    Couldn't help coming here again. This may easily be the best 2º Beethoven concerto I've heard. Alexandra is not a simple prodigy pianist, she is much more than that. She "sings" through" the piano, doesn't simply play it like most pianists. Her sense of time is uncanny! All the notes are played exactly at the right time with exactly the right intensity. The "game" between right and left hand is amazing. The phrasing is "round", continuous, not little pieces of music that are being put together as it happens with so many musicians. She "tells a tale" from the beginning to the end. I believe that, with the astonishing amount of all of her 14 years of age she is already a better musician (that happens to play the piano perfectly) than most of the resounding names of the present and past that we are so used to hear and admire. I'm of an old age and can't hope to follow her career much longer. But I'm sure she will be the best, sometime.
    Hope, just hope that those stupid, ignorant, megalomaniac politicians that has the power of destroying everything an killing everybody let mankind nurture this amazing flower in the midst of their fouled little lives.

Hoffen wir inständig, dass dies nicht passiert und gehen wir auf die Straße. Zeigen wir denen, dass wir ihnen nicht hörig sind. I agree completely. I HATE talking about child geniuses, but sometimes there is a talent that comes once every few decades, and that's Alexandra. But it's important that fans, audiences and her collaborators give her space to develop. Alexandra needs time, she needs privacy, she needs not to be overburdened by excessive performing, and even excessive practice. Alexandra should be under no pressure to be a complete musician until she is 30 or 40.

    • @MishaSkripach

      Alexandra is from a music family, music is her first language. Her skill is real, it is not subject to being overburdened - pretty much every Conservatoire student is overworked and underplayed. Here by age 18 this musician will have lots of practice on stage, experience, good exposure that allows to get commissions - her life as a musician will be blossoming. Her natural talent and excellent skill, deep understanding of the technique will keep her safe from dangers of growing up as a creative child. Alexandra is an example of skill and work ethic for many young musicians - my son, for example, not only likes her very much and loves her playing, but for him she is a measure of how to work, how to practice, how not to give up - how to learn to be a musician.
      Sasha will be an adult big musician, we are confident. Her talent is supported by devotion and ability to work hard.

      @@MishaSkripach Sasha's talent, skill, technique will not keep her safe from the artist managers, PR brigade, the 'big' record companies, the competition roundabout, etc. Nor, indeed, from Matsuev, Putin's musical poodle. I could not agree more with Vlad Vexler's comment. I do not want her being turned into another circus act. Her gift is genius, a very rare thing in an executant musician. She reminds me so much of Solomon, a charming, endearing child who played and talked about music like an adult musician of great gifts. What at present I find hugely encouraging is that Grigori Sokolov has publicly expressed his admiration and interest in her. Interesting that Sokolov mentioned Solomon as one of the pianists who influenced him when he was starting out.

      @@pamos1949 I understand. I am trying to keep my son Misha away from competitions etc. However, Sasha has incredible skill that would be a pity to not show? Misha cannot yet compare, technically - but loves music as much, and he finds it very encouraging to listen to Sasha, as he knows how much work goes on behind the scenes. Mechetina's life shows that lots of performing while a child is not bad for a pianist - Sasha will never be afraid of stage. They have Alma Deutscher - the "big" companies. They have Leia Zhu.

    When Alexandra plays, each note is a carefully crafted creation, an audio sculpture. Each note, each space between notes is from front-of-mind rather than over-practiced muscle-memory as is seen in many musicians. And her development of every phrase, the qualities of each note, the length of time between each note, holds us in suspense while the entire emotional milieu embodied in that phrase takes form. This is true musicianship!

    Absolutely stunning interpretation. The best I have ever heard. No wonder Grigory Sokolov is doing all in his power to help her in her concert career. Perhaps he sees her as his natural successor. Apparently, he sees her as a colleague. They share the same agent who tries to arrange adjacent concerts for them both at the same venues to enable them to play for each other and discuss the merits of the same piano and concert hall. Having Sokolov as a mentor, friend, guide and sponsor is an arrangement others could only dream about. But then the talent of Alexandra Dovgan is something that others can only dream of having.

    • @VladVexler

      @@VladVexler An idiotic statement. I can think of only a handful of pianists in recorded history to have excelled so well in such a vast repertoire as that which Sokolov commands. To say that a 14 year old (however talented - and she is indeed miraculously gifted) is more musical than him is quite frankly absurd.

    • @VladVexler
      @VladVexler 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@peterelliott5720 she isn’t a complete musician; she needs another 30 years for that. But in principle is it possible that a 14 year old will have better musical values - rhythmical strength, control over the long line - than many famous colleagues? Sure. It’s extraordinarily rare. But possible. Especially in an historical period when there are no great pianist. And what could settle this question? Only what the performer does on the platform. Pre determined expectations are irrelevant. There is no place for an ‘it can’t be’ - it either is or it isn’t.

    • @peterelliott5720
      @peterelliott5720 3 ปีที่แล้ว +4

      @@VladVexler There has never, since the invention of the modern piano been a period without any great pianists. And when we're talking about pianists at the summit of this tradition - Richter, Horowitz, Sokolov etc - I really don't think it's possible to pinpoint who is the more 'musical' by reducing their playing to elements such as rhythm or lyricism. When each of them are at their best, their interpretations are equally perfect, only different. And I think it's still less possible to compare one of these to an undoubtedly genius but not yet fully developed younger performer such as Alexandra Dovgan.

    Я желаю Tебе, чтобы Tы всегда игралa по-своему, так, как ты себя чувствуешь. Чтобы Tы не смотрелa на других, а только искалa и находилa истину и красоту в каждом изделии. И чтобы это принесло Tебе и другим счастье и радость.

    Just one note first: Either Swedes don't recognize world class performance or there are just 5 people in the audience.
    Apart from that, Alexandra is one genius of music and piano play. Let there will be many more performances like that, with better audience.

    • @mathildewesendonck7225
      @mathildewesendonck7225 3 ปีที่แล้ว +5

      Swedes DO recognize world class music, I‘m not Swedish, but I am absolutely sure about that.
      I assume that this performance was only for recording and not for the public, due to CoVid restrictions. These five people in the audience were probably somehow involved in the production and therefore allowed to be there.

    A wonderful performance. According to the Mariinsky website Alexandra Dovgan was born in 2007, which would make her 14 years old at the time of this performance. The maturity of her playing is remarkable, and would be remarkable even if she were much older.

Merveilleuse soliste qui a si bien interprété et nuancé de concerto n°2 de Beethoven... Cette prestation est admirable. Bravo aussi pour le dirigeant véritablement passionné et communicatif !

    I love the way she stays absorbed in the music, not in some staged way but locked and a part of it. Her engagement with it without a 'presentation persona' though she probably has one, is what to me adds to her completeness. She always looks like she's finding or hearing something extra in the music she plays.

    This orchestra's performance is stellar and flawless
    Without Beethoven ,
    this music world would have been very lonely and insipid
    Beethoven invigorates the human soul , and is immeasurable , unfathomable , and beyond description
    Her performance with incomparable skill and exquisite technique is full of admiration , acclaim , tribute and deep emotion , and comfortable to the ear and the mind

    It gives you an accurate appreciation of what good music sounds like, for an amateur like myself, this is priceless, I will now be able to detect not so good players, this girl is exceptional, you just feel it as you listen, every note is accurate, fluid, and full of emotion. Perfection sounds like this, now I know.
