What's really happening? A government that doesn't let 0.3% of its entire population die just so some Fortune 500 trust fund babies can make an extra billion, like your government did. This is what saving tens of millions of people looks like, oh and they also had better fiscal years without the central bank printing 30 trillion USD to prop up the oligarchs, again like your government did.
To be honest, right now the rural areas of China are the safest during this era of Covid. Look at Shanghai. I pray that cases go down soon and the lockup is lifted. The Shanghai local government wasn't well prepared for the logistical problems faced when locking down such a big city. Perhaps the Chinese Government can send food and necesssities from provinces not under lockdown to help the people of Shanghai? And get battitions of PLA soldiers to distribute food to the residents, since local food delivery services are overwhelmed right now.

Mike, I’m in shanghai also. The only hope for food is to stay in close contact with your community. Group buys are the only way we can eat. Supposedly these will be stopped in a few days as well as they will try to push us back to the food purchasing apps so get what you can while you can. Gov subsidies are coming in as well and you should have gotten two packages by now. Best of luck.

Since almost my relative and friends in Shanghai are pretty much freak out now. I am really sorry to see the situation getting worse. But there is always good days ahead of us. Hi Mike! I am from Hong Kong. We had horrible days a couple months ago. All citizens were crazy and the government was incapable to deal with the sudden rise of cases. We had the highest death rate in the world. Feel so sad for the elderly. They weren’t taken care after infected. Luckily, It’ll be better 1-2 months later eventually. Add oil! Pray for Shanghai!
We are lucky “comparatively” as there is no lockdown in Hong Kong. Cases peaked in less than a month and coming down quickly. I guess the length of cycle is similar to Shanghai even without such a lockdown. Everyone is now trained to do rapid testing themselves. social distancing measures are about to relax. There is alternative way to deal with the situation. I don’t know why the Chinese government did not learn from Hong Kong as they did send a lot of experts here. Shanghai needs freedom that it deserves!

My parents also live in Shanghai. And no meat at home since 3days ago. And they say that they still have a piece of salted meat (Chinese version of ham) at home. And they are still quite positive and optimistic. They also got some eggs, and dairy from group shopping. Love your video for the documentary and the little happy touch at the end, waiting for more! couple of months ago, our whole family got covid including my 4 years old daughter, so we were doing ART daily, toward the end, my daughter was the pro. She would conduct the test for everyone. Her steps are: " twist twist in the nose, mix mix in the tube, squeeze squeez to the test." We are in Singapore, the covid is pretty much over here, travel and life go on as per normal. Hopefully soon for everyone in China.

I have also joined the volunteer team for our building as our building has locked down after confirmed cases were found the day before yesterday and our compound has been locked down for 22 days up to now. It has been straight negative in my compound. And I don't have high hope the quarantine would be lifted any time soon. And hey Mike I'd suggest your joining the joint purchasing wechat group of your local community, where you might find some good stories, something noble and caring, which I never thought would existed in big cities.
I love Shanghai and the Chinese people, my children were born there, we now live in Sweden. I just watched your video about hair transplants. Reminded me how top notch medical care has been for me, China is not what people outside of it expect, nor are its people. Just wanted to add that I cannot believe people were mentioning your hairline prior to your procedure, I thought you looked good and I can see the difference between now and then so it was worth it if it makes you feel more confident but I wish you had not felt bad about peoples comments.
It's hard to juggle right now like doing the vlog, work and keeping food on the table. Almost all the people living in Shanghai are going through the same experience. Covid is horrible but it does teach us a few things, like officials are not trustworthy, people barely talking in the community prior to the crisis can really be together and helpful. It's always the average folks that form the very core of our society not those few on top.

couple of months ago, our whole family got covid including my 4 years old daughter, so we were doing ART daily, toward the end, my daughter was the pro. She would conduct the test for everyone. Her steps are: " twist twist in the nose, mix mix in the tube, squeeze squeez to the test." We are in Singapore, the covid is pretty much over here, travel and life go on as per normal. Hopefully soon for everyone in China.

@江某 对，你说得没有错，美国这波确实死了那么多人，防疫也做得不好。 但是美国统计死亡人数的标准不一样，目前在美国，不论医生认定是否直接死于新冠病毒，任何新冠病毒患者的死亡都被计入公开报告中的新冠死亡病例。如果把这套标准放回上海，粗略的计算我想应该是这样的， 上海一天死亡的总人数-死亡者中未测得新冠人数=新冠死亡病例。你想想上海每天有多少人去世，意外的，其他疾病的（癌症，心血管疾病等等），如果检测出新冠病毒，就归为新冠死亡病例，那人数会有多少？所以美国死亡病例中很大比例都是有基础疾病的。所以有美国医生认为““在流行病中，人们会认为每一例死亡都与新冠病毒有关。但事实并非如此。总的来说，当人们回顾病例说明并确定因果关系时，他们意识到他们会高估与疾病相关的病例死亡率。”

I love Shanghai and the Chinese people, my children were born there, we now live in Sweden. I just watched your video about hair transplants. Reminded me how top notch medical care has been for me, China is not what people outside of it expect, nor are its people. Just wanted to add that I cannot believe people were mentioning your hairline prior to your procedure, I thought you looked good and I can see the difference between now and then so it was worth it if it makes you feel more confident but I wish you had not felt bad about peoples comments.

It's hard to juggle right now like doing the vlog, work and keeping food on the table. Almost all the people living in Shanghai are going through the same experience. Covid is horrible but it does teach us a few things, like officials are not trustworthy, people barely talking in the community prior to the crisis can really be together and helpful. It's always the average folks that form the very core of our society not those few on top.
