I covered my doors with tongue and groove put two handles to close doors from inside...then got a bit of chain and during summer can leave doors partly open plus doubles as a security.
Thought of doing similar but with fittings that use the door catch to hold the bar, then to release you just pull the door release catch! Do you think this would work as really haven’t looked into it yet? You set up,is probably even easier.

Defo give it a go mine is a little tricky lining up the pins ,would love to hear how you get on ATB
