  • Watches are getting smarter and smarter but did you know that some watches can use data to pace your race right to a personal best ?
    It can be hard to get a new PB especially on a hilly course. Half of the battle is planning your pacing and trying to account for all that elevation, but what about if you handed over the planning to your watch?
    Would running a PB be easier if you switch from thinking about your pacing to focusing on your running? Join the Running Channel’s Sarah as she lets her watch do the pacing and see if it helps her glide to a new personal record.

Thanks for all you do at the Running Channel!

    I also ran a half marathon but by myself on 31st October 21, using pace pro strategy. My previous PB was 1:57:20, but this time I got 1:55:41 on the same course which has an elevation gain of 363m.

    Great to see and hear "real" thoughts and emotions that we can relate to.
    Yesterday I ran a full marathon solo because the event was cancelled. 1st half went okay then it all turned to custard! I don't know what failed first, my mind or my body. Barely running at the end, but still finished. Might have gone a bit fast at the start....

    Walking is underrated. When I run 4 minutes and walk 30 seconds I run at faster pace overall than if I ran continuously.

    • @Kelly_Ben
      @Kelly_Ben 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for this comment! I'd been noticing that on strava, fellow MAF runners running far faster WITH walk breaks than without. I've just started experimenting to see if it works for me too, and today will be my 3rd test.

    • @synchronium24
      @synchronium24 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Generally speaking you'd be faster overall if you just did the running sections at a slower pace but continuously. That said, if you go slow enough your form starts to break down, and that actually could be less efficient than walking.
