Whatever his personal life, there’s no denying that George Michael was an incredibly talented artist. He was a pop idol who brought so many singles to no.1 and then moved onto ballads and covers from some of the world’s top artists. He was an icon and had the most beautiful voice and produced some wonderful albums. He may have been a victim of mass media and passed away too soon but his name and amazing music will live on. What a magnificent legacy he left us with.

I saw this title and wanted to comment. I knew someone in the early 2000s who was one of MIchael's sound people. He had a private plane for his entire crew; none of them flew coach. He paid them very well, treated them well - I got to see him (comp tickets from my friend) not long before he died. His show was fabulous- he voice was still strong and he performed 100%. I cried when I heard he died because he was one of the Good ones; he was always lovely, courteous, smiling - even though those who didn't know him exposed some embarrassing moments of his that would have destroyed most people, he did his best to answer journalists' and talk show hosts' questions about his personal life, never getting angry or acting defensive. He just grinned and bore it with a lovely smile. I won't watch this video. I really don't want to dig into more dirt than I know about him. I'll keep my nice memories of his gorgeous, smiling face, and keep dancing to FAITH. I'll leave this dirt for someone else.

Wow, I didn't expect to burst into tears when I clicked on this video. Thought I had become used to the idea of George Michael's death. But no. Reliving not just his death, but the struggles and challenges he faced in life, is really heartbreaking. Especially as he had survived the pneumonia that almost took his life, only to succumb to death a few years before. He was such a wonderful person with a huge heart. I hope George Michael is remembered for his generosity, kindness and courage as much as for his incredible talent.

@@jamesdean1143 I first met George Michael at a party. Delighted to see a long missed old friend (also named George) I laughed and waved with happiness calling "George! George!" out to him. Initally I didn't see GM, who thought I was some sort of silly Wham fan girl and sneering, mimicked my 'George George' in a loud high pitched childish voice, getting all his hangers on to laugh at me. My friend George came to hug me and said loudly "Ignore him (GM) he thinks he's special." When GM heard this and realised I was referring to a different George, he turned red with embarrassment. He automatically hated me on sight. Because we moved in the same circles, I saw GM frequently and he was always nastily cruel to me. It was childish. His sister was always lovely, as was his close friend (and pretend girlfriend) Pat. Shirley of Wham was nice but aloof with shyness, and Pepsi of Wham was genuinely the sweetest person I'd ever met.

It’s sad he has to use terms such as: “cruising”…. It makes me angry he had to defend who he slept with and when. So rude and disgusting… straight people have “one night stands”, all of the time and she was incredibly rude. Hope she’s no longer working in entertainment.

@@daynasafranek7807 Cruising is a common term used amongst gay men. Why does it make you angry? What should upset everyone is how he could have sex with over 3,000 men! It was beyond gross and he heard it from many family and friends. He alone destroyed his life.

You are hurting others when you have sex with thousands of men and share diseases with them!

I really like how he handled the press. Lots of musicians react with anxiety but he seemed always calm even responding to their random questions.

I saw George Michael's documentary and when it ended I couldn't stop crying - his voice was impeccable along with his smile - so gifted and talented!

What a beautiful voice he had. We had such great music back then - Freddie Mercury, George Michael, Andy Gibb, the BeeGees, so many. Nothing has come close since.

His music after Wham! was full of masterpieces in pop music. I was so sad when he died and he spoke to me when I was dealing with a difficult religious upbringing.

I loved him. I absolutely loved him. He was a great talent, and no matter what song he sang, his voice was beautiful. I miss him & wish he were still here. He's one of the greatest losses, to this very day!

It was completely his business what he did sexually. His generosity with his wealth was appreciated❤ I'm sorry he didn't live a longer life😒

I lived in the USA my sister and I loved and adored George Michael. We bought his 45’s and cassette tapes of all of his music. I remember hearing that he preferred men but I thought it was a rumor made up by boys at school because they were jealous of him. There were some wild rumors about Richard Gere too 😂 😂. We didn’t care that he was gay. We loved Boy George too (especially my sister) and we knew he was gay. I’m pretty sure none of the young people cared. I think the record label owners and older people had a problem with it but no one I knew cared. It’s so sad that he died alone on Christmas Eve.
We lost our cousin and his partner to the aids epidemic in the early 90’s. I think it touched everyone 😢

Born in 1959. Loved the 80's. What a great time. Then came the big disease with a little name. But still...80's rocked. Loved my big hair.
