    I didn't buy a 10.2 a few years ago specifically because of the sliding down issue. I'm a klutz, and my bike repair stand is within striking distance of my car when parked in the garage. I didn't need my bike falling down one day and hitting my car. In the end I waited, back and forth trying to decide whether to buy a cheap stand or the 10.2. When I was finally ready to pull the trigger, bam, the 10.3 was out. Glad my indecision paid off!

    Great video straight to the point. The 10.2 lower clamp issue could be solved by just drilling some holes either side of the clamp and putting some bolts through.

    I have the 10.2 and have experienced the "folding forward" scenario with a bike on it. I really have to tighten that quite a lot as well as the head to keep the bike from rotating in the stand. My bikes range from 29 to 35 lbs, so not overly heavy. I don't really see a reason to upgrade.

    I like the Park tool very much, but there are so many cheaper alternatives on the market that have from little to absolutely no difference except the price. I bought mine no name bike stand for 50-60 euro. It's a bit different, but it has the same set of features and even more accessories included. If the Park tool wouldn't cost 4-5 times more expensive, I would definitely spend bit over 100 euro and go with my favorite brand. But I got no-name one, and I'm pretty happy.

      I bought the Feedback Sports Pro-Elite about 10 years ago, worked fine for my 26” 30lb bike, but it doesn’t really handle my 34lb 29er that well. I actively work on my bike and trust that I know how to orient the legs so it isn’t so tippy. I like the way the Feedback folds away and there was no assembly required. I would buy the Park Tool, however, another video shows it more stable than feedback pro-elite.

    • @45graham45
      @45graham45 ปีที่แล้ว

      I wonder why the QR lever at 9:23 was replaced with a knob? QR seems better & should work fine now that there's a spring popper to stop any inadvertent folding issues.

    Crazy OCD question regarding step 3. Why is the nut on the outside instead of the inside? The bolt heads on the rest of the stand are on the outside, not the inside. I just put mine together today and even though the instructions are for the way you did it I reversed it.

    hi, great video- question. When I am cleaning my bike while on the stand, sometimes I need to get to the other side of the bike. Instead of walking around the stand which I currently do with my $60 stand, do I have to do this with this Park Tool stand or can something rotate so I can get to the other side of the bike? Thanks!

    Are there any issues using this stand with a bike that has a carbon aero seat post? Is there a risk that it might damage the post?

    • @yonglingng5640
      @yonglingng5640 ปีที่แล้ว

      No issues at all, but never clamp über lightweight carbon seatposts, such as those from Darimo, MCFK, Schmolke Carbon and THM due to their insanely thin walls that can't take any clamping pressure.
      Some integrated seatposts can't be clamped too, like those on top-end Giants.

      like any tool, what i recommend doing is buying the cheapest one you can find (reasonably, dont get a $10 bike stand lol) and if you find that you use the cheap one enough to break it or that you could use extra capabilities the cheap one doesnt have, then it will be worth while for you to invest in a decent one. personally i started a bike business with a home made wooden repair stand, and very quickly invested in the pcs 9.2 as it made work so much easier, and have since upgraded my 9.2 stand with new clamp etc

  • @dolittle6781

    The best bike repair stand would have to have these two things going for it: an electric lift to hoist and clamp the bike to the stand automatically and be stable enough so the stand and bike can’t fall over. Would be a good deal if the price point was below two hundred dollars.

    I've had this model for 3 years. It seizes up and won't rotate. Park Tool readily admits this is a fault of this model. Very frustrating - especially since Park Tool has a ineffective 'fix' for this problem.

    • @LoveMTB
      @LoveMTB  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interestingly mine works well and better than previous model

    • @bmxscape
      @bmxscape ปีที่แล้ว

      ive had a similar issue with my stock 9.2 repair stand, and the same stand with 100-25d clamp installed. the fix i found for either case of : stand rotating even when tight, and stand seized and not rotating.
      moving when tight: if you have to tighten the handle extreme amounts to get the bike to stop moving, use carbon assembly compound on the clamps tapered interface.
      not moving when loosened: clamp a handlebar in the stand to use as a lever to break it free. look at the tapered sections. they are made in a two piece mould so there can be flashing on the joint. use a razor to remove the flashing if present. if problem still persists with no flashing, use a very small amount of antiseize or grease. too much antisieze or grease will create the slipping problem.

    to stop the old stand from rotating drill holes and pop a pin in there. those plastic parts WILL break and are overpriced to replace. i use cheapo sandbags for stability. no need to "upgrade" . Park Tool are shysters sometimes

    • @LoveMTB
      @LoveMTB  6 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It’s not the rotating style has the teardrop tube. And sandbags help with stability but what you saw in the video is overall twist or bending. Still useable don’t get me wrong 😑
