    Always a learning curve with everything but like a good businessman you appear to give your operation careful thought to produce a consistent and high quality product efficiently. 👌

    I have seen a guy that had fitted self adhesive sound deadening to the outsides of the feed in chute and also on the underside of his cleaner conveyor and waste chutes - DRASTIC reduction in the clanging and banging noise these things generate. He did it to reduce neighbours complaints. Worked great

    Thanks, your getting it sorted out for sure, i think you are seeing the shrinkage of kindling rather than the bags. Wet season here, just got my hay cut and bailed.

    Keep up the good work. I may have to get a cleaner one day. It’s on the list for sure.

      Cheers, if hand stacking it’s not really worth it but loose into ibcs or bags it will be worth it to increase airflow

    Looks like your going to need a bigger warehouse for your operation.. your growth in the last bit is just mind blowing..
    What were the last few years growth in terms of sales??
    You could try cutting the IBC Cages and staking a kilns worth of kindling.. dry it then put in bags..

      Thanks, it’s pretty much doubled every year but don’t think it will this season we will see.
      Yes maybe but it would mean hand stacking them back into the shoot and be very time consuming

    It should be fairly easy to make a stand that will hold a bag and allow for transfer to the forklift. Or, some cranes have the possibility to attach forks.
    I also noticed that the cleaner cleans best if you drop the wood in at the right so it has the longest distance to travel across the cleaning discs. For transferring the wood from toads to bags or trailers, it works well either way.
    I do enjoy these videos, so much so that I subscribed last week. Greetings from the Netherlands

    15-20% shinkage, when wood is dried from freshly cut apparently , Does make you think you really need to charge a good premium for dry wood to cover both the cost of the Kiln and the actual amount of product

    Thanks for the continued insight to your companies growth/ development. It’s so helpful to all us wannabies 😎 have you establishes any average numbers of bags a private customer might buy per annum for firewood & kindlers please

    • @oakfarmfirewood
      @oakfarmfirewood  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really does fluctuate a lot some people buy 1 bulk bag a season and I have a guy that buys 18-20 bags a year but he heats his water with his log burner also. Average is probably 3-5 bulk bags

    Mate you need to get a couple of frames on wheels made up to hold your bags. Then u dont need a 2nd forklift.

    • @oakfarmfirewood
      @oakfarmfirewood  ปีที่แล้ว

      I’ve got frames maybe I’ll give it a go.

    Think it may be a combination of both. Shrinking wood and the bags may of stretched.

    Archie have a look at a potato box lifter to load the cleaner. Much cheaper than a forklift

    another forklift ? how about a mini tractor ? do a lot of jobs with one of them,,,,the ultimate reserve machine to have around.

    • @oakfarmfirewood
      @oakfarmfirewood  ปีที่แล้ว

      It won’t be as good inside the shed and another reason for a forklift is height. Come artic trailers I can’t reach over with this one

    Oak Farm Firewood and Pr0n. Call when you need log (wood).
    It works better in Swedish.
