      @@belindaa5100 I agree. I think he was down to earth and did not fall victim to the star trappings some people fall into. I give credit to his parents, especially his mother. I think he valued his personal and professional friendships and it would take alot from him to walk away from them.

    Such a brilliant interview. ❤ Kudos to Hans Pilgaard for asking good Qs and kudos to George for, as always, delivering answers that told you, here was a man who’d thought about what he was doing. I know George struggled with a lot of things but he was such a gift. And yes, G, your music goes on.

    Mr. interviewer ...
    WE are ALL broken somewhere - that's the irony with George ... speaking for myself & my generation ( I grew up with George ) ... it seems impossible to us that George could possibly be insecure about his looks because he IS so fine...is he blind ? And George was no narcissist. However, when you don't feel comfortable in your own skin ...
    it's just that way.

      I understand why. He wasn't a very attractive boy/teen. He blossomed into this good looking man much later in life. But when you are not a good looking teen, when that's all that matters to you then - it can scar some people.

    I do agree that insecurity and vanity are associated......but I do understand what George is saying. Perhaps if George had been less preoccupied with presenting an image that was not really him deep down, he would have been a lot happier. George Michael beat himself up for a lot of things that he didn’t have to. People loved George Michael’s voice and music for exactly that, but he was a beautiful looking man and also a caring human being.

    • @ChloeR-vt4bh
      @ChloeR-vt4bh 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I agree with what you say here but I think the problem with insecurities is that you can’t necessarily control them or how they make you feel. It doesn’t matter if to everyone else you are beautiful if you don’t believe that you are. It will still affect you and you can’t just decide to not let your image affect you in an industry that is and was based a lot on your image. Artists had to do videos from the 80s onwards - it’s easy to see how being in the public eye can make you very image conscious.

    I do not deny that he must have been a human being who showed empathy, but he gave in to the sirens of illicit substances until his death. This destroyed him. When we are told that if Anselmo was still alive and George would not have died, it is not true: he used drugs long before he met Anselmo: in 1987 he was already using drugs. Besides, we don't even know if they would have been still together or separated

    • @katjakaflingwichmann5118
      @katjakaflingwichmann5118 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      No one knows why George died. Yes, he was open about his problems with substance abuse and depression and anxiety issues, but we will never know the full story. What remains a fact is that he was a huge talent and that very few artists will ever do what he did. He sang, wrote and produced like an angel. And to top it all off he was a generous human being who gave to others.

    • @Hakim21210
      @Hakim21210 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      No, he wasn't an Angel on earth. But only a human being. An Angel is perfect and have no defaults like human being. George made good songs and helped people who was in needs, but he was only human. Stop to make him like Jesus or an Angel. It's blasphemous.

    • @katjakaflingwichmann5118
      @katjakaflingwichmann5118 ปีที่แล้ว +6

      @@Hakim21210 I’d really appreciate it if you would refrain from calling me blasphemous. If you’d bothered to read what I wrote, you’d see that I took great care to state that George had problems with quite a few things. I’m just adding my opinion and I’d never say that George is perfect. And I’m basing it on having followed George from 1984 onwards, both as a journalist and as a huge fan. I
