I would happily take 12 seasons of this show over any other dating show. The realness and honesty - and I'm just so proud of everyone on this show just trying their best to be themselves and put themselves out there.
Right? If "normal" people were half as earnest and honest, dating shows would be so good. Everyone on normal dating shows are so fake--this was such a human, relatable show. Everyone can identify with the feelings, these stars just have to work harder at communicating those feelings that the rest of us don't give enough attention to.
Agree!! I can’t even watch the dating shows for so-called ‘normal people’ but the people in this show are just fantastic 🤩 Michael is 100% right, being on the spectrum is not a disability, but a gift. I have found that I like people on the spectrum much more than people who are not on the spectrum, to be honest. They are so much more kind, authentic and the opposite of selfish, and they can teach the world something very valuable that no one else can. I hope they all find their one true love🌻 💚

Mark is a true gem of a man. His passion and relentlessly optimistic outlook on life and love is sincerely inspiring. I desperately hope that he finds a woman who deserves all that he has to offer (and she better love dinosaurs! ) 🦕🦖

I don't agree with her when Andrew got the text from the woman who said she didn't want to meet him soon because she was going through personal stuff and she told him that she really just didn't like him and think he was "boyfriend material". How tf is she supposed to know that. Seemed mean.
@@MULLETMAN235 I thought that advice was absolutely on point. It's not mean, it just means that person didn't find him boyfriend material for themselves. A lot of people use that excuse to soften the blow, instead of being 100% honest, and I think that gives people false hope and keeps them hanging around longer than they should bother. I think she's great to give them that advice straight up, I wish someone had laid it out like that to me in my 20's.
They are all stars, the brother is well cool, Mum and Dad are great and Michael expresses himself better than most people I have ever met and with complete sincerity

He's genuinely really good. I feel bad for him as he is so talented in that area but doesn't have any employability skills whatsoever. I doubt he would be a very competent illustrator, deadlines, briefs, meetings, training, etc. But he is an amazing artist.
I'm the spectrum myself - I found this show a very realistic, very humane piece of storytelling. It respectively showed young adults at different levels on the spectrum with the producers clearly acting in a supportive role.
I had mixed feelings about it as someone on the spectrum. It was a refreshing change in some ways like the use of infinity symbol instead of the puzzle piece as well as clearing up a lot of myths the audience might’ve believed to be true. However, it was a bit cringe when the narrator and non-autistics didn’t use identity first language even though the autistic people on the show did. I also wish that they showed at least a few NT- ND dates not solely autistics dating other autistics. Most of the people I’ve dated were not autistic. To me, both relationship dynamics are valid and can work. They should get autistic people in production and possibly editing. Otherwise the series is a step in the right direction with really great stars and a pretty straightforward and genuine take on their dating lives. I hope that if they make another season, it’ll take criticisms into account to make the show even better.
@@bunnybaker2289 I agree! My biggest criticism of this show was that it put people with ASD in a sort of "box" like they can only date other people with ASD. My boyfriend of two years has ASD and is the sweetest, most genuine, and caring person I have ever dated. We view the world very differently but I think that is a huge strength in a relationship because we bring things out in each other we wouldn't necessarily do if we saw the world in the same way. I was very disappointed to see there were no "mixed" relationships portrayed in this show.
Bunny Baker I also found it a bit cringey that they introduced everyone with the super stereotyped way of listing their special interests and their sensory issues (as dislikes or whatever their terminology was.) Laughed too when the other girl- man am I bad at names- said she’s bisexual because my first critique was “No way are this many autistics heterosexual!” I know we got the super cute girl/girl date but... seems like a strikingly high number of us are queer. Also lots of us fall somewhere on the asexuality spectrum (I know I do. I’m also a lesbian and I’m not incapable of attraction but it’s so rare I find that to be much more limiting than my autism in terms of dating really. It’s always like... do I hope maybe an attraction develops or...?) I think forcing this autistic to date other autistics thing was also rough because while obviously it’s a spectrum, a lot of the guys seemed to be in a very different place on the spectrum than the women and that seemed to be an unspoken but obvious issue that popped up repeatedly. They definitely did a good job trying to match people in that sense but eh... I do think it might be hard to get neurotypical folks on the show and there’s always the risk of weird fetishists (which I don’t know that that’s a major thing with autism but as someone who has physical disabilities, it’s always something that crosses my mind. Anyway, in some ways the show was better than I expected. But it wasn’t without issues.

But could it be that the people on the show had little to do with that? I have no idea about film production, but from a few other short docuseries I saw (example: afflicted, the tiger king), it's not scripted and they're not trying to change things - they just follow people around. Could it be a tendency of the communities they happen to film in to try to put neurodiverse people together as potential dates? I was pretty surprised by the number of such events. Maybe I'm just naive, I think of the book "how to not be wrong" and how it points out that a series of 1 3 9 2 2 appears more random to us than 1 1 1 1 1, even though it has exactly the same probability. Just think of college flyers with the obligatory group of people of mixed ethnicity and gender - it represents "everyone" because it was designed that way. If one took a photo of a random group of people on campus, probably wouldn't look like that. So I think it's possible they tried to select a group of diverse people on the spectrum, but didn't ask beforehand: so, are you looking to date only autistic people or only neurodiverse or only disabled or any person? But that begs the question why the producers didn't Ask them why they're only going on dates with neurodiverse people so far. Additionally what I'm confused by is if they would only date autistic people, why it's important to learn superficial things like shaking hands and pulling up the chair? I get the general dating advice like ask them about their interest and talk about your own, so you both have an idea whether you're a match, that's what you'd tell any friend who might go off onto a monologue about themselves or ask questions like it's a job interview. But all the form stuff? Is it to give people confidence/structure to feel more comfortable going into a date because it feels more like "I got this"? Anyway, just wondering.
He is a very sweet guy and, as in all of the subjects, the honesty leaps out at you. He’s very kind and caring and I really hope he finds someone to love who loves him.

I think it was all that vintage 1950s/1960s TV he indulges in that made him that way. He talks like someone from one of those shows- and that's a good thing! Those were great eras of TV! Very warm, fun, and uplifting.
Bro, watching the scenes with Mark made me feel some kind of way I've never felt before. He is just so so nice that I found myself desperately wanting him to find happiness. Like, down to my core I just really like him and want him to do well in everything, and I've never felt that before, that I can recall
@Bacon Eater Mark's sincerity , kindness and purity is so real and infectious it actually causes our hearts to be humbled and overwhelmed every time we hear him speak or interact on the show, he touched us all deeply that is the best way I can describe it I have had the same experience as you :)
She's not that bad to be fair. High social intelligence and iq. Could hold down a job for example and won't need to be dependent on her parents her entire life

Love them all but Michael the most. One thing i love about them is they are so genuine about their feeling, and won't be afraid to say it. That's what lots of people can't do.

Mark is such a great guy! He's an absolute sweetheart and sooo articulate, he has a way of finding the right words! ❤ Michael is a great guy as well. They are all great but Mark just pulls on my heartstrings.
The more I watch these guys, their honesty, their vulnerability, how willing they are to wear their hearts on their sleeves, the more I come to the conclusion that it’s the rest of society that is broken. We should all aspire to be this genuine and sincere ❤️

Mark And Michael made me smile every time they were on camera. Everyone on here was so brave. Dating and relationships can be awkward and scary, but they went for it.

I don't have Netflix and not in the USA or UK don't know if it would be on Netflix here but I started crying just watching a trailer when they had a wedding and hearing the groom's speech on the Season Two trailer just before.

i cried actual tears in every episode, especially the finale. PLEASE DO A SEASON 2. WE NEED IT!!!!!!! I really did feel connected to people in the spectrum, and learned a whole lot of things that change the way i see Autism. Please, a season 2.

I totally agree, it is horrible. I don't like the undateables, but I think this show managed to make more people aware of autism and how amazing them and their families are.
Nah, the Undateables is a great show. Sincere and full of heart. The point is to show that the disabled community are not undateable. It’s pure and beautiful!

It's a comment on how disabled people are often incorrectly perceived. But I totally understand why people would be surprised/upset by it, and I'm not a part of the disabled community, just someone who enjoyed learning more about it :)
Insulting title, but did you notice at the opening of the show - or after any break - there's an animated cupid who throws an arrow at the word "Undateables" and knocks the "Un" off? Leaving the title to read; "dateables". And that's the truth! After watching that show - with genuine, courageous people truly wanting love and putting themselves out there - I realized they're actually far far more "dateable" than most people who are floundering around on dating apps, playing games with each other, ghosting etc.
One thing I did notice about all the cast is how genuine and such nice people they were. The world could really learn a lot from them all! Also Chloe is a babe! ❤️
this show makes me cry for how beautiful they all are and how funny and adorable each of them are...my nephew and I are on the spectrum and it good to see a show showing the world how it really is living in the spectrum x
Films usually portrait autistic people as having no emotions and being misunderstood geniuses. It's so important to show different people on the spectrum and specially how lovely and funny they can be. I hope all the cast find love soon although it's not an easy task to anyone. I laughed hard several times and went to tears at the proposals. I just didn't get why they only dated people from the spectrum. Anyways, I could also recommend Jodi's classes and the dating workshop to several neurotypical people I know! Great show!
There's people in real life on the spectrum that date neurotypicals (people who aren't autistic) as someone who is autistic I hope they mix it up next series

I fell in love with the entire cast. I was so disappointed when it ended so soon. This show and these beautiful people touched me in such a deep and wholesome way that I really needed this year.
I absolutely LOVE seeing how everyone is doing today. I love the raw emotion of this show. My son is on the spectrum and has his own special challenges trying to date and this show casts a light on how different and difficult it can be to date if your on the spectrum . I wish the BEST OF LUCK to all the cast and I know they will find their special someone.
Michael is so amazing - please get him his own show! He’s so interesting, he says everything we’re all thinking and frankly, the guy knows how to pull off a suit.
I was so moved by all the cast members, and equally moved by how loving and supportive all their families are. It goes to show the power of a parent’s unconditional love. Strong, patient and loving parenting clearly guided these people into becoming wonderful, fully formed members of society. Bravo families.
I want to follow each of these people around as a wingman on their dates, and just pop in to say, “you’re doing great. Everything is going totally fine” every once in a while. I also want to tell each of their parents that they’ve done a fantastic job, and give them a hug.

How are there 99 dislikes? There is nothing but happiness and positivity in this video. The cast of this show are some of the most genuine and loving personalities I have seen.
Season 2 is about to be aired in Australia in a few weeks. Not sure when it'll be on Netflix as it's an Australian made show, Netflix Just buys the rights to show it internationally
I ended up finding love in 2012 when I was in college, I ended up with a NT guy that has a lot of patience and is understanding of me. I struggle with depression and anxiety. For me finding love was easy but finding decent work is impossible, I was treated poorly at the last 2 places I worked, but the worker turnover for my positions were high. I really hope these young people are treated well at work. I don't get SSI and I don't work and I am 30. I hope the world continues to show them love and support. Life can be difficult for us adults with Autism. I wish I could find a job online where I am trusted and understood.
I love Mark so much. I was heartbroken when his dad started tearing up about how far Mark has come. I also bawled when Andrew's dad said that Andrew has said he wishes he was normal sometimes. What an amazing series. I hope they all find their perfect partners and know that they deserve to love and be loved.

I think forcing this autistic to date other autistics thing was also rough because while obviously it’s a spectrum, a lot of the guys seemed to be in a very different place on the spectrum than the women and that seemed to be an unspoken but obvious issue that popped up repeatedly. They definitely did a good job trying to match people in that sense but eh... I do think it might be hard to get neurotypical folks on the show and there’s always the risk of weird fetishists (which I don’t know that that’s a major thing with autism but as someone who has physical disabilities, it’s always something that crosses my mind. Anyway, in some ways the show was better than I expected. But it wasn’t without issues.

But could it be that the people on the show had little to do with that? I have no idea about film production, but from a few other short docuseries I saw (example: afflicted, the tiger king), it's not scripted and they're not trying to change things - they just follow people around. Could it be a tendency of the communities they happen to film in to try to put neurodiverse people together as potential dates? I was pretty surprised by the number of such events.
Maybe I'm just naive, I think of the book "how to not be wrong" and how it points out that a series of 1 3 9 2 2 appears more random to us than 1 1 1 1 1, even though it has exactly the same probability. Just think of college flyers with the obligatory group of people of mixed ethnicity and gender - it represents "everyone" because it was designed that way. If one took a photo of a random group of people on campus, probably wouldn't look like that. So I think it's possible they tried to select a group of diverse people on the spectrum, but didn't ask beforehand: so, are you looking to date only autistic people or only neurodiverse or only disabled or any person? But that begs the question why the producers didn't Ask them why they're only going on dates with neurodiverse people so far.
Additionally what I'm confused by is if they would only date autistic people, why it's important to learn superficial things like shaking hands and pulling up the chair? I get the general dating advice like ask them about their interest and talk about your own, so you both have an idea whether you're a match, that's what you'd tell any friend who might go off onto a monologue about themselves or ask questions like it's a job interview. But all the form stuff? Is it to give people confidence/structure to feel more comfortable going into a date because it feels more like "I got this"? Anyway, just wondering.

I think it was all that vintage 1950s/1960s TV he indulges in that made him that way. He talks like someone from one of those shows- and that's a good thing! Those were great eras of TV! Very warm, fun, and uplifting.

Nah, the Undateables is a great show. Sincere and full of heart. The point is to show that the disabled community are not undateable. It’s pure and beautiful!

Insulting title, but did you notice at the opening of the show - or after any break - there's an animated cupid who throws an arrow at the word "Undateables" and knocks the "Un" off? Leaving the title to read; "dateables". And that's the truth! After watching that show - with genuine, courageous people truly wanting love and putting themselves out there - I realized they're actually far far more "dateable" than most people who are floundering around on dating apps, playing games with each other, ghosting etc.
One thing I did notice about all the cast is how genuine and such nice people they were. The world could really learn a lot from them all! Also Chloe is a babe! ❤️

Films usually portrait autistic people as having no emotions and being misunderstood geniuses. It's so important to show different people on the spectrum and specially how lovely and funny they can be. I hope all the cast find love soon although it's not an easy task to anyone. I laughed hard several times and went to tears at the proposals. I just didn't get why they only dated people from the spectrum. Anyways, I could also recommend Jodi's classes and the dating workshop to several neurotypical people I know! Great show!

I fell in love with the entire cast. I was so disappointed when it ended so soon. This show and these beautiful people touched me in such a deep and wholesome way that I really needed this year.
I absolutely LOVE seeing how everyone is doing today. I love the raw emotion of this show. My son is on the spectrum and has his own special challenges trying to date and this show casts a light on how different and difficult it can be to date if your on the spectrum . I wish the BEST OF LUCK to all the cast and I know they will find their special someone.

This show was one of my most pure, wholesome things I've watched in a long time. I wish them all the best in holding onto hope and finding love.
I was so moved by all the cast members, and equally moved by how loving and supportive all their families are. It goes to show the power of a parent’s unconditional love. Strong, patient and loving parenting clearly guided these people into becoming wonderful, fully formed members of society. Bravo families.
I want to follow each of these people around as a wingman on their dates, and just pop in to say, “you’re doing great. Everything is going totally fine” every once in a while.
I also want to tell each of their parents that they’ve done a fantastic job, and give them a hug.

I ended up finding love in 2012 when I was in college, I ended up with a NT guy that has a lot of patience and is understanding of me. I struggle with depression and anxiety. For me finding love was easy but finding decent work is impossible, I was treated poorly at the last 2 places I worked, but the worker turnover for my positions were high. I really hope these young people are treated well at work. I don't get SSI and I don't work and I am 30. I hope the world continues to show them love and support. Life can be difficult for us adults with Autism. I wish I could find a job online where I am trusted and understood.
