses like Jan Brueghel, Riff Rocket, Point King, Via Sistina. Certainly my wallet did 🤣
@@BigTV-ke1nnRiff Rocket passed away so you will never see him again.
@@davidwong6682 Yes it was sudden. Great horse, stellar career he had.
Well fancy that- the favourites never won-again!
On the Floor Lew.Was on Warp Speed 😫
Dunno how you picked him. Surely you had some money on place as well.
@lewdubspersonalbest9070 I did. But knew he would jump out of the ground on dry ðeck and loves the Distance.

Couldn't have backed it at 201-1 with your money Lew. 😂 The tote punters got shafted $60? Sheesh

@@lewdubspersonalbest9070 I did similar got $150 Mostly Cloudy, turned it into bookies house extension 🥲
Not a lot of distance between first and last.
I guess that means the handicapper did a great job? 😂
Warp Speed was stiffed by the jockey! Book a local rider next time and the cup goes back to Japan!
I thought it was a faultless ride. Unlike Absurde, I didn't see any loss of momentum, in Warp Speed's progress.
