I made the plunge a few months ago to buy one and I’ve cleaned and gutted it now I am just saving up to have a few spots welded and then insulate it and so on from there!! With your backyard slope heading towards the house, you should strongly consider installing a Trench/French Drain to divert rain water from ever reaching the house. The French Drain would be easier and wouldn't get clogged from leaves etc in the fall month. I would suggest 3-4 feet away from the house and then put decorative rocks where you've buried the corrugated pipe. There are plenty of you tube instructional videos on how to build Trench/French Drains.

I find leaving moss helps keep the pond water clean. Plants help filter the water. Changing out 1/3-2/3’s water keeps the biome alive. Once I got the right balance the water stays clearer much longer with less effort.
Your little mice are so cute and you take such good care of them- I've never known a mouse to have such a good life. If they provide you company, why would anyone object? It's so sweet the way you catch and release- you are so kind hearted ❤

I finally started. At age 75 I built a beautiful chicken house and run. In the past 5 years I built 3 more and a couple of months ago I enlarged the girls run yo an additional 10 X 25 feet. Two rears ago I learned to machine quilt and have made at least 15 large lap blankets as well as other projects. At 80 I do not plan to slow down. We just ordered a swim spa and plan to live every day like it is my last. You go girl. I have fulfill most of my dreams and have no regrets as to how my life has hone. Enjoy each day.

Yess!! Use the hay for the garden to suppress the weeds and retain moisture :)) Also a good idea to remove the lawn mower battery before winter... At least that is what I have done in the past.

Hannah, I'm crying inside. I'm so happy for you! I've been riding for three years. In two days, I'll be going on an adventure to Utah. I remember being so excited and nervous back when I started. I'm SO glad I learned. The feeling is so freeing and is like therapy. I'm wishing you many safe and freeing adventures! Maybe one day we'll wave at each other on the road!

What you chopped up with the mower was straw. Straw is what remains after wheat and some other grain products have been harvested. You can use it in your garden to put around and between your plants. It is typically used for animal bedding.
Hay is a plant grown for animal food. It is cut green and left in wind rows to dry in the field. Then it is bailed and stored
I love the motorcycle! Just be careful as many drivers do not respect bicycles, motorcycles, runners and pedestrians. Drive defensively.

Hi Hannah. When your tractor, bike or any small engine you have are going to be in storage for a while, run the gas out of them so that the carburetor doesn't get gummed up. I also disconnect and bring lead acid batteries inside so that they don't freeze. Please be careful on your cool new bike.

You’re barefoot a lot. Been learning about grounding lately. I wonder if you find it adds to your well-being and health? Or is it such a norm that you don’t notice?
My son is a firm believer in grounding. I’ve been experimenting with it but it takes awhile to get used to.
I’ve been going barefoot ever since I was a little kid, but only recently (about a year ago) learned of grounding. Personally I don’t see the harm in trying it out! I walk around in fields, parks, out & around the house. I think it improves my well-being! Or maybe there’s other factors that may be in play like just the fact that you’re consciously aware you’re outside & barefoot, feeling the ground, it makes you feel more connected.
I don’t know anything about grounding, but man, I just love to have my feet on the ground 🤗 when spring rolls around I call it feet training to build up my callouses to run around barefoot all summer
@@hannahleeduggan I'm with you Hannah, not into grounding but am barefoot all year round (we don't get the snow you do) so no sole toughening required. Hadn't really realised how much you do until I saw you going barefoot on holiday lots. Just feels better to feel the ground under my feet. :) It is good for your brain though too, your mind has to constantly work out where you are going and how to traverse the terrain. Even though you don't realise it, it is apparently good thinking exercise for it. So go barefoot and become smart!

I feel the same extreme happiness and need to be outside in spring as you do, maybe even more lol. I live in Wasilla, Alaska (by anchorage) and it’s amazing how one day the trees are bare and just have little buds on them and you literally wake up and they are all green and lush no joke it happens over night!! It’s freaking amazing and beautiful. And here there’s lakes and river and stream’s everywhere! I’m from south texas, Corpus Christi to be exact. And it is beautiful there, but nothing compares to Alaska or at least where I’m located.

All you need for the garden gate is a 5 inch by 2 inch piece of wood with a screw in the middle so it swivels around an Deere it in above the gate so it swivels horizontally to open or turns to hold the gate shut. You can put one on each gate to stop them swinging open at you. Hope this helps xx

21:46 - We used to use hay in the winter time to protect our gardens (am not sure if that's common or something random Mom found in our old gardening encyclopedias). We had a massive garden and maybe it added nutrients or protected them from washing away after the thaw? *makes I don't know gestures* I'm currently learning to garden and it's only working here and there so I'm relying mostly on apps.
I'm so happy we will be seeing more of Molly. She's so cute and fun. But of course she is, she's your sister.
