If 90s is vintage then Im old as hell 😂
Lol 😂 I was born in 1969 so I guess that makes me ancient 😅
I'm 50.
These kids think it's vintage...
😂
Yesser!
@@appalachianunderground8474 Haha, I'm 74. Afraid to ask, but what's that make me?
@@rdeanmurray8139 dust
I've been living full-time in an 87 roadtrek versatile for the last four years up in Canada. That van rocks.
way cool! I was born in Calgary, Alberta. I'll be there next month. The roadtreks are awesome for sure!! safe travels
I can hear Chris Farley now. "LIVING IN A VAN DOWN BY THE RIVER!"
Exactly my thoughts 😅
HAHHAA classic!
I could not imagine living any other way!!!
Who knew how much fun you can have when you are free to roam.
Hi! I found your channel because a young couple at a grocery store where I parked this morning got all "fan boy" and waited for me... thinking I was you. I run a very similar vehicle to that one. Mine is a 1989 Dodge B250 converted extended top with almost the same color scheme. The disappointment on their faces where real but at least they met a smaller content creator with an awesome personality! 😅
Now following.
😄
The 4x4 Roadtrek 190 Popular is the best kept vanlife secret. We have owned a Roadtrek for well over 20 years total and they have never let us down. Our 2007 4x4 Quigley conversion Roadtrek took us on countless amazing adventures. Comfortable, smooth on and off road, capable and tough as nails. Like I said, best kept secret in vanlife hands down.
My parents loved it because it drove like a car, and easy to park, even on Baja Peninsula beach! Went anywhere like a car. Exchanged their boxy one for an '86 "Roadtrek Versatile" and didn't miss the extra space. The boxy one they were afraid of sideswiping a parked car. Roadtrek easier to wash, but they did have that primer paint recall. They declined the free repair, said it made it less inviting to robbers, especially in the States. You'll regret it if you give it up.
If you really paid 3k for that Roadtrek you got the deal of a lifetime.
Depends on the running gear and what is working. If you went and looked at an old 93 Dodge Van with 200K on it how much would you give for it? It's still just a van. And 90's era RV components will mostly be shot (Even if they work). But I have seen 90's ear Roadtreks in Good Shape being listed around $20K... but not worth it in my opinion. Find a great 2000's Ford or Chev 4x4 3/4 Ton and put your money in that. Then start looking for an 8' camper... so much more bang for the buck. I have not owned a Roadtrek but I have had many vans including Class B.
He sure did get a great deal.
Had one of those 190. The wife bought it when we were looking for land. I was not impressed until we started using it. In the end I dont think you can beat them for run and gun traveling
thats awesome. it is a hard to beat platform for the price they are out there these days, thats for sure!
Even having the option to turning the van into a 4x4 conversion is gnarly. Plus you got more space to play in
yes lots of interchangeable parts so it wouldn't even be too crazy custom!
Insanely expensive to convert to a 4x4. That would require a rig in pristine conditiom that you really wanted to keep a long time to justify it. There would be really no good reason to do it to an old Roadtrek.
These older rigs are going to have way less problems than the new ones, less sensor problems and way less electrical problems ✌️
Reminds me of your good old videos. Welcome back Phill.
thank you I really appreciate that! I have gone through some burn out for sure but exciting to get back to more videos like this. thanks for your comment!
Those old full size vans are great
they are gems!
What I think is…. It’s awesome and when you don’t want it anymore this grandma would love it! 😂
hahah there ya go! lots of them out there!!
It's not his .
It may not go where your Gladiator can but it’s 100 times more comfortable and livable👍
It’s a great camper van! Thank you for sharing this!
That van is awesome! Those old Roadtrek 190s were built like tanks and ran forever.
it seems to be just that so far!!
You sir are a one of a kind.
Never stop being who you are.
Be Blessed
A local car auction I frequent got an early 90s Roadtrek a couple years ago. Now this is one of those auctions at a donation/thrift store in a rough part of town. I expected it to go for like $6k based on previous RVs auctioned off. Hoped for less, but it ended up going for $17k! Granted it was pristine, and would be worth $22-24k at a dealer. Man I wanted it!
Good old Highway 17 Fire show. You are making me miss Arizona summer camping up north
haha right? seems to happen a lot with overheating cars and such
That van looks awesome! Really enjoyed this video 🤙
thank you I had a lot of fun making it and im really happy with how it came together, and the response!
Not bad looks in good shape to enjoy
3K? I can't believe you picked it up that cheap. The ROAD TREK is still a very desirable and in demand vehicle.
We'll soon find out if it's worth it.
my buddy bought it for $3600. he gets all the good deals!
@@Been.Here.Since.2007 Jeremy has owned it 3 years I think. It's been at two king of the hammers so far. running strong!
I would LOVE to have this van to live in!! 🤗
Loveeee that van. It’s perfect honestly
I’m always into vans!🤗
That van is awesome looking forward to seeing some road trips in it.
thank you! back to back videos coming this weekend too!!
Classic Road Trek.
Everything you need.
I have the 2002 Dodge conversion van.
It did the trick a long time.
We outgrew it and got a B+.
Enjoy your Vanlife adventures.
thank you! and thats awesome. you are correct they really do check a lot of boxes, especially the money one!
Enjoyed, also easy to put on pants, Dodge built tuff

We are watching a 'Bambi Bucket'.
Different versions can carry a couple hundred gallons up to a couple thousand gallons.
We called it pumpkin
nice! thanks for the heads up. and yes my firefighter friend after that said pumpin as well @everett3223
Love love love your van, I hope you enjoy it I'm so envious 😊
Sick van! Grew up doing road trips in 90s Chevy/GMC conversion vans. Wish stuff like that was still being made. I got kids now and don't really want a truck, minivan, or 3 row SUV. Give me an old van like this I can tow a little trailer with. Promasters and Sprinters are pricey and less cozy than these 90s beasts.
ya it is interesting how much vans have changed and seems kind of un necessary lol these old things really make ya think haha
Super happy for you dude. The process is gonna be rad.
UK here..I have absolute van envy here.. love this retro utitlatarian bit of kit what a well designed vehicle. love it.
This is a great rig, a lot of room and cozy. I would make sure all fluids are replaced👍🙏🐾
Oh, no! Not just a camper van…but…a ROADTREK!
one and only!
Up your coolness factor by 10
hahaa heck ya!!
Awesome stuff! Can't wait to see what new rig you choose. Been looking for a van but I want it to be able to tow my Tacoma. So I can have my house and my off-road toy
Uncle Rico is DOWN2MOB!
😂🤣😂👍👍
haha heck ya brotherrrr!!
Love the wing windows! They are a throwback for sure, I wish they still were in new rigs!
I meant to say that in the video, they let in SO much air! love them
That was ahead of its time. Very nice for the day. :)
It would be great if I could afford such camper van - especially the usage of it. If money wouldn't be a problem I could drive that all around the world, doing photography everywhere. Having access to different places, that doesn't come for free I can say.
You can afford to do that. Idk who you are but if you have a computer and pay for monthly internet you can probably afford to live in a $3k van, live your dream now! It may turn into a life you could never even imagine
I love it! I've always wanted a Roadtrek.
they are sweet!!
Get some of those Jeep axles under the van and enjoy all the extra space.
that would be so rad to have the UD60's under here! just a liiiiiitle bit of work lol
The funny thing is that is, I'm hot rodding, refurbishing, and upgrading a 37' 1990 Class A Fleetwood, and have found a Dana 70 front drive axle for it. And since it has a tag axle, I'm seriously thinking 6X6 drivetrain. That or a Robson Drive for the tag axle!
But not for heavy off roading, but for soft beach, snow running, and light off roading. But I want it that way so I can put my base camp farther back in for rock crawling in my towed! The real expedition set up rig.
460 EFI &C6 are replaced with a 400hp Cummins and Allison 1000 tranny and limited slip in the regeared Dana 80. Just finished the Victon solar system upgrade so I can go full boondocking.
I've always been a van fan. I converted a 68 Chevy van in the 70s to 4wd for dirt bike hauling and camping. It was a blast!

Digging the soundtrack!
Reminds me of Commander Cody And The Lost Planet Airmen!...
... with a touch of PANAMA RED!
haha thank you I looked a while at a song for this and dug this one too
Really neat van.Enjoy your camping.
thank you!
I owned a 1990 over 6 years, loved it
Ride in the water drop like it's a hot tub! Time of your life baby!!!
wow that sounds insane LMFAO!!!
You're driving it because it's awesome!!!!😊 i want one! ❤
That's so cool that was a good video bro loved it 👍
I seem seen a few videos of those type van. I think they are really cool and I would want one too.
they are pretty popular and neat! you can find them usually pretty cheap in this case, and even for $5-10k usually
Great rig!
As it is right now, I get serial killer vibe if I saw that van, especially if parked on its own in the middle of the wood,. 😲 But if it's restored inside and out, and slapped with a new lick of paint, its an uber cool retro van. Retro design is so in right now.
Dude. For real?! Lol. Well, it looks like its more comfy. Those seats are plushy!
Jeremy's rig is RAD, Phil! I would love to upgrade from my Jeep Cherokee to something like this.
"Why am I driving this?"
Do you need a reason? That thing is awesome!
I use to work for Dodge back in the 1900’s 😂 and had to put a transmission in a camper van just like that. A burned up A518. Had to drop some tanks to do it and what a pain 😂 I did think it was cool back then. I thought it would have had a 360 in it 🤔. Road trek made a decent Rv.
Love it !!
thanks I appreciate you commenting!
I love the van...really nice .....great vid
thank you! I enjoyed making this one a lot!
Your gonna learn a lot as long as you own that thing!😂😂
haha hopefully not too fast
First off I want one. Second off I think you chose it because it’s a special year to you for some reason.
It is a FRIENDs.
Krakkin me up!😋😋Whut in the Shaggin wagon Kool Ol Dodge is that?!!! Sweeeet🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🏁🤙🤙🤙
bahahaha good to hear! glad to have ya along for the shenanigans!
That's a badass Van!
I noticed that Kilt Lifter at the bottom of the fridge. I am actually drinking a Kilt Lifter tall boy as I watch this video. Good choice my friend. Cheers!
The outside is a little rough but I really like the size and layout of the older Roadtrek vans. Other than their age (reliability?), I think it would be awesome.
yes the paint is peeling just a bit!
We have a 99D190P Roadtrek, love it but it’s not very good for serious off-roading. Ours is similar up yours. We took out the Third seat and put 12V large fridge that runs on solar.
My good friend lives in one of those down here in Florida, great van
florida, niiiice! Ya it's got a nice window unit AC cheap to replace if need be!
that thing is awesome
thanks!
Enjoyed meeting you at OEW Mob dude! Your secret is safe with me! Haha 👍
thanks man haha and you'll never guess what dinette im sitting at writing this right now.... ! big updates coming soon!
Waiting for the next episode with new front drive axle installation , rear suspension lift and bolt on supercharger........
hahaha you know me so well
Awesome video
thank you!
Ayeeee I just clicked random on this and was like oh shit Phil got a new crib?!
for now haha thank you for clicking on this randomly and commenting! bonus!
Im loving the adventure. You're transporting it for someone? Cheaper than a monthly payment... 👍
thank you! actually just a good friend who let me borrow it as im in between home on wheelssssiz
@@Down2Mob.
thank him for letting us look see.
Sis and brother in law have one and love it
❤❤❤i love that van!!!

If I was me with a remote off-grid property, I would probably trim all the tree branches up to at least waist-level.
I would move a lot of fuels away from equipment and my residence.
❤❤❤its AWESOME!!❤❤❤
I love my ford Econoline E350 van... I was just givin a 06 f250 4x4 as a donor to axle swap it to 4 wheel drive. Possibly a v12 cummins or keep e 5.4L triton.. it runs perfectly... so I'm on the fence...
Jerry Arbs a friend of mine runs a 77 b200 camper dodge van.. it does really well
The axles from a F350 will be for a narrower frame. You need Van axles. They are wider. You can weld the spring mounts on the axle to new locations. Keep the 5.4, good engine
Awesome van
thanks!
I’m driving a 1991 b250. Love mine.
Thats a sick ride dude
thanks!
I loved it when you had the Dodge ram truck. I followed you shortly with the gladiator this van could be cool.
Camping in the woods after driving by some insane wildfires..........cojones man :)
I would love to have something like that Roadtrek.its an awesome vehicle
You got a good project ! Get in to it.
God for a split second I thought the thumbnail was an image of Phil Margera and his van😂
I liked,shared and s-bbed to your channel brother,I love!!! the van.😎
Camping with the guy from Hangover.
😂😂😂
Man clean that windshield 😂
I would love to have a roadtrek.. When in our old motor home the fridge came open also... eggs and milk ALL over!
😮😮😮😂
This is the wrong audience for a van but they work for those of us that like them. Sure we miss out on some places but we’re in South America in a Promaster seeing what we want to see in comfort.
Cheers from Ibarra Ecuador.
The mullet mobile. F in Canadian.👍🇨🇦
hahaha yeah buddy dont cha know!!
It’s radical dude!
"Ok---first things first, lets clean this super old van out!"
(Expecting deep cleaning)
--Proceeds to leaf blow the van out
Me: "Oh OK---I guess that works?"
That van would be cool solid axle swapped like a Quigley van fix the interior up be a cool camping rig
We bought a year 2000 Roadtrek 5 years ago that had been somewhat abused by previous owners, and the amount of repairs has been crazy. We still like it and use it and the functionality beats all the Sprinter vans I've seen so far (except for feeling more cramped in terms of headroom, and having sub-par gas mileage). More and more I'm starting to have more respect for these older Dodge models (ours is a Chevy 3500 7 liter v8). We've gone a lot of good places off road in ours by getting it lifted 3 inches, having all terrain tires and airing down when appropriate. Still ours feels like a ticking time bomb. Just waiting for the next repair to rear it's ugly head!
Because is cooool af and the price is right
If this guy was a vehicle in one of those Disney cars movies...this would be him. 😅 simple jack.
Im new to your channel. Thank you brother
thank you so much for joining this wild ride! It's just ramping up again haha!
Dam you mobbed that Roadtek bud!! Tilting like the Ifle tower
That thing's cool
What's going on man I just found your channel and Have to say I LOVE the van I'd Ask your buddy to sell it to you so that you can take the Trip right around the country and live the Dream of VAN LIFE All the way
dude thank you for following along now! I have been full time on the road almost 6 years living in different rigs, I've got almost 700 videos telling the story! stoked to have you here

My guess is that will be your rig when the Gladiator sells and you are building the next rig.
I don't really want to spend time building another rig to be honest, I am getting something ready to go!
