Great to see the new machine running! I would love to see how the X blade splitter performs with more crooked logs and/or logs with more branch knots. In the past you always processed logs with varying quality: will you continue to do so or do you plan to only source logs with a higher quality (ie only process straight, larger diameter logs with few knots)? Thanks in advance for taking the time to consider!

Love your operation, by the way. Very well thought-out and well organized.

Hi, yes it deals with knots very well with a high splitting force, but with bigger timber lower down the tree you tend to get a cleaner sample anyway 👍🏼 I’ll try do a video with some knotty timber

@@oakfarmfirewood Thanks for the response. It seems like the narrow wedge would cut through the knots and that the split pieces would stay well organized (not go sideways) inside the splitting chamber, but it is hard to confirm as no one who has this style of splitter ever shows videos with anything other than straight grained beech. A video with the full range of log quality would be greatly appreciated! I know of no splitters with this style of blade here in North America (I am sure there are some but they must be rare) so their performance in lower quality logs is hard to confirm. Thanks in advance!

That is really a nice setup. How many cubic ft do you think ya can do in a 8 or 10 hr run ? Just cujrious. Thanks for sharing this from Minnesota.

It depends on timber size but a good days processing with average wood is about 50 cubic metres.

@oakfarmfirewood that setup is sure something to be proud of. So quiet compared to listening to my 60hp motor running all day.. its awesome.

What an awesome way to future proof your business Archie. Looks like you could teach someone to be a competent operator in one day. Then let them get on as you do the background work to expand your business and value add your products. Your a young go getter, it’s great to see!

I am thinking about buying such a machine. But Posch has no fully automatic option. What are the total Costs of your machine appoxiamately. Rutger Holland.

Speak to Ben at Fuelwood and mention the channel he will give you the full price list, I ordered mine over a year ago.
Yes and the Fuelwood machine is all on the same level 👍🏼 the automation is definitely the seller though
