You & Alex are so great! Really grateful for ambassadors like the two of you as well as other TH-camrs who are spreading the truth about China rather than negative, slanderous propaganda about China. I discovered Cyrus’s channel at a time when all you see on TH-cam are negative & slanderous videos about China. It was such a breathe if fresh air & relief to see there are objective & clear headed people, especially more special when they are westerners, who are able to do these videos to show a different side of China that are not just propaganda & slander. I am very thankful for TH-camrs & ambassadors of peace like yourselves!! Thank you & forever grateful! Continue this important & very much needed great work!

I've visited China four times and saw different regions. Every time I've visited... I've seen big improvements. I would even be bold enough to say that the major cities in China are now overall cleaner looking than the major cities in the US.
For one example, I've visited public parks in Dalian and was amazed at how clean they look. No litter or graffiti anywhere... even the skateboard rink looks clean. And there are lots of people out there enjoying the parks... but seem to have respect for the facilities there. Where I live, public parks are often vandalized and abused.
When I return home and tell my co-workers about my travels to China.... they refuse to believe me or the pictures I took. They just want to believe that I was shown around a "fake city" built for showing tourists. The fact that I was walking around these cities unescorted... still won't change their beliefs. No, these people still want to believe that China has "backward smoggy cities, where everyone still rides bicycles and wear grey old clothes because they are all poor and starving". I often hear ignorant statements such as: "The poorest Americans still live better than the average Chinese". The irony is these people never traveled to China or even want to watch these videos. And yet... these folks talk like they are all "China experts'.
Very sad... and infuriating at the same time.

US is the only country which set up military bases round the world and pressure others to do their bidding/interest. Well it was 2005 and youtube hadnt Channels like yours so i had no Idea what I will meet there. I was so impressed how I was welcomed by the strangers in the streets. In Shanghai I wasnt able to read my booklet I got with historical chinese Textes my friend gave me (in English of course). All the students in the Parc were coming to talk with me. So China for me was love at the first view (or maybe feeling). I felt at home there. Since that time I was several times in different places in China but my Experiences always were the same. So you were right saying go to China see it yourself. I guess that would help a lot! I am so much hoping to be back as soon as possible. So many places are waiting for me to be explored.

The river mouth saw Western Gun Boats and Japanese warship sailing through, and it saw the western nations carved many small nations/or concessions not far from that river bank, and it saw a sign with "Chinese and Dogs are not allowed" in front of those concessions. @@francisarinze6928 Pained with boredom at the repetitive "mainstream media" trope. I, too, am happy to see the streets of Shanghai alive and bustling after the COVID tragedy. Maybe I should be asking, what exactly do you think "the mainstream media" is saying about that contrasts with what we see here? Maybe you refer to the more serious concerns about Xi's government? Do I need to list them here? But one has nothing to do with the other. Nobody suggests Shanghai is anything but a prosperous modern cosmopolitain city. In fact, whenever Shanghai gets attention in "mainstream media," it's to highlight Shanghai's remarkable growth and modernization, even using terms like "miracle." Nobody disputes that. So when I see comment after comment implying the mainstream media is strictly anti-China, including lots of comments suggesting China is a utopia and the United States, specifically, is a country of anti-Chinese hate, I feel compelled to push back against that false narrative, because I think it's harmful.
Only later did I realize that this entire comment section is just a big echo-chamber, and that neither foreigners nor average Chinese citizens are represented here, so I was really just wasting my time, but I'm glad for that. Average Chinese citizens know their government sucks, but they're blocked from TH-cam, and average "Westerners" know there's a difference between average Chinese citizens and their sucky government. So who am I persuading? I don't know. Maybe some Chinese student with a VPN? I doubt any foreign racist rednecks are watching this video. Or maybe if only one of the countless Chinese internet trolls can see that "the West" isn't out to get them, and that nobody wants to make war on China, I won't have wasted my time.
