Dear MSA: Brother, your channel has got to be one of the best "nomad van life" channels I've ever come across! All your videos are really awesome, and I'm really enjoying them. What you've done with your Prius is just amazing, especially in the terms of all the electrical stuff you've done, being able to run the fridge, the microwave, and everything else. Perhaps you could do a more in-depth video on how you actually did all the wiring and how you're actually making all that work! Thanks again;! 👍🙂
Hey thank you very much, that means alot. So glad you enjoy it. I did do several videos explaining how the electrical stuff works, but I will keep it in mind to show more in depth about the wiring.
I really hope u do a part two, when I saw this video of the parkway and staying at Walmart’s I was so excited cause I want to do this. That’s for sharing, it was great!
Mount Airy, NC is the birthplace and childhood home of actor Andy Griffith. The fictional town of Mayberry, NC in The Andy Griffith Show was based on Mount Airy.
Those views are stunning! 😍 Slow travel is the best! You get to see way more and really take it all in. People who rush around might get there faster but may also miss out on a lot of spectacular moments.
I love that you can travel slow, so refreshing to see a youster who can do slow travel. Thank you for taking the time to produce this video. Safe travels.
I came across your channel because I just purchased a 2012 Toyota Prius Four (with solar roof package), somehow with only 19,000 miles. I am very interested in turning it into a stealth camper. I am from Western NC. Went to college at Appalachian State University in Boone. Really enjoyed seeing you travel through my stomping grounds. I think I might have to plan a trip to drive through the entire Blue Ridge Parkway in my "new" Prius!
Super cool to see you in my neck of the woods! I live in the south Piedmont about an hour north of Charlotte and grew up visiting the coast and mountains here often. You could spend a month on the blue ridge parkway and probably still not see all the overlooks. I only found your channel about a week ago while researching micro camper builds and you’re my favorite Prius dweller. I paid off my 2015 Mirage last week and just took the seats out today so I can begin transforming it into a tiny stealth camper. I’m planning a 9+ day boondocking trip to Maine for my 30th birthday in April to see it and as much of New England as possible for the first time. I think the nomad life would suit me perfectly so I’m going to start trying it with what I have, and maybe I’ll get to upgrade to a Prius one day for that sweet off grid power. Which I learned about from you!
Beautiful scenery. Thank you for sharing. I've been in the area many times truck driving over the road. It never gets old seeing it. I like how respectful that you take the time to answer most comments. It gives a personal touch. It has gotten so non personal in this world. I also like that you show what you eat and how you fix it. Thank you for the video. Blessings and safe travels.
@@MountainSpringsAdventures Like you said about your car camping/living as it is driving truck OTR. It's not all perfect. But I got to see many areas of the U.S.A. that wouldn't of if I hadn't. I'm glad you are stopping when seeing something interesting. Because next time isn't promised. Harder to do in a semi and 53ft trailer getting into places. Take care.
I highly suggest an Oregon and Washington trip early to mid-fall. Very different looking wilderness from other areas of the country and lots of free national forest camping.
This trip is exactly what I want to do. I’m jousting getting my plans together and am learning so much from you. You are super chill and I love that! Keep the videos coming!
We went to this area last September. We stayed at a tiny house air b&b in Marshall which is just north of Asheville. We just drove and drove. So much to see on that blue ridge parkway. I strongly recommend. One of the best places I’ve ever been to. There’s an amazing zip line experience near there too
Good video. I've just about got my 2015 Prius ready for traveling/camping and I think the Blue Grass Parkway is going to be on my agenda this summer. Thanks for the time you took making the video.
Absolutely incredible video! You have reminded me of something I’ve forgotten about in deciding to go nomadic, just how beautiful the eastern and southeastern part of the U.S. and what’s great heritage we have. I’m looking forward to heading back west since I made the Route 66 truck in 2017 with a friend, I’ve longed to go back there but I am trying to make a list of places in the southeast that I can break in living van life (in my case Truck life) before heading westward!
Cool stuff, really digging your channel! Just bought myself a 2008 Prius and will be travelling in that for a couple of weeks. I think it was your videos that made me decide to go with a Prius, so thanks!
I'm currently in Carlsbad, CA roadtripping up the west coast. There's a good amount of planet fitness locations in California and the majority seem to be open 24 hours. San Francisco is the coldest US city in July
I lived in Carlsbad for years and it’s a beautiful beach town with very lenient parking rules. I’m up in the Pacific Northwest now and hope to spend the winter down there once my Prius is all set up. I love Planet Fitness but I found out you can only go 10 times a month to locations that aren’t your home gym. Is this a new rule?
@@graham974 Last time I checked with my Black Card at PF, they allow 10 times at the ''same'' club per month... You can go to as many clubs as you want during the month... The reasons they give are that each one is Independently Operated and rely on members to that club to pay the bills etc. 🙃
SF is cooler in the Summer because it gets swamped with fog daily... I lived in the Bay Area for a decade and it would vary by 30° f South, North of the city and even 50° from the Central Valley... The Pacific stays a balmy 55° due to upwelling water along the San Andreas Fault Line 🤓
Colorado Rocks! Been Living here for 15yrs. From VA and will retire back there (kid and Grandkids are there). My land has a view of the park. Great info on your channel. I run my prius as a camper to travel back and forth between CO and VA. Keep up the great work.
Definitely check out Glacier National Park if you haven't been there yet! You inspired me to spend the month of July 2022 road tripping all the way from Connecticut out to the Rocky Mountains in my 08 Prius. I hit Badlands, Glacier, Yellowstone, and Grand Teton. Spent a night at Lake Santeetlah on the way back thanks to your video. It was amazing! I was going to do Skyline Drive but it was socked in with fog.
I just watched your video. I just subscribed to your channel. I like to watch videos of people traveling around the USA. I wish I could but I am already 80 years old. I just retired 4 years ago. Thank so much for sharing with us. I hope you have a wonderful week.
This video was amazing! Thank you for sharing your adventures! Going slow…you do you man, take it in. Take life slow as you like and savor simple things. Be humble and thankful. God bless you and pup!
I enjoy your videos. I used to live in the Boone area but now I'm on the west coast near San Diego. Sounds like we've gone the same direction. Prius is a great way to travel and save money. You need to post some new content😊
It's too bad you couldn't explore the Mt. Airy, NC area. It's full of interesting pioneer cabins and fantastic roadside local fruit/veggie stands that often have fresh pressed apple cider and honey. Happy trails to you.
I hope I can make it there someday. Those Blue Ridge mountains are on my bucket list! Your shedding girl looks so adorable watching her dad! Don’t feel bad, I have 3x the hair from my three! Some things are just not that important anymore. Thank you for taking us along your favorite road!
You should try showboat pork and beans sometime that they were around when I was a kid which was you know 40 50 years ago so but you should try a showboat I think you'd be pretty impressed with them. Enjoy your videos be safe in your travels.
I just finished(2wks ago) traveling the entire blue ridge parkway, smokey mtns & Shenandoah NP(it's gorgeous too). I'm like you, had 2 check everything out. Chopped up, spent 1-2wks exploring. You do not want 2 travel the parkway at night. I had 6-7 maybe more deer run in front of my car, narrowly missed them. During the day there was a bear on the road watching traffic(NC).
I enjoyed your trip in this video! I agree about spring water! And wanting to see everything is a pretty cool attitude I think! Thanks for the idea of transiting the Parkway. I need some inspiration. My dog passed away a month ago and it's been a challenge to roll with that empty seat. Fur and all. I have a solar/house battery system but no inverter yet. That crock pot idea is sweet! I spent 3 months out west last summer/fall too. Definitely heading back. So much to see, eh?
I like Bluegrass too..I saw Roni Stoneman from HeeHaw in 1990 or so when she did a small concert at an RV resort here in the Tampa,FL area.. I have been on the Blue Ridge Parkway many times as my family vacationed up in WVA often..beautiful area..if you think the mountains in NC are high, try WV! MUCH higher elevations haha Un-spoiled beauty due to less tourist stuff...just real beauty..
Thats cool. Yes I have been in West Virgina a lot in the past few years. I was suprised there was only one small national forest in WVA. Very beautiful and remote, but I couldnt find many public lands where i could explore except for monegehala national forest
Just watched this video again a year later. The bluegrass music concert was awesome. North Carolina has some amazing views and appreciated seeing how you eat on the road traveling. Agree mountain water is amazing to see coming out of the cracks in the rocks, almost like interior rivers behind the stone. Definitely the best tasting. Did you end up making a part 2 showing your travels to Tennessee?
What a treat!!! Thank you so much for sharing some of the prettiest country I've ever seen... My roots are in that region, and I wonder if yours are too? You might be a descendant of Daniel Boone 😉 He is said to have remarked, "When you can see the smoke from your neighbor's chimney, they're too close." I've never driven the Parkway, but I did visit Amicalola Falls in north Georgia several times, which is where the Appalachian Trail begins. It's not that far... and definitely worth seeing. I haven't been back in that part of the country for over 10 years now, but I sure would love to go back. This is the next best thing. Maybe use some bluegrass as your background music...or the Oakridge Boys 😁 Loved the look on your dog's face 💗💗 Happy travels! PS there's a free app called Radio Garden, and a search for "bluegrass" turned up 5 stations around the US. Hope that helps!
Ha, that sounds about right. I don't like how everyone is so crammed together in the cities and suburbs. the National Forest in eastern Kentucky ironically is called Daniel Boone National Forest. I've been to amicalola falls many times. I'm actually from georgia, All the descendants on my dad's side are from South Georgia. thanks for the Bluegrass suggestion, I'll have to look into it, take care, happy you enjoyed the video
Have you figured out how to share your Google Maps camping locations yet? I'm eager to subscribe to your Patreon when you're able to add it. I'm going to be starting the Prius life on August 16th so I was wondering if you had any locations here in AZ.
Have you tried out the HabiTent for the Prius. It’s pretty cool. I had one a few years back. Just Google it and you can check it out. Great vid! I’m in Boone often.
That park looks beautiful! In a previous video you said they didn't make your 3 qt pressure cooker anymore. I saw a 2 qt one at Walmart that is Aroma brand. Just wanted to pass that info along in case it helps someone.
Yeah I know which one you're talking about, but I'm pretty sure it's actually a rice cooker and not an actual pressure cooker, right? There's a difference, because I thought it was a pressure cooker for a long time also and almost bought it
Love your videos! Very inspiring,. I built a bed in my Vauxhall Astra estate and did a three week trip round the UK. Just wondering why you didn't sleep in the carpark where the cabin was? What was the benefit of driving to the Walmart? Or what would have been bad about staying next to the cabin?
Thank you so much. You arent allowed to park overnight in those parking lots. Also, for some strange reason i couldnt find free primitive camping in that area. And, I didnt have cell phone service and needed to get somewhere to connect to the internet
Def anpart 2 is in order! I love watching videos of the Blueridge Parkway. Do you know where the temp sensor in the ceiling is located? I might be getting you confused with someone else, were you having issues with the 12v battery that you run the inverter for cooking? sorry for all the questions.
so glad you enjoyed it. that might have been me, I just changed the 12 volt battery in my Prius because the one I had was 10 years old and sometimes it wouldn't start my Prius. I don't know where the temperature sensor is located, that would be good to know
No, I replaced my 12 volt battery and that's the old one, I'm not sure what to do with it yet because it's still appears to work because it's measuring at 12.9 volts
No I don't resell on the road but I used to have a little reselling business. You could maybe get an external storage compartment to store all your merchandise in
Hi man, how are doing, I am supporting you, and subscribed for your channel already and I am watching your videos for hours now and got questions for you, where do you go for shower, toilet every day, I like to learn something like you, I am still living in my house but next few years I will turn to 60 years old, I like to g all over the country, thanks 😊 man, I watched your videos and give you ads, no skipping that can help you expenses daily life, takecare and God blessed you and talk to you later, I am from Washington state 👋 bye-bye 🥰😍🙏🙏

Great videos btw!!
Thanks for sharing, and glad you think the vids are great. It is a bit humid in the south. Do you have the link to the pressure cooker? Is it an electric pressure cooker, or a regular pressure cooker that you put on a stove top?
@@MountainSpringsAdventures i have no idea how to share link. Heres my email simonlisalee@gmail.com If you contact me via that i can send you pix and attach a file to send it too you. Boon Dockers are boots Navy Sailors wear :-)
Love it there, I live in eastern North Carolina. I would like to what you are doing 🙂
Once you get near Asheville, we have plenty of tunnels on the BRP. Love your channel.

Love north Carolina ♥
Didn't know you're from TN. I live in Nashville, but plan to get on the road and live as a nomad soon. 😎
Right on
Really loving your videos man you have a great thing going here. Hope you keep making them!
Thank you very much, yes I do plan on making them, I just been taking a break and visiting family the past several weeks,
What a treat!!!
Maybe use some bluegrass as your background music...or the Oakridge Boys 😁
Loved the look on your dog's face 💗💗 Happy travels!
Great adventures are priceless 🙏
Always Enjoy Your Videos
Thanks
Glad you like them! and thanks for watching
Been looking at rice pot recipes. Why ? Rice pot uses
Yeah that's true. You can get an inverter at Walmart for pretty cheap, or home depot, and just use a cheap cooking appliance
Fantastic views. 👍
Many thanks
Have you figured out how to share your Google Maps camping locations yet? I'm eager to subscribe to your Patreon when you're able to add it. I'm going to be starting the Prius life on August 16th so I was wondering if you had any locations here in AZ.
I think so. I will let you know as soon as I have it ready to go
@@MountainSpringsAdventures Thanks!
Have you tried out the HabiTent for the Prius. It’s pretty cool. I had one a few years back. Just Google it and you can check it out. Great vid! I’m in Boone often.
I havent tried it but I know what you are talking about
Have you tried boondockers welcome? As far as sleeping in a residential or rural area.
No i havent. There are lots of apps i havent tried
There's a difference, because I thought it was a pressure cooker for a long time also and almost bought it
Good stuff thanks for sharing!
Thanks for watching!
11:48 the paragraph about the Native Americans' history on the land is breathtakingly short.
What do you mean it's short? Because I didn't read all of it?
Awesome video love what your doing
Glad you enjoy it!
Also I love your channel!!!
Thank you very much!
Hello.
In Cali. > starting full time in car.
What is your 2ndary power source.. for when car is off? I am reviewing your videos. Thanks for sharing.
I have lots of power banks currently as mostly everything runs off USB.
If you like Bluegrass music, please check out The Avett Brothers. They are new but we’ll worth the time.
Thanks, I will check them out!
I don't know where the temperature sensor is located, that would be good to know
I love pork and beans. I eat them.straight out the can
Thanks for sharing, question is that 12v battery a new addition? I don't remember seeing it in the past. Safe travels.
No, I replaced my 12 volt battery and that's the old one, I'm not sure what to do with it yet because it's still appears to work because it's measuring at 12.9 volts
Was watching your past videos. Do you resell on the road? I resell full time and was hoping to travel doing so. Any pointers storing inventory?
Hey thank you very much, I appreciate the support. I made a video on how I shower, it's called "10 ways to take a shower while living in your car." Basically, I shower at my gym usually. God bless
@@MountainSpringsAdventures thanks 😊
You're in my neck of the woods. how many miles have you put on your car during this journey? any regrets overall with traveling and living in your car?

Oh yeah that's the three quart instant pot, I've seen that one, they sell it at Walmart and other stores. The one I have is 2 quarts though, you can't find one that small anymore
Make a part 2!!!!
Ok I'll see, glad you enjoyed it
