    That’s why I don’t do per mile is because the inconsistency. I love being an hourly hazmat tanker truck driver. $1,800+ gross pay, home every night. Get that bag and come home to my family.

      That’s the move. I’m tanker too, but owner op. I told my coworker who are company that they are making great money. Told them yeah it’s good this way too, but overall right now it’s better that way. Hope they listen because some want to buy trucks. 😂

    Thanks Nia for the info. When I first went OTR in 2001 I was making.32 per mile but we ran over 3500-4000 miles a week back then. Paper logs and we basically filled out the log at the end of the day. Hours of service? Nobody cared just run as much as you want and make that money. Keep up the hard work on the road. To be honest, when all is said and done, being a company driver is the safest place to be right now. The market is not great right now for owner operators as far as rates. By the time you buy your fuel and all the other taxes, we aren't making much more with a lot more risk. But you can get some good deals on trucks right now, but they will get you with the interest rates. Alot of owner operators turning trucks in and getting out of the business.

    i used to drive 48/Canada then I switched to Hazmat, when I was a driver. I hauled liquid gases such as argon, carbon dioxide, Oxygen and Hydrogen., the danger is more real just like a hazmat tanker driver but you go through extensive training before rolling on your own. pay up to 110,000 per year at hourly rate here in ca. of course living expenses are more.

    I am so sad. I tried applying at KLLM last Monday. Was looking forward to working for them. But they can’t train me to my CDL cause they’ll isn’t accredited for California. Like I was doing all the research from your channel to people putting up reviews. Like I was so looking forward to joining the team. If I thought you had any pull with them I would beg you to tell them to get accredited out here in California so I can get hired. So jealous.

    I was with KLLM in 2014-2015. I wasn’t making no where near that. As time went on I got my own truck and made over 100k a year for 5 years. Now the company I’m with is ok for now. It’s funny how our paychecks look very similar. I’m with Epes Transport. Keep up the good work! Always take care of yourself..✨✨✨✨✅👍🏾

      @@Floridaboifletch You 100% right ! That’s all I hear these days and I just ask one question! What’s your financial routine? Not many seem to have one. Mostly people want more money so they can spend more. I was taught early by my trainer. Always focus on what you can keep. Not what you can make. I lived on the 70/20/10 rule. It worked out for me for over a decade.
      I never chased the money. I took what I made broke it down and kept going. Everyone I know now complains about what they want to make. I tell people to save 1k a month every month without fail into a savings. I did consistently for 12 years into a savings account. Never took one deposit out. You can do the math. Then I invested 20% . I never changed the formula. I have no debt. My home was built and never bought expensive cars. You have to be humble and you will be just fine living modest. All the people who chase a so called bag find out that it’s a hole in it. The hole is from their own hand.🤷🏾‍♂️

    • @Floridaboifletch
      @Floridaboifletch 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Jamal33270 I’m new in the game, but I see that if I want to actually make something out of this, I have to make a decision to get rid of all the debt and get back into a situation where I’m actually seeing my money stack (which I have done).
      I’m all in, I don’t need a split if I don’t really have nothing weighing me down. I’m just giving things time from there to grow and mature.
      Luckily I’ve already had a lot of fun before stepping in the truck. So I’m not really interested in spending a lot of money and I’m not really interested in a relationship right now. It’s just me and this road and time.
      I’ve made mistakes and only time will correct them. But I just pray everything goes well for me, I like trucking and can’t wait until I can wake up and have more financial options than the ones I have now.

      @@Jamal33270 and you really hit the mail in the head with the hole being their own hand. Man, I really just want to be a company driver. If I can’t make my money and can’t see returns on my investments, I’m not chasing the leases and all that. The money sound good, but mastering the small money will get you to the big money.

    Just so yall know. Alot of places your dispatchers arent actually the ones giving you the loads, theyre just your handler and a middle person between you and another who is booking your loads. Also I have been in an office and was in the middle of conversating with dispatchers that where having others communicate for them just cause they had to many issues with their driver. Sitting and running non optimal runs is apart of this job.

    I was told by KLLM that they are in an indefinite hiring freeze right now. The school is also months out. I was really disappointed because I wanted to train and work for this company

    Hey just a little tip for ya. If u want to drive a beautiful set up. Look into western distributing out of Colorado. Best damn looking set ups I have seen no joke. I’m not sure how far east they hire but it would be worth the shot.
