Nice break down very eye opening thnx for the time doing this. much appreciated. ATS sounds like a great service as I was watching I thinking how do you pick out an account that understands trucking. Are you able to pay extra on the truck when you have a great week or say you saved for the taxes and after tax season you have extra and you want to put that on the truck?
Nice... I had a few of those size checks on the company side as well. Hoping for more miles as we work our way out of this mess. Thanks for stopping by.
@pridemizzle1565 economy is bad now miles are low at every company reefer or flatbed doing the best right now just stick it out I'm coming to kllm from crete
Hang in there, it gets greater later. It’s the worst I’ve ever seen at the moment. Freight’s very slow. I’m kllm southeast, still running my 2014. Be safe out there.
Doesn't seem to me like a very good deal. If you're paid $1.60 a mile on a load when KLLM gets $4.00 revenue you're breaking your back for them, not for yourself. What happens at the end of your lease? Do you walk away or have a balloon payment on the truck? Is it a new truck?
Well that is based on a lot of things. Wife, Family, financial obligations and needs. If it's been a goal or dream, I say go for it. I did and it's been the best decision for me. The only downside is being away from family, but we are making it work, knowing it's just a stepping stone. stevesliff@gmail.com if you want to talk more in depth.
So I was going to get my CDL thru KLLM earlier this year but something came up. I was wanting to try again in a few months. I remember watching your videos when I was going to go, I went on there website just now and their lancaster school has been removed... any idea why?
Its closed temporarily. With Freight being down right now, they are just using the Indiana and Mississippi schools. More freight located in those areas.
Wow, Well I Really Hope You Do Can Go Over 3500 Miles Every week to make your check Worked out Good. Me As A Company Driver I get paid $ 0.64 CPM, My driven mileage last week was 4192. My check after Taxes was $2200.00. Of course I don’t drive that many miles every single week even I’m able too, dispatch sometimes impide that to happen, but not thanks, I won’t lease or buy a truck At this moment. 😉🙏🏻
.64 × 135k = 87k ... you have no up side though your told go or sit on a load over the weekend. .your sitting. .plus he can give a raise about 30k a yr after he finsh his lease ..as a company driver your not getting a 30k raise ..bring facts to the table ..
Yeah. I had a couple of settlements that ended up like that with the way they closed out. Those checks were nice, but not often at all. I should do a comparison on driver vs lease video. Thanks for the idea and thanks for watching and please keep doing so. Be safe out there.
@stevesliff I was looking more into KLLM after your response and spotting one of their million miler trucks at this stop that I'm at. Pretty nice setup if one is dedicated enough. I had a conditional offer of employment with KLLM, but I went with IWX which is not a bad company either as long as you have your hazmat/tanker of which I do not and with the way Texas is setup, a simple endorsement test can take months to get done.
Just estimated at this point. I was at 3400 at the time of the video. Looks like it will closer to 3700. I have only had one settlement. The second is tomorrow. I will gather the PPM after I get it.

Enjoyed the video Steve! Thanks for the info
You are doing a great job with the channel!! 👏
Thank you. I appreciate the support.
Unfortunately for me KLLM is not hiring in Texas at this time...I am really bummed.
Sorry to hear. I thought they opened it back up. Maybe keep checking back, it has to be coming back soon.
i am happy for you !
Thank you for that!
ATBS worked well for me
I did 3500 miles as a company driver at KLLM and brought home 1900 bucks
Nice... I had a few of those size checks on the company side as well. Hoping for more miles as we work our way out of this mess. Thanks for stopping by.
@@stevesliff ya my miles haven’t been awesome lately but still liking the company

Thank you for the encouragement. I am pretty positive and can see it getting better in the future. You be safe too.
Super helpful. Thank you

What happens at the end of your lease? Do you walk away or have a balloon payment on the truck? Is it a new truck?
What portal app you use for your recites and settlement ?
Its ATBS Accounting. Have a nice app I can upload it all. Contact info is in the description if you are interested.
Are you on a guaranteed pay or by miles based? And if so what account are you on?
I am on mile pay and work on the Ecoshield account. It is the Hazmat division.
Can use the muddflap app to save on diesel
Nice, Will have to get that. Thank you.
Would you recommend someone in their early 50's getting into trucking?

Is it only freightliner that they lease or do they lease out peterbilt and kenworth as well?
They lease all the models. Just have to have them available. The usually put them for lease around 150K Miles.
@@stevesliff thank you!
What is your truck governed at on the pedal and on cruise control now that you’re on lease
Pedal is 68 and Cruise is 70.

Hey Steve, just wondering what trucks do KLLM have for lease? Do they come barebones or do they at least come with a fridge and inverter?
@@syntax_mode They have Peters and FreightLiners. They do have inverters and fridges. I should do a video and run through the truck. Thanks!

As a lease operator, are you able to book your own loads or do you still have a dispatcher?
We do not have a load board. We can reject loads and get another if we choose to do so. Thanks for stopping by.
Im about to start on the company side soon, is the $100 paid time off tax free like per diem? Or is that taxable income?
The home time is taxable. The per diem is only when you are away from home.
@@stevesliff what is the per diem away from home? Is it like a food allowance?
You would make more leasing at Giltner inc
How many miles was that on and whats your profit on all miles
Just estimated at this point. I was at 3400 at the time of the video. Looks like it will closer to 3700. I have only had one settlement. The second is tomorrow. I will gather the PPM after I get it.
Do they pay Practical miles or zip code to zip code
Pretty close to Practical.
Do you get to choose your own loads?
We do not have a load board. However we can deny loads and get another.
How long is the lease?
49 Months

A real driver will not be on youtube.
That comment make no sense, but everyone has their own opinion!
Real truck drivers are busy hauling freight. The truck stops drivers are are at the truck stop and complaing
