He wasn't complex in "some ways" - he was utterly complex in countless ways which is why he was such an incredible talent, thoughtful, intelligent, aware human. The world would be a much better place if we had so many more such people. He once said in an interview that all he really needed was "love and music" - but, his complexity made his life so much more challenging as well as rewarding - It was his ongoing depression that I always hoped he would find a healthy treatment for and find more peace in his life. Someone as complex as he was finds all of that a blessing and a curse; he saw the world and people as they truly are not as he wished and imagined they were as so many people do. His clarity was in the extreme -
