    I love the house's warmth and all the little DIY projects that give it a beautiful and unique vibe. For example, the fridge cover is amazing! Usually, fridges stand out like sore thumbs in the kitchen, but this is brilliant.

    I really love your various "facades" - different on the fridge, then the pantry, the shower wall - really great to look at & this does *not* read "cluttered" somehow.

    It's interesting to see what money can do in different countries.
    I live in Bulgaria and in here for about 40K$ you can build a real small house or just buy an apartment.
    Idk it just feels strange 😅
    Building this exact home will probably cost like 20K MAX

      @ZeoCyberG ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Difference country means different currency value and cost for everything from materials to goods can be very different. Along with what taxes/VAT, and other fees may effect the costs as well will vary by country.
      While also what standards it is being built to, some countries you can get away with something that is essentially the same as an RV/Caravan/tent but in others it has to meet or exceed the same standards as a residential home and the later means a lot more is going into them as residential standards are an order of magnitude higher than RV/Caravan requirements. For up to more than double the weight, up to multiple times more durable and longer lasting, far better insulated, etc.
      Along with different challenges, like many European countries deal with more strict max weight limits. Something in the states or Canada can be a lot heavier than most other countries. So there's often more going on than just the price difference...

      But you earn a lot less. So in the end it's probably a wash.

    This house is gorgeous! I love her style so much. All the thought she put in to making everything aesthetically pleasing just makes this house uniquely hers. And I agree - the fridge cover is amazing. I love the touches with the baskets as storage. The home is so warm and cozy.

    You have an exceptional creation of your tiny home, Shelby! I could spend the rest of my life there, (but I'm 61...) The surrounding area is equally aesthetically pleasing. I love your bathroom wall! I have done the same in my townhome. All those walls were huge canvass for me, too! Great work, absolutely love everything about your designs and talented artwork!

      I imagine it would be a little different if I were to have bought the house.
      It being my own design and my own work, i live very closely with work I did while learning to do said work. As a perfectionist this has been a huge lesson 😅 everything I find inconvenient is a decision that I made.
      It very much is a love hate relationship- with myself as much as the house 🙃

      I was hoping she made a mistake when she said that. There's no way an opening window that size would cost $5,000. Home Depot/Lowes ($300.00) max and that's being generous. I want nothing custom. If I can't buy it at the big box store for a reasonable price, I don't want it. Make your openings to fit the window, not windows to fit the openings. That's just my opinion.

    I’d still rather use big amounts like this to help the homeless and kids foked over by capitalism like how there’s a lot more vacant homes than homeless and still more are being built or gentrified... and especially nonhuman animals and the planet.

    • @shelbyisathug
      @shelbyisathug ปีที่แล้ว

      I’m *definitely* a lucky lady, and consider myself privileged but I’d also consider myself amongst the humans fucked over by capitalism…. I don’t think capitalism is *for* anyone but the ones in charge. You’d be shocked at how little $40k is in terms of living situations. I’d end up paying $40k in rent in no time…. So why not build my own tiny piece of pie that allows me general security in a world that doesn’t hand out favors.
      We all have to take care of ourselves and I think a tiny house is absolutely reasonable.
