Hi Lew. They all ran in Equinox's shadow.
Urban Chic is looking good for the Arima Kinen. th-cam.com/video/g2WtijfXq10/w-d-xo.html
What the heck had happened to WAF? I thought he had greater chance to win than anyone else before the race. Pretty surprising outcome, at least for me. BTW, big boost for RW after his win on the very same day before heading for the middle east and taking on another overseas campaign.
I thought I heard them say they're trying him on the dirt over there.
thoughts on without a fight, do they try him back in aus, chance he could be over as a horse, or maybe just didn’t handle the hk climates? way of going, short trip over etc etc, he needed a whole prep to get to his best in aus…keen to see what they do
The training team have no answers themselves at the moment. After a run like that though I won't bet on him until he's given us a strong sign that he's back to his 2023 self.
@@lewdubspersonalbest9070 I forgot about the HK races, so feel like ive had a win. 'Liberty Island' was a much improved run.
@@BigTV-ke1nn It was. Her run in the Tenno Sho Autumn looked poor, so this gives hope she might show her best again in 2025. Maybe they'll give Dubai a miss.
@@lewdubspersonalbest9070 You want the good horses to run well. I don't follow the OS races closely, interest & form line. Most annoying few years back i would take cheap long multis on top young Jap stallions to win the MC, only for them not to come, win the Jap cup & retire to stud
Biboo brought me here lmao
Done and dusted get this old crap of the air
Fav to good. The Shin boner was 1 to back next time, considering jockey didn't pull the whip until do Deuce was 1L in front 🤔
Shin emperor put up a gutsy fight
Fantastic moon will win
Stay out of politics
No! If I and the rest of the sane people out there have to put up with left wing propaganda being rammed down our throats during every mainstream media coverage of any and all sports events, you can put up with one TH-cam channel promoting the Destroyer of the Deep State.
Hi Lew, Thanks for your previews of Melbourne Cup and this one . I'm the chap that lives in Jasper Alberta (a third of the town burned down this summer-you maybe heard?) and we had some good back and forth on weights, stride pattern, and pedigrees. The Japanese have some tremendous sires with that electric turn-of-foot , mostly good on firmish going. Do Deuce has a rapid short stride pattern that will be suited by the going. Goliath should win this but I don't know that it will. It might be tapped for toe when Cervinia comes past. I've tried to identify the stride pattern of Cervinia; I think it's rapid/fast, and I timed her last win at 21 seconds for the last 400 m. (Do Deuce has done a 22 sec, also won the Japanese Derby in a very fast time.) But what I like about this filly (other than she's almost a four-year-old with a 3-y-o allowance) is her pedigree. She's by the new Japanese sire Harbinger. I still remember Harbinger winning the 2010 King George & Queen El. at Ascot by 11 lengths in almost a canter. Her sire had a rapid/fast stride pattern. As you will remember I think weight carried is more of a distraction: it's about suitability to the course and going and how it might relate to stride pattern, jockeyship, and the most important factor of all--as Ryan Moore concurs-is pedigree. Cervinia has it to win! Cheers. David Harrap Jasper Canada Oh, I backed Trump with William Hill to win the election; also to win in 2020, the one that was stolen from him. I reckoned he had a much better stride pattern than Biden; and as for Harris, well, she's so stupid she makes Biden even in his current mental condition look like a candidate for Mensa!
I recall the discussion on weight. Thanks for returning, I also backed Trump in 2020 and was robbed, but I had my fill up in 2016. This election I stayed out of it, as I had no trust for a fair election when ID was not and still is not required in all states. There's an account on X that was talking about stride (in Japan Cup context) and he stated that Auguste Rodin had a different stride type to most European horses. He believes it gives him a chance to defy history in tomorrow's race. Not me though.
Good Luck Lew, Long way to go but also read possibly Melb Cup tilt for Goliath next year.
Thanks. Looked it up www.justhorseracing.com.au/news/australian-racing/john-stewart-eyes-melbourne-with-japan-cup-fancy/835278
1. Do Deuce 2. Justin Palace 3. Cervinia 4. Stars on Earth Scratched - Matt Gaetz
You don't seen any of the foreigners finishing in the first 4? And on Gaetz, do you have any intel on that scratching? Last I heard he's going to be the AG.
@@lewdubspersonalbest9070 I agree the foreign horses look strong, but it's awfully tough for them to compete with Japanese horses on their home turf. Gaetz has officially been scratched and replaced in the field by the filly Pam Bondi.
@@riotbunny that's bad news about Gaetz. Never heard of her. Neocon?
@@lewdubspersonalbest9070 No idea. She was Florida's AG back in the day, apparently. Anyway, good luck with your tips for tomorrow👍
@@riotbunny just saw a bit on the Bondi girl on Mark Dice's channel. Sounds promising: th-cam.com/video/IWF6CHF14wI/w-d-xo.html
Hi Lew. Thanks for second preview. Watched the favs Derby win beating Equinox '22. Definitely a get back run on pattern to his racing.Same as his Tenno Sho win this year. Having trouble splitting Do Deuce and Goliath. The stats suggest the Tenno Sho autumn heavily favours the winner of this upcoming race. The win in France by Goliath Should have him wound up for this and time on that affected track was very smart. Can't see O'Brien's runner running a place. I think it's a bad move to race him in Japan.Oh well. Need slightly longer odds for D.D to back both. Plenty time yet. Have a look closer to start time. Cheers.
Thanks for the feedback.
'Vauban' for me if he accepts late, otherwise 'Blow the Horn' would be a good result 👍
What is the distance of the Cup ? also it would be helpful to know the distances of these lead up races ...perhaps the times as well. Sorry not asking too much😎
The information is there onscreen at the start of each of the Lead-Up races, and the Japan Cup is 2400m. During the Tenno Sho Autumn post-race I said that Justin Palace would appreciate the extra quarter mile of the Japan Cup.
Just a postscript, Vauban, who flopped once again in this year's Cup, had been sold to Australian Bloodstock and he'll be trained by Gai Waterhouse and Adrian Bott starting in the autumn. Immediate targets for Vauban include the Tancred Stakes (2400 G1) in late March, Sydney Cup (3200 G1) in April during The Championship, and possibly 3rd attempt at the Melbourne Cup. Future plans could include jumps racing career.
I'm surprised Aust. Bloodstock didn't go with Anthony & Sam Freedman who converted Without A Fight into the Australian styled 2 miler (i.e. can accelerate rapidly).
@lewdubspersonalbest9070 The initiative came from Gai and Adrian. Australian Bloodstock, in partnership with Gai and Adrian, bought the horse. If the initiative didn't come, Vauban would have remained in Ireland. Don't think Anthony and Sam Freedman were in the picture at all (they would have been really good choice to train him too).
Am I the only one who watched Sea King's jockey come out of barrier NUMBER ONE, in the Melbourne Cup, FFS, and immediately drop to last after 50 metres? Nothing from the stewards or the media. Not my pocket talking, but who on Earth is Holly Doyle, the jockey? Never heard of her, and surely her first ride at the track. One wonders exactly what the (very experienced) owners and trainer were thinking about ten seconds into the race, with 3 minutes left to endure....
She's pretty high ranking in the UK - not sure about her being a legitimate World's Top 50 jockey though. I was also very concerned when she drew barrier 1 in the Melbourne Cup - tough task for anyone, especially if the horse is a little lethargic out of the gates. And you probably know this but I'll say it - big media is not going to question the ride of a female jockey on the big stage, due to the risk of #woke colleagues calling them sexist etc.
Well, a nice win by a part-time singer, who, I think, can plan for the concert at the very same racecourse in the future.
Proud for sticking with Okita Soushi all this time 🙏
Well done. A solid run.
ahmm..melbourne cup 2024..knights choice and warp speed were almost last at 400 meters, then sprinted on the next 200 meters, epic win, few millimeters difference among top 5. Destiny awaits the pop singer.
My first pic, Maharajan never made the field and my second Athabascan was a late scratching, never considered the eventual winner and overlooked the fact Warp speed had run 3:14 for 3200 metres in Japan.... when 3:17 is a top run in the Melbourne cup.
Warp Speed was stiffed by the jockey! Book a local rider next time and the cup goes back to Japan!
I thought it was a faultless ride. Unlike Absurde, I didn't see any loss of momentum, in Warp Speed's progress.
Thanks, enjoyed the journey. My pick Onesmoothoperator was nowhere to be seen. Gutsy 3rd by Okita Soushi.
It certainly was a good run from Okita Soushi.
On the Floor Lew.Was on Warp Speed 😫
Dunno how you picked him. Surely you had some money on place as well.
@lewdubspersonalbest9070 I did. But knew he would jump out of the ground on dry ðeck and loves the Distance.
Needed this content around 2:35pm today 😁👍
Well fancy that- the favourites never won-again!
You said it mate 🐴Woke cup
Cup needed those withdrawn horses like Jan Brueghel, Riff Rocket, Point King, Via Sistina. Certainly my wallet did 🤣
@@BigTV-ke1nnRiff Rocket passed away so you will never see him again.
@@davidwong6682 Yes it was sudden. Great horse, stellar career he had.
Not a lot of distance between first and last.
I guess that means the handicapper did a great job? 😂
Couldn't have backed it at 201-1 with your money Lew. 😂 The tote punters got shafted $60? Sheesh
Had a mate that got it at $150 yesterday and used Sp*#tsBet Boost to get $200 dividend. Regular punter too, he said heard some wraps about the horse in the past and saw it's Bendigo Cup run. $10 turned into $2000.
@@lewdubspersonalbest9070 I did similar got $150 Mostly Cloudy, turned it into bookies house extension 🥲
Eye catching run for third, that horse is going places.
Knight's Choice won the 2024 Melbourne Cup by a head from the Japanese runner, Warp Speed. Sea King finished 14th from Barrier 1. Was last leaving the straight. Jockey said it didn't get the trip and overraced a bit throughout.
Hi Lew Here is my bets for M.C day Flem R6 NO8 Apulia win. Melbourne Cup Boxed First Four @ 20% No,s 1,2,3,8,9,13,15,18,22 Expecting an improved run from No 8 today Land Legend. Good luck to everyone participating and watching today and a special thanks To Mr Lew Dubs for running THE BEST MELBOURNE CUP YOTUBE CHANNEL in the world. Cheers mate
Hi Lew enjoy your work just find it hard that you question Kovalica’s prep ? Almost identical to Verry Elleegant’s 2021 demolition except I think Kovalica had a faster time in the cox plate same trainer and has the jockey on him who was robbed of VE ride this is the sweetener deal from Waller for giving VE ride to j Mac
VE had run in Caulfield Cup & Melbourne Cup the year before. I think that had her prepared for the 2 miles. It wasn't so foreign to her. I must admit though, I didn't think she could win the race in 2021, I thought she was a good place chance. By the way, maybe this will change your mind, here is Chris Waller saying the opposite to what you thought he had said: “He is by Ocean Park and I think they just keep improving at four and I just don’t think he is a 2400m horse, I think he is a bit sharper than that." Full article here: www.news.com.au/sport/superracing/nsw-racing/chris-waller-eyes-big-spring-for-queensland-derby-winner-kovalica/news-story/4bc628639eafd9c8940a2dd09d1e5d75?News.com&Google&DSA&gad_source=1&gbraid=0AAAAADnTK2_MjJvue6TuC1iXTvPJV392c&gclid=Cj0KCQiA_qG5BhDTARIsAA0UHSKrvLtc6adVGEvYmD2HQqiKSJ-u47dp8YsiRZLfN6NUYePUdy5cHjsaApyVEALw_wcB
The guy just said the Brisbane Cup was 3,200 metres. Wrong again. It was reduced to 2,400 metres years ago. This guy is a moron.
The name of Buckaroo is not Bugaroo. What is it with you. You need English lessons you fool.
Really good horse
Terrific presentation as always, I have Switzerland 6/1 not Saint George 16/1 the place with a wish and a dream, Vauban looks like a certainty
I'm a bit confused by that comment about Switzerland.
❤Zardozi 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
bugaroo or buckaroo
Thanks for noticing.
Absurde. The interview with the jockey post race was interesting. He believes, this horse can travel with the best of them, he has a devastating 250 meter kick in him, that for me is the biggest play. Last year he was shown far too much daylight. KM is a master of Melbourne. If he tracks the right horse(s) buried away in 8th , 9th for the final kick at the 300 meter pole, I believe he will run away from them. The 2nd in this video is a proper horse to mark by, make no mistake. The form is good. The Ebor win is good. He led them from the point of straightening up last year, much too early, this year with a better ride, in let's face it a weaker race, Absurde will be right there come the winning post imo. Good Luck.
Yeah, I get two images of Absurde. One, where he seems to only have a short but sharp sprint (displayed in last year's Cup & at Chester), but then his win in the Ebor showed incredible ticker to sustain when being challenged. Even Frankie thought he was going to be beaten that day but Absurde fought on.
Thanks for posting, but its hard not to fall asleep listening to this caller lol, he has no excitement in 3/4 of the race.
Are you Australian by any chance? No hate or anything just im british and I love this style of commentating, bland boring and straight to the point😂
@johnnyboy6608 yeah I am haha. I guess maybe because its a long race and a small field so it might be boring for most of the race compared to our races over here where we have lots of pretty big fields.
@ yeah that’s fair it would be hard to get excited about a small field like this
Still night and better than the american commentators lol
Thank you good sir 🫡. !!! 🔥❤️🔥🔥😎👌🏼
Will look like the winner on Tuesday at some stage. Could stay on for the jumping season this time rather then having to freight back to Europe 👍
Did look possible at the top of the straight but had a chequered path.
@@lewdubspersonalbest9070 5th place good for $230k, you'd wonder if they would come back without that. Hope they bring 2 different horses next. How far they get beat without all the woke scr?
Winner could win Tuesday
I want to continue you tube
Got a nice $12 for absurde last week, into $9 now gives me a bitta confidence 😅
Lew who would be your roughie?
Maybe SharpNSmart is not as bad as his form looks. I did think Athabascan was going to get a nice run but the Woke VRC has cancelled him.
If The Map can stay the trip into the straight with a wide run, it can hopefully place. Good luck guys. As Lew you are a legend.
The Map definitely can stay the trip and loves Flemington, but Barrier 23 and Mare.
Kovalica for me!!!coming out of the quickest cox plate ever not far away from the epsom winner and seems to be a staying horse as his last win was over 2400 derby Chris Waller suggested to the owners to go on this cups path and D Lane only shows they mean business
Thanks Brian. Is there an article you can link to where Waller is quoted saying, "Kovalica should go to the Cup?" If it's true I have it very wrong.
The prominent owner says the plan was hatched by master trainer Chris Waller, with the horse, who hasn’t won since his Group 1 Queensland Derby victory in May last year, being well supported in Melbourne Cup markets in the last week. Quoted on Racenet
6 of the last 20 cup have been won from cox plate form this year happens to be the quickest ever and I’m sure Kovalica was close to Winx’s time i use that form every year since Verry Elleegant smashed incentivise and has not been the same or since his demolition
And D Lane was supposed to ride VE but some how j Mac got the ride this is the sweetener i don’t listen to and tipster that are sponsored by betting companies as they don’t get paid to tip you winners 😂😂😂
I was team jan bro before they pulled him out must of been to much on him
Onersmoothoperator for me. Looked good winning last start. A roughie? Warp Speed the Japanese are not here for a haircut!
Or a Golden Eagle 🤣
