I purchased a 2015 Boxster GTS the first of December 2017. It is a CPO Porsche with just over 20,000 miles. It has just about every option available on the GTS including a backup camera. The build sheet shows an original price of $101,840.00. It is Carrera White with Black all leather interior. I traded my 2014 BMW Z4 35is in on the GTS. I’ve driven Z4’s since 2009. From my experience I can honestly say I’ve not had any regrets moving to the Boxster! I absolutely love this car! The PDK transmission is fantastic! I was originally looking at a Boxster with a 6 speed manual. I’m so glad I took a chance on the PDK! This is my first Porsche and I think I picked a great one! @MotoManTV I think you’d be interested in knowing I used Dave Ramsey’s principals to make this purchase. It’s mine free and clear! You should have seen the look on the finance managers face when I told him there was no lien on the Z4 and that I’d be paying the difference in cash! #livelikenooneelse #babystepseven
That's what I love about Porsche, the options. Expensive but very fun to order. And they're worth it. On top of my list for the Cayman GTS were PDK, the full bucket seats, PCCB and the Burmester Sound System. As for color, GT Silver with the GTS exterior package.
I ordered my gts 2 weeks ago , i will have to wait 3 months to get it but i guess it is worth the wait ! Saw ton of reviews but yours i guess was the best . I have to admit choosing the options was hard lol plenty of options !! I picked the racing yellow as an exterior colour with satin black rims not the turbo thw , they barely turn to black so i chose the Carrera s wheels . The interior i chose is leather with alcantara , black , smooth finish leather with no carbon , i swapped it with the interior package painted , the sport chrono stopwatch , the instruments dials and the seat belts as well so it is black and yellow from the inside and the roll over bar in yellow . There is a lot more options but these are the main features . Cant to wait to get my hands on it !
Another Superb episode, fella. Porche are THE premier car company when it comes to persuading customers that options are actually essentials.
Your comparison of percentage on base price is spot on. The package as you present in the video is gorgeous! Must have all options ;-) Value for money - must be taken aside for this argument.....
adaptive sport seats plus is a must for me, the human-maschine interface. I don't have PTV as I don't go on the racetrack where it makes a difference. But even if you don't take any options, you'll have a blast with this car. Hardcore Porsche enthusiast might even prefer no options at all
If we're really talking gotta have, then it's easy: Manual transmission, sports exhaust, PASM, 14 way power sports seats with PDLS and Premium package, Sport Chrono with PCM, Sport Steering wheel, infotainment with Bose and Voice control. $75k
PDK, Torque Vectoring, and those wheels! Too sexy to pass on.
Luv the color; keep original wheelsand seats: get PTV and gotta have three pedals!
I'll play along. 2016 981 Boxster S, (Not GTS) Manual 6sp, GT Silver, Full Leather, Leather Steering Column, PTV, PASM, Sport Crono, Sport Seats w/memory, Bose/Navi/Tele Pkg., Folding side mirrors. .. Done.

i would dump the infotainment package, keep Porsche Torque Vectoring and the PDK
Having thought about this long and hard (haha :) ), if I could only pick one option, it would be the paint job - because there is nothing more unsatisfying than having to look at a car all the time you can't identify with.
Your Porsche dealer will tell you that you don't need torque vectoring, because you would have to kick it reaaally hard until you eventually notice a difference, i.e. you probably never will. And the more Boxster vids I watch, the more I feel the rear view camera might actually be a beneficial add-on :P
The options are 35% of the actual base price of the car.
I think I would pay the extra for that color and wheels. PTV and the Sport Suspension option (free). Convenience package (heated seats) and just keep the base sport seats. Roughly $6200 in options.
+MotoManTV have you ever seen the optioned leather vent slants(A/C & heat)? I've seen painted but never the leather…

Mine is White with red interior and a red top. Additional options were almost 25k. At almost 80k and I still don't have a backup camera. Amazing car but Porsche needs to dial back the options list and include the back up camera with the $3,990 infotainment package with sound package plus.
I would definitely take the PTV and PCM with telephone module. But to be honest, I don't think they sell any Porsche in base trim. In the Netherlands most Porsches are sold with more then one exclusive feauture at least.
What exactly is the GTS interior package?
Porsche options are literally hilariously ridiculous.
I'd go with PTV, sport seats and sports exhaust.
Quick question.. I noticed you don't seem to have any videos featuring BMW's... why is that? Just wondering is all. Love your videos! And I would definitely have to have the Porsche wheels, that red paint because it's simply to die for, and the bose sound.

he didn't even mention the sport plus package and sport exhaust which are fitted. Pause the video at 5:15 you cans the options next to the gear selector.

You know its gonna be a good one when the contender is a Porsche . . . ;)
I'll start with the color, I'd have mine in Palladium "Silver" over a brown top with Turbo wheels. I love that color, feels special & its very rare here ... Unlike Red or Blue, today alone I saw a Carmine Red Panamera, Guards Red 911 & an Impulse Red Macan.
Then, PTV & sport exhaust & I'll change the button's color & center gauge to match the exterior color ... You know, the cool TechArt stuff.
Black leather with aluminum trim because I don't like the Carbon Fiber Weave Porsche uses.
Finally, badge deletion & that would be it.
But to be honest, if I'm spending a 100k on a sports car... I'm getting a Viper GTC! BMW's Pure Metal Silver over Black leather (& black headliner with a stainless steel trim) with Stryker wheels & TA spoiler . . . :)

Err... there is a reason why the rims are so "cheap": The GTS comes with 20" Carrera S wheels as standard. But for a non-GTS Boxster, that is already an upgrade. So if you option the turbo wheel starting with a GTS, they are about 800 Brit Pounds extra; but if you spec them for a base Boxster, they would be 2800 Pounds! That will be the reason why they were more expensive on the Macan...

having had this car for 4 months now with a very similar options but 6 speed, it is actually a bargain for what you get. no one realizes that porsche engineers build the best sports cars aside from ferrari, aston etc and don't care about what it costs because everything is better. I though my e class merc and m class bmw was awesome but my boxter gts as a function of "quality" of materials is much better. as for the drive, this is the only car I have ever driven less than 40 mph and had fun driving. I though porsche was a bunch of BS all my life and now realize that there is no substitute for porsche cars..
ever drive a car that rotates around your hips?, drive a boxter or cayman and you will be humbled...yeah the 911 is legendary but the boxter and cayman are much more fun due to the mid engine..
My 987 is the same, how Porsche can make a car that is engaging at 30 mph is beyond me
@Mars resident. .. I'll 2nd that. .. My '98 993 C2S coupe is the bomb, however, Meine Frau's '16 981 Boxster GTS is another dimension. .. Yeah,, the air-cooled 993 Coupe brought me to the party. .. It's the 981 mid-engine cabriolet I'm going home with. .. Porsche. There is no substitute.

73k for an interior worse than C7 corvette or jag f type S..... im not feeling it especially the performance deficit between the C7 vette to boxster.
justin bouche lool, the porsche interior is soooo much better than the C7 interior. You have definitely never felt the new porsche interior
kilik92 ***** seeing as you have not been in a boxster with a price tag under 73K (i take it from that ignorant comment) the porsche brand relies heavily on options, same with the 911, caymen, and boxster. the interior of a BOXSTER and 911 is PLASTIC and cheap "Styrofoam" feeling dash materials if you want a boxster with a great interior you will need around 30K in options, hey just the other day i had a 911 carrera S (red black wheels) and it was a stripper porsche coming in at 90K the expanse of plastic was bothersome to me seeing as i had just detailed a C7 with the 3LT package at 70K the leather on the dash felt as soft as the leather on the 911's seats, the nav screen had modren looking display, and the nobs were coverd in rubber / leather un like the 911's.
now im mostly talking about the 911 here the boxster is far worse, the whole center stack that runs to the floor has cheap rattly buttons made of plastic, the inside door map pockets are hard plastic, the underneath where your legs rest are plastic....
sorry but i think the badge is blinding you guys to see the truth, please GO INTO THESE VEHICLES before posting.
Justin Bouche - been in multiple versions of both the c7 and the 981. Granted that the c7 interior s up to par with the best. Also driven a F type. Both the vette and the jag were too big and fat for my taste. Decent GTs but not roadsters by any stretch. The 981 is a much more competent built for purpose canyon carver, and in the GTS or Spyder trim it is very fast indeed.
a car like this needs a manual box so that's the option i'd choose
Torque vectoring and PDK, for me. All the rest are poser options...
