Very interesting! I've wondered about this. Minor question/note: I was thinking the way of writing resolutions using "p" (or "i"), refers to the vertical lines of resolution, such that 1366x768 = 768p. (e.g. 1920x1080 = 1080p, not 1920p). But yeah, awesome reasons I hadn't ever thought of! Thanks!
