very nice list, helps me a lot and this summer i fell in love with the status. trying to get one ever since. i do miss kona and orbea in this list but orbea is also in a different price world.

I just got a canyon torque cf8 and I bout it because it checked all the boxes I was after (mullet/coil shock/Aline ready) and in the end it was about 3 grand cheaper than most of the bikes in the category , one of the best values on the hill right now for sure. I cld smash the frame in half but a frame only from another brand and still be with the price of some of the other bikes in the category.

Thanks for all the info! This is one of the better reviews I’ve seen!
About to step my kids up from Hardtails. They’ve developed the necessary skill sets and now I’m ready to make the full suspension jump.
I originally thought to go the trail route since I will be buying two bikes at once and it will likely be more cost-effective.
But after a recent bike park trip, they are sending massive jumps and big drops!
Now I’m considering going the Enduro route.
Are they are only 10, but growing fast.
Would you mind taking a look at a few of their shorts and give me your thoughts?
    Thanks
Keep up the great work! We dig the continent!

You’ve got some little rippers for sure!! If they’re hitting jumps that big at 10, it’s only a matter of time until they want to challenge themselves with bigger gaps and double black trails… Polygon has some sick 24”/26” full sus bikes for sale right now like the Siskiu D24 and D24x.
      bikesonline-usa.sjv.io/n15YvM
I have twin boys too! They’re 5 and I hope they can rip like that at 10. Getting them some little hardtails with disc brakes this year… 🤞🏻 Hope the day comes where I can’t keep up with them anymore… Cheers!

That’s an amazing list of completes at the price of many “frame only” buys. That would be an interesting comparison. Frame only list of high end frames and what makes them special.
As for eBikes, I have only demoed a few but never considered buying one since my everyday local short loop is only 7miles long. It’s would shorten that steep climb to 15-20mins but be a lot of weight to throw around the tight single track decent. I think if I lived near some longer backcountry trails that were too steep to explore then that would be a better reason to consider a heavy eBike.

I have the Commencal Meta SX that I custom built and love it, but If I was buying a new bike today, I would love to try the Propain Tyee.
I've heard so many good things about their Pro 10 suspension design. When Robert Kraus designed it he wrote a list of requirements with 10 points that the suspension system had to fulfil
    1. Highest drive neutrality
    2. Sensitive response
    3. Best possible traction
    4. Ideal progression to optimally utilise the suspension travel and prevent sagging
    5. Excellent anti-squat values (low bobbing)
    6. High stiffness
    7. Favourable force transmission into the main frame (lightweight construction)
    8. Robust bearing
    9. Low & central centre of gravity
    10. Low braking influence
From what I've heard the Tyee nails all 10 points. It might be my next bike, but I'm going to wait and see how well the new Protype enduro bike from Commencal rides before making any decisions.

For me, the Tyee also seems to be a good deal. And it also looks amazing!
However, VitalMTB recently did a DH bikes comparison and the Propain Rage performed way below the other bikes on the test. So I must admit that I got a lit bit frustratred, cause the bikes probably share a similar platform. Have you seen these videos?! Btw, I couldnt find Tyee's in depth reviews (it seems that YT just suggests GMBN videos hahaha).

@Rafael Gaede The issue they had with the bike was it was difficult to hold a line in the rough stuff. This wasn't due to the suspension design, but the fact that it's the smallest and stiffest frame out of the group. Those two design aspects don't inspire much confidence on a downhill bike. Also according to one of the reviewers the Rockshox BoXXer had a lot of bushing play which contributed to them not liking the bike. The fact the one of the reviewers set a PR shows the bike works well when the trail is closer to enduro conditions. I think Propain just missed the geo numbers and made the bike too stiff.

I like the spectral but i am not sure whether I should buy the new spectral al 5 (3800 aud) or al 6 (4950 aud). The main difference are drivetrain (deore vs gx eagle) and suspension (fox rhythm GRIP vs rs lyrik select+ RC) Please help 🙏🙏🙏

    • @666psicko
      @666psicko ปีที่แล้ว +2

When I buy bikes, I try to go for the bike with the best specs I can afford. I also go for the bike that has the best highest component. For an extreme example, if one of the bikes I'm looking at has a rockshox lyrik on it and an nx derailleur and the other bike has a rockshox 35 gold on it and a gx derailleur, I would go for the bike with the lyrik fork on it. Upgrading to a gx derailleur is cheaper than upgrading the roxkshox gold to a lyrik. I try to replace as little as possible, but if I have to replace stuff, I'd rather replace the things that are cheaper to replace, rather than the more expensive parts like a fork.
