I work as a Prisoner Officer currently working with Youth and this is a common story I see all the time foster care ,youth facilities and on to prison. I take my hat off to you ,well done I will relay your story to the boys :)

I am an officer too, with many years working with youth as well. The repetitious daily stupidity of the system and the majority of the offenders makes me really appreciate a man/story like this.

@@jenniferknight1511 That is soo sad I feel that so deeply. Only God can mend such a wound so profoundly deep. There are no words I can say, just tears and no english words I can pray, unknown words I have no idea how to express other than the Holy Spirit giving me the words in the secret place of intimate prayer. God knows every heart and created us all and I pray for healing for all these precious lost souls... bless them all. :'( my heart. Most people who are incarcerated have lots of valuable skills... too bad no one will hire felons let alone rent to them, background checks prevent them from living a full life and most end up homeless once out of prison.

My husband and I live in a brick and motor tiny house 953 sq ft with one bathroom, a single car garage, on a slab, semi flat top, no central heat or air. we have gotten so used to this size and its great to be so stream lined and “free” compared to my friends and family. we have a small yard, perfect for a nice sized veggie garden and two fruit trees, its drought tolerant (no lawns) and low upkeep. Has a outdoor area to entertain on and for grilling. its perfect for two aging boomers. best of all its paid for, all the appliances are energy efficient, we’ve installed new doors, windows, roof, wall heaters. (i love that our stove dryer, heat and hot water are all gas) we don’t live crazy extravagant and we always have expendable cash cuz our cars are paid for too. its all good and it fits our way if life. Happy we downsized!

I watch so many tiny house videos. This one is the best. So many of us keep saying, (maybe not out loud,) we can't do that; whatever THAT is. Life is too hard. I don't have (emotionally, physically, monetarily) what it takes. I confess that I am one of them. So many hard issues but also so much wasted time. I can't do it -rings in my head. But here is someone who could be angry at the world, yet he choses to grow and care and take care of himself. He's got to be a great friend to have .I don't know if this sounds corny or not, but you just made my day. You made me think and encouraged me. Bless you Jon.

You know Josh, you may have just stumbled on the perfect solution for a lot of people that have been in trouble and were incarcerated, especially when they were young. I think your ideas are fantastic and healing, as well. I would think that a lot of people leaving incarceration would benefit from something like this...and you have time to think about yourself and what you really want for yourself...and sometimes that doesn't include "stuff" at all, but rather a different mind set and how to really enjoy life. You have done an awesome job and I so hope that others needing to find themselves, see this and realize that anything is possible. Take care and God Bless, Josh and yes, I am so glad that you exist and also that you have found your warm and comfy spot in this crazy world. But leaving everything behind and starting completely new, on the road is so scary to most that they won’t. The sad part about recidivism, is that people gravitate towards what they know.

    Beautifully shot. Such incredible talent!
Also noted: Perhaps his prison experience has made him wary, but this is the first tiny house I've seen featured with an eye on security! Too many times I think these tiny homes are extremely vulnerable. God forbid anything happen to any others, but at least this man is moderately safe!
    Cheers from Vegas✌

My family and I were migrant workers and we had a trailer house ( R,V. ) we lived in all year round, the best part of our lifestyle was the freedom to go where and when we pleased. My husband has passed on to next world 🌎 and I am 80 years old, but the memories of those wonderful days on the road and the wonderful people we met fills my soul with happiness. It was magic

They were what I exactly needed to hear at my state in time. Been a rough month for sure. But I am still grateful that God has given a purpose and direction. I don’t see myself as a visionary, but I do see the vision that God has given. That alone pushes me forward. Thank you for sharing your story. Will be praying for you. Jess
