Luke, mushoku is a SS+ anime. It is deep and funny and serious. Also, it has no openings. Every episode has a totally different "opening" that is blended to the history, so no skip

Do not skip the intros. They are not traditional OPs, they are integrated into the episode. If you skip them you will miss dialogue and sometimes crucial plot points (like in this episode).

Probably worth pointing out that the sexuality in this show isn't just "cheekiness" or "comedy" or "sus" or "questionable". It's an important part of the story. One of the main themes/topics of the show is the exploration of the variety of ways that sexuality affects people, how they view it, how they deal with it, etc.

Exactly this! "Fanservice for fanservice's sake" is not about this show, everything shown here serves either wolrd- or character-building purpose and is not out of place. Westerners tendency to overreact at a slight hint of sexuality isn't helping this show's reputation, but I'm glad he'll get to see and judge it for himself.
worth mentioning while i love this season as the thing that got me into reading this amazing work. the earlier parts can be a bit extra with it. there ARE elements of fanservice to the cheekiness. however very soon the show begins to slap down that behavior. its important to keep an open mind. and the show does a wondeful job presenting real problems honestly in raw form. but it ALSO plays it up. I feel if you can make it to episode 7, thats when the show really starts grounding its perspective
Also worth keeping in mind that back in the old times, sex wasn't viewed as something to shut away and hide from the kids - it was just a natural part of life and while you may go to another room (if you had one) to engage in it, if someone walked by and saw you having sex it wasn't something to get embarrassed over. A lot of poor families slept in the same room (same bed in colder months) and would have sex right there next to grandma and the baby with no-one batting an eye. It just was what it was.
That's answer my questions about this anime, I always thought those H scene are just fan services and I avoid the entire show. I would rather watch hentai than watching another Isekai bullshit.
Don't worry, you'll get to see the world in this series... And I mean the whole world. The world building in this story is insane, and captivating, and everything you'd ever want from a fantasy story.

Hey I have a question for anyone who watched the whole anime : does the mc gets less creepy with time ? I watched 9 episodes and I was badly surprised, the protagonist who is a 50 years old dude try to sleep with a 10 years old, I was okay with the constant fanservice but this was simple repulsive and unacceptable, so I am asking if it's worth continuing or should I drop it now
@@merusotajio2222 Ima be honest he does but slowly now some people might make an excuse that he didn't really mature he just aged but still Pretty F'ed up. His um strange habits die down by the start of season 2 when he is like 15 and by the end of season 2 he becomes pretty understandable person which I personally cried at his success. In the novels he still has perverted moments though much lighter and you can't help but root for him. I hope you give it another chance, but it's up to you.
@merusotajio2222 So, he's not 50. He was 34 when he died and was reborn. By the time in the show you are thinking of happens he would only be just over 40 mentally. Also, he wouldn't even be mentally that age because he was a shut in for 20 years with no mental development at all really. I get your point though, it was not an ok thing for him to do at all. I'll just say it. He is a little scumbag at this point in the show. It gets better though, you just have to give it time.

Please just enjoy it as a fiction and you will be alright. It’s has moments but I personally think the world and the characters around the main character are the star of the show.
The main controversy with the show is the MC and people not separating fiction from life. Some people just can’t separate the two which is valid but should let people enjoy a show and not through around the P word just for watching this.

Have ever read the novels? Because from a Novel reader perspective, it's absurd for you to say that anything but Rudeus is the main part of the story. This whole story is about Rudeus. He isn't a Kirito you can have a POV easily, but an actual character. The whole of Mushoku Tensei is Rudeus developing

The problem man, and that a lot of people don't understand on this anime, is that the idea of this history it's pretty clever, he is not a child, and at the same time, he kinda is, that is the central struggle of his personal grow in the anime, within the problems that he will face, but it's like, I want to have a new chance, but at the same time I can't get out of the mind set, sickened that I form within the years of my old life (traumas, good stuff and so on, and you know that he has a lot of traumas because the first moments of the show). This is the difficult part to understand, it's a more "realistic" if you want to call it like that, version of what would happen if you travel to another world with all your memories intact in a very midd grown up age.
"Oh it's an izekai! Oh I didn't know!" The title of the show is "Jobless Reincarnation" so yeah, it kinda is. 🤣
I'm SO glad you're watching this, I put this on my list of all time favorites right from the first ep! From the great and comedic character interactions, to the stunning visuals (the magic in particular won me over, never get tired of his first ever cast and watching the magic flow threw him, or his first cast of intermediate magic!), and his ending monologue about getting to start over, love this show so much! I'm so excited for next ep Sun!
Fun fact: Roxy is voiced by the same VA as the one for Chika from Love is War, and Rudeus is voiced by the same VA as the one for Aqua (as a child) from Oshi No Ko.

Man, I am SOOOOO happy right now. This is already one of my three favorite anime ever alongside FMA:B and AOT. And if this show keeps up the quality for the entire journey it will likely be my favorite.
Rudeus is easily my favorite anime protagonist ever, he's just so well written.
It really is a shame that a lot of people don't understand Rudy as a character and as a result they unfairly criticize Mushoku Tensei. Having genocidal mass murderers as the main character in anime such as Death Note or AOT is fine, but when a character has realistic intersocial issues stemming from actually relatable real life issue then everyone loses their minds.
Mushoku is the best Isekai ever made by a country mile. Because it, unlike almost all the others, understands what the inherent story potential of "the isekai" actually is, namely "the second chance". It is not just "AN isekai", this is "THE isekai". The grandfather of isekai, the lord of the rings of isekai.
Almost all other isekai treat the second world as escapism. The main hero is unhappy with their life and now they get a new one, and in this new life they're suddenly hot and popular and everyone loves them. The message here is that the world sucks, but its not your fault, its the world that's messed up. They are shallow narcissistic stories that try to stroke the viewers ego, they keep them in the echo chamber of their own thoughts and never force them to re-examine themselves or their beliefs about the world and other people. "you're right, you're great, and if you're unhappy then it's the world that's at fault and has to change, not you".
Mushoku doesn't do this. It understands that the point of the isekai, the second chance, isn't for you to finally get the respect you deserve, but for you to get a second chance at EARNING respect. It understands that while stuff may have happened to you to make you who you are, that it's ultimately up to you to improve yourself. And that doesn't happen overnight. If a person could just decide to be good then a journey was never even needed, a second chance was never even needed. Mushoku understands that who you are is the result of a lifetime of choices, where there were many chances of turning the tide but you took the wrong path each time. And going to back to being a better person requires the same, A lifetime of making mistakes and falling down, but ultimately not giving up, but standing up, and persevering, with the long term reward of slowly feeling better, by slowly becoming better.
Watching Rudeus grow has been an absolute joy to watch, and when I see people hating on the show not because they don't like his character but because they dislike the strawman of his character that they've made in their heads, it just saddens me. This show deserves more praise and awards, I hope you'll love it as much as I do.

The character development, not only of Rudeus, but many side characters as well, is supreme in this one.
The interractions, the subtle messages that amplify the core motif of the whole story.
If you wanna change your life - you've gotta work hard for it, take chances, face your fears, you can't do it alone, you've got to rely on friends and family.

I hope your just talking about anime isekai, because there are sooooo many that are this good in the world. Chronicles of Narnia, Alice in wonderland, and so many others are good examples.
Seriously, there wasn't a single moment where I felt like I couldn't understand Rudeus. All of his actions and behaviours are backed up by a real psychological issue, and I really feel I can relate to him as a shut-in in my own terms. Truth be told his developement gives me some courage that maybe I'll also be able to find a way out of this misery, and I think the story shows a great deal of what's going on in his mind. He never was a bad guy, he was just terribly traumatized by society. Seeing how he cares about his sister that almost went the same route really shines a light on how a different perspective can affect everything. Overall a great show, together with Frieren showing lessons in life.

Not one of the best , I literally watched every isekai , because I am a isekai fan and according to me , Mushoku tensei is in top , not a single isekai can compete to it😅 . The level of world building is just phenomenal. This anime is closest to my heart , I don't no why , but it is. I remember that I watched it in winter of the year and I was depressed but after watching this my whole life turned so to me it is a gem.😊 Because I never waited for any other animes , if they releases I watched it , anime like demon slayer or attack on Titan , for these anime I didn't show that much of anticipation but for mushoku I literally waited. So for me it is a masterpiece.
It wasn't meant to be patreon exclusive, a few frames in 2 or 3 episodes doesn't make it sus, obviously it's a story for mature people.

Too bad the 2nd season cut down on some details from the original, why I'd advise reading it in Light Novel, but the way it made in anime is very well done too. ❤
Day 82 of recommending the Beyblade openings.
There are the Japanese ones and the English ones. The English version has one opening for a generation, and that for the 1st and 2nd generation. The 3rd gen has one op for one season. But the Japanese version has multiple ops for a season in any gen. You should definitely check both versions out. I made playlists on my channel, so you don't need to search, cause in those compilations are a few off and not in the correct order. Thanks for checking out!
The important part to remember for this show is that you are not supposed to like Rudy at the start. Unlike almost every other protagonist from isekai shows, he is deeply flawed, deeply broken, and has severe issues with his personality that he needs to address. The usual trope is that someone is reborn in another world and immediately is super competent, super well liked, and well adjusted. He isn't. This is a story about his growth to become a better person. You are not meant to root for who he is at the start, but who he will become through his journey. As a reader of the light novels/web novel, the character growth he goes through is very well done. Really looking forward to seeing your reactions to the next few episodes. If you thought this first episode was pretty cheeky, oh boy you are in for a surprise.

There's a huge difference from Creating a Genre to Pioneering a Genre to Kickstarting a Trend.
Mushoku Tensei also didn't kickstart the trend as parodies like KonoSuba and subversions like Re:Zero are both older than MT. Sugar coating your bullshit in fancy wording does not make it less bullshit.
MT neither started nor pioneered nor kickstarted isekai as a trend. At least it didn't kickstart it by itself. The whole generation of MT, Re:Zero, KonoSuba and Overlord all came out with only about a year or so between the first and last of them.
MT is amazing and is IMO the 2nd best Isekai but this myth needs to fucking die already. It is straight up disrespectful to the other great authors. Even MT's own author would not spout this bullshit. All of those authors are also friends and drew inspiration from each other. Instead of this bullshit why can't we just appreciate all of them?

Re:Zero didn't get that much attention (despite getting a Lightnovel) until it's Anime adaptation got released in 2015, by then there were already a ton of old & new authors copying the tropes of the Isekai novels from 2011-2015.
Hence, why the boom of Isekai Manga & Anime adaptations that came afterwards.

It's only controversial for stunted perma online twitter freaks. Those with an understanding that fiction isn't reality or a smidgen of literary understanding knows how well crafted the story and world is.
Is it perfect, no. But the world building and journey of a flawed character to make himself a better person with a second chance is one of the best.
Agreed. Those who only think in terms of what fits into our own society and morality are not mature enough to understand what the MC went through... they're also the same to not understand any lessons from the story, for example how you can love multiple people and there is absolutely nothing wrong with that outside of the expected standard (and I absolutely don't mean cheating). Heck, some people that think this anime sucks are ones that would do what MC's enemies did.

MUSHOKU TENSEI, one of those anime I didn't think I would like much but end up liking it so much that I couldn't wait & end up reading the manga, only to find out that the manga was slow and incomplete so I read the entire light novel 😂

Yo G.O.T imma just say this, some reactors end up giving up on Mushoku Tensei because of controversial parts of the anime. You gotta fully grasp and understand everything and keep on pushing through each episode, you'll understand as you watch more. From being caught up, imo its one of my favorite animes for sure. @@Angelp99 I think I stopped at episode 18 and nothing happened at that part but I just thought about all the close ups on the bodies of little girls in the show and decided to stop and do something else.
@@PowerSpirit50 hmm, the only part I can think of that would maybe hint at what you're talking about is with the Beast people in Doldia but those are episodes 14 & 15, which if thats the case then I can understand what you mean. Episode 18 was a completely wholesome episode about Roxy. But damn it sucks you did drop the show because you were real close to episode 21.. from there that's where things turn up immensely. And all imma say about Season 2 since its up to episode 5 atm is 2 words- PEAKshoku Tensei.

For us this story is a fantasy, but for the people in the story, excluding Rudeus, this is reality.. and the worldbuilding is absolute peak, you'll see ♥
EDIT: also it balances some comedy into the story to alleviate the tension, great storytelling as well overall
also the cheekiness - it's fantasy but it's built around medieval times and according to some historians, privacy as we know it didn't really exist in earlier eras; i mean families had many children and often lived in only a couple rooms so... also it's not in every episode and usually it's not even ecchi elements, more of Rudeus's perversion xD

A warning. Rudy has a lot of issues. Even when you think he's healed - that's he's moved past his problems - he hasn't. There deeper stuff that comes out. The whole series is about Rudy's fight for his mental health... and dragons and shit.
Genuine question, does he ever overcome being a pedo? It's why I dropped it personally. If that changes, I might be willing to give it another chance.

Oh, I didn't know this was coming. Season 1 of Mushoku Tensei is maybe my favorite anime ever.
Things will get even more than cheeky, but the pay off will come in the long run when it comes to the overall story. So just let yourself be immerse in the world because you WILL see him progress in many ways.
I had a certain expectation of mushoku. Specifically that it is the greatest isekai out there. And I agree that 90% is amazing. Top tier. But no one in the comments saying its amazing warned me of the controversial parts and I can't pretend that it was ok for me ( girl here). The 1st ep gave me goosebumps bec. I didn't have a clue that this anime had those moments. That I had to stop and watch ouran ( all episodes) just to stop feeling creeped out. I continued it though coz I wanted to believe it could be more and I don't regret it. Its a great anime ( except for the 10%)
This anime is only for mature people. The "cringe" parts are definitely cringe, but it's intentionally that way. You have to be able to see past the obvious and realize the purpose for the plot. I've been a serious anime viewer since the early 2000's and have probably seen around 1000 series. Mushoku Tensei is UNIQUELY compelling and delivers on it's message better than 99% of other series have ever hoped to.

@@The_Tsundere_Hahari yeah, I'm sad that anime cut out some valuable moments that been in the LN, especially in season 2 with Sylphi, the devs rushed her arc so bad that it barely made sense, unlike in the LN.
I understand that SOME parts are hard to implement in anime, given they're mostly in thoughts of characters, and it's also done to save limited time, but it damages the overall flow and deeper understanding of the character development.

Its sad that you will continue this on patreon but i see so many youtubers reacted to this and they didn’t get demonetized or something and you can watch the opening but cut it from the vid when editing so you will not get copyrighted and about the cheeky scenes you can just add some transparent black square blur or something you can also cut the sound if necessary anyways its good that you’ve reacted to this but not all people can access patreon so i think you shouldn’t upload a good anime reaction to it unless its really really needed and you cant do some little tweaks to fix the problem keep up your amazing reaction 😊

Mushoku Tensei was adapted really well from the manga and you just know that voice acting will be good when the main character's voice is Tomokazu Sugita. A real legend.
The manga is not the source material and infact butchers the source quite a bit.
It's adapted from a light novel. From what I hear, the manga is the worse of the three.
It has some raunchy and cheeky moments but they don't typically consume the whole episode so only a few moments here and there will need to be censored throughout the series.
That being said they do also add to the narrative.
By the way, Luke. Since you're gonna have to watch the opening anyway, *you might want to research about splitting audio on OBS.*
I haven't looked into it myself, but I'm pretty sure you can separate the *output audio from the episode* from the *input audio on the mic.* That way it should be easier to mute the opening when you're streaming or cut the audio from the vod without also muting your voice.

Yesterday I watched the Opening & Ending reaction video and today I was surprised to see that there is a new Mushoku Tensei video.
I was about to write a comment to suggest the anime, but there was already a 1st episode reaction video in the same hour uploaded.
The anime is SUS, but it is a masterpiece (in my opinion). Rudeus will be SUS in the whole anime, but the beginning is especially SUS.
The 1st season was divided into 2 Parts. Both has 1 Ending and there are 6 Openings in total.
The Opening & Ending video only contained the Season 1 Part 2 Openings, but you can't really find the official versions Season 1 Part 1 Openings on TH-cam, so it was inevitable.
The only Opening song you missed from the other video was the 1st Opening.
Every song is from the same person as you guessed in the other video.
Each more important Region visited in the anime has an Opening. When they stay for a longer time in a Region, you can hear the same Opening song, but with a different Opening video. So there's like 16 different Opening video, but "only" 6 Opening song.

what makes mushoku tensei so good is that it is real. the sus is there because that is the main character and everything that happens naturally comes to be from the character growing up. we really don't get that in stories in general that often that a character starts young and then grows as a pperson to this degree
What makes Jobless Reincarnation good is the world building. The characters feel realistic...well as realistic as actual people living in a fantasy setting.
Its so well made that every character could very well star in their own anime series.
Sadly a lot of the things in the anime are change and omitted compared the manga and LN like their maids past is something tackled in the LN and manga while a lot of it are skipped in the anime

Outside the sus parts, this seems to be the perfect series for you. There's over 20 volumes covering the main character's story from beginning to death and as someone who read through all of that, you will love this.

Every now and then, I like to rewatch shows by watching reactions or by having them in a separate monitor while I do other things.
Having other people watch the shows I like and hearing about their reactions regardless if it's positive or not is a big thing for me and I assume at least some other people do.
Supporting is another thing but if they're interesting enough, it's not unreasonable to pay to a reaction (a dollar mind you) and keep me entertained for a while.

Not only is it an isekai, it's *THE* isekai. It wasn't the first ever, but it's what popularized a lot of the tropes that get used or deconstructed in others. It's a slow burn story of an entire life.
Rudy's a POS, but he's a good character that does good work and grows throughout the series. He's basically an icon for all the hermit otaku that feel like they've wasted their lives doing nothing. What would you do if you had the chance to restart from the beginning?

Rudeus is not 5 or 6 when he starts using magic like you mentioned there Luke he is around 2 years old when he first starts (remember cognitively he does have the brain of a guy in his late 30's) and he is a good bit into 3 years old when he unwittingly casts that Intermediate water spell and his parents hire Roxy to tutor him. Since you seem to be curious about it and it doesn't contain any spoilers the levels or ranks of magic.
