The fire truck V12 engine is a spare for the 1932 Auburn, Auburn produced them under contract, as did Pierce Arrow produce for Seagraves. Got to pay for the engineers some how... Is anything for sale? YoungOldCarGuy
Hopefully some pro car collector can pick that up and restore it. Most flower cars were only 30-60 in number at the very most, and hard to tell how many of them actually survived to today, depending on the year it could be the last one in existence.
Well good on ya! Just continue with your quest ! You may not locate the exact horse you desire to place in your barn, but you sure can have one helluva lot of pleasure while searching. There are a lot of characters out there like George for you to meet and enjoy ! It is really great when they sharing in their knowledge with you. Of course there are always the usual amount of faecal heads that abound unwanted through out the territory. However it may pay off in the future if you can leave them smiling and convinced that they are one of the most intelligent beings that you have come across when it comes to their knowledge of 52 Kaiser Bathtubs (or what ever vehicle that they have taking up space in their yard or brain) Leave 'em a humorous business card of your own design and you just might get that call where the party on the other end says "Hi, this is Mr. Wonderful. You stopped by my mansion (actually a disintegrating mobile home) a while back and we chatted about my fabulous 1952 Kaiser Bathtub. You remember ? Good because I have recently come by a terminal case of poverty and now I am forced to part with the vehicle. Would you happen to still be interested ? If you still have an interest in his golden swan, it is often best not to to go quick jumping in to the pond. E-Z does it! I have been lucky enough to have acquired two vehicles is such fashion. One of the automobiles was a 49 Olds Torpedo body style and the other was a 9N Ford tractor sans motor. OK, it was not a drive in movie going form of transportation but I had one helluva lot of fun installing a 51 Merc flattie in it and parting with it for a tidy profit. Most of us gear driven knuckle heads need to be reminded from time to time that this life has been bestowed upon us in such a fashion to determine if we can take a joke ! And yes, sometimes it is a bad joke ! But twisting wrenches on older equipment seems to flatten out the road bumps we may encounter. It helps to picture a past time frame hot rod in our mind that was put together "out back" with junk yard parts (prior to their being called "Rat Rods") and 17 grand was what we paid for that first house ! Sorry, but having some one else assemble a 32 Five Window all plastic body and custom constructed frame for a mere 90 grand plus another 20 grand for a brand new 341 inch flattie is not my idea of having fun with the disposable income I do not posses. Oh well, at 72 YOA I still find a thing or two to do that keeps me out of any serious trouble with "she who must be obeyed" Here is wishing one and all nothing but the very best ! May you discover that long lost string of Zepher Gears (Or any other missing and much needed item for your current project") behind the cloths dryer or in the garage ceiling !
I know the same story. an old farmer down the road had about eight old cars three in a garage the rest rusting away outside. every year I would stop and ask if he would sell them. Answer always the same... NO.... He died a few years later. I talked to the new owners. the cars outside fell apart when the guy that bought them tryed to move them. No value there. The one susviving son sold the three as scrap at 200. I had offered way more than that to the old farmer. The son was an idiot and that was that.
+scott firman I would hesitate to say that was the case with George. He has had many other cars in the past that went to good homes (One was a Cord). I do know what you mean though, it does happen.
SO is it a wrecking yard? Is this the guys "working pile" or is he up to seling some of the stuff? And oh yeah, what did you eventually end up getting for the "project"?
+william Green hmmm well he is getting older now and the chance of him finishing the restoration are slim to none... he has to realize that soon. are a lot of them rusty that are out in the yard ?
You should realize that Martins salvage yard and George’s are two different places. As far as rust goes, Colorado is not a bad place for an old car, but, it isn’t Arizona either.
It is my belief that such sarcasm,is often born out of a desire to manipulate, with guilt or shame, implying a inferiority. If you are offering spiritual food for my conscience,... 1 Corinthians 10:29 I am referring to the other person’s conscience, not yours. For why is my freedom being judged by another’s conscience? Romans 14:4 Who art thou that judgest another man's servant? to his own master he standeth or falleth. Yea, he shall be holden up: for God is able to make him stand. Corinthians 11:31 But if we were more discerning with regard to ourselves, we would not come under such judgment. 32 Nevertheless, when we are judged in this way by the Lord, we are being disciplined so that we will not be finally condemned with the world.
There are many ways to help people, not all involve money. Most people are happy to invest their money rather than time. But an ear and a few words can often do a lot more good than worldly things or money. Not all those projects pay off or reach completion. Some are messy, some are more pleasant than others. I have been the project at times and the other way around when the need presents itself. Everyone at some point needs help. So enjoy your hobby, but don't close the door on someone who could use a little help or an ear. Don't give up on a repentant soul the holy spirit is calling and convicting. Matthew 25;37 Then shall the righteous answer him, saying, Lord, when saw we thee an hungred, and fed thee? or thirsty, and gave thee drink? 38 When saw we thee a stranger, and took thee in? or naked, and clothed thee? 39 Or when saw we thee sick, or in prison, and came unto thee? 40 And the King shall answer and say unto them, Verily I say unto you, Inasmuch as ye have done it unto one of the least of these my brethren, ye have done it unto me.
sorry can help but say, people need to earn my respect, too many liars and scammers, that includes family.you can`t change my mind.yes i would hire people to help, but if lazy would be told to get the hell out.EARN YOUR KEEP IS WHAT I SAY!
Fair enough, I can understand that. Please, at least be flexible in determining your standards. For example, I have recently had surgery to help me deal with cumulative occupational and industrial injury. Nerve pain really restricts my movement. A medicinal panacea is very elusive, it is unbelievable the junk that has been pushed on me. I became unpleasant. I am grateful to those who understood what I am dealing with, but it has not occurred without damage to some people I care for. Perhaps we can see the difference between the people we need to help and the influences of undesirable aspects of our human condition. We have those. I don't have much money, can't physically work, so if I can do anything, such as encourage, I will work at that.
Good comment or not, you need to drop it. Do a tasteful video of your own. I looked at your three videos that are a year old and have less than twenty views combined and three of them are mine. Not trying to dis’ you back, but really. You are welcome to do better with the music of your choice. By the way, would love to have the Stones version, but this what YT had to offer that is royalty free.
There is an article in the local paper, the “Greeley Tribune”, Sunday, December 20th, 2015 about a couple who purchased an old 1954 school bus from Martins and they plan to use it to live in, all 100 square feet touring for 9 months around the United States. The bus shell was mounted on a trailer and they refurbished the interior to live in. They plan to launch the venture on December 31st, 2015 out of down town Greeley. You can follow their gypsy adventure at WWW.tinybusbigadventure.com.
I thought it was a very interesting video. Someone years ago had sorted out the cars by make and model. I felt like saying, hay I want to stay and look around some more. Quit moving the camera so much. The music is from the 60s. I wonder what year the video was made. I would would think the 60s, except that the picture quality is a little bit too good for the 60s.
I shot this about 4 years ago with a digital camera that doesn’t do video very well. I had no intention of making a public video at the time, but was laid up with an injury and time on my hands and made a couple of videos just to pass time, The junkyard still looks about the same.
It is YT royalty free music from their list. Sometimes it doesn’t matter what audio plays, there is always going to be a loser who has to throw a bitch fit.
Buy something ALREADY RESTORED unless you're made out of money, and watch for con artists when they try to sell you something that WILL cost thousands to repair vital mechanical parts. Yes , I've bought a once great powerful car in it's throws of death that still ran. I've stuck with having it restored & it'll run like my highschool age muscle car dream, but will burn up the road again after thousands of dollars spent on a run to death muscle car. Not touting the power and speed of what I bought when restored; bragging is not what I'm doing. My point is, don't let your money burn a hole in your pocket, and have a reputable mechanic check it out before you buy.
+jeff Craven , I know what you mean. It is an extremely competitive industry and you can very often buy much cheaper than do it yourself or especially to fund. If you are not very familiar with the processes or don't have good experienced help or advice, it can turn into a nightmare and you won't get much for the basket case when you quit. Personally, I love basket cases because they are cheap, and if you are going to do everything anyway, why pay for a decent car? Of course you need to get a project that has something to work with so choose carefully. I have know guys that were good at finding specialty cars that are picked apart and locating the parts to complete them and selling the project to motivated and eager enthusiasts. Having fully restored a number of cars I assure you that if you are planning on doing your first restoration in your home garage, it is not nearly as easy as it looks in the TV shows where this team of guys do it a week or two. It becomes exponentially more difficult when working on your own. There will be many hidden costs and damage that slows and frustrates not to mention finding the right items to make it as authentic as possible. Be prepared to spend years laboring and spending, but the satisfaction of completing it and enjoying it will last a lifetime. It is so much easier to just buy the right car all shiny and finished. Often the owners are around at an auction to discuss detail of the car and a picture history goes a long way to authenticating the work done. The perfect turn key car is often the most desirable but auction action on a car does not always indicate the quality of a car, so it just depends on the other bidders at the moment. Do your homework ahead of time and wait for the right car and don't forget about the auction house's percentage and transportation when buying.
Love the music. I'd like to take a walk through that yard.
Awesome video. I wish there were junkyards like this here in Germany.
I could spend days in there.
I love this video
Man I could have sold you a sweet 86 Yugo, you would have to drag it out of the bottom of a lake though. Been there since 1994.
Wish there was junkyard like this near me

Is anything for sale?
YoungOldCarGuy
YoungOldCarGuy, nothing that I’m aware of. I mostly enjoyed talking with George who had many interesting car stories.
I thought the old ’58 Cad flower truck would make a very unusual rat rod. It had a bit of rust though.
Hopefully some pro car collector can pick that up and restore it. Most flower cars were only 30-60 in number at the very most, and hard to tell how many of them actually survived to today, depending on the year it could be the last one in existence.
Great!!! Your the only one who has shown on the screen, what make the cars are!!!!
Who the hell ruined the Stones classic?

wow you got so much space in americe. in germany all old cars are in a nice box form...
I love your video!
Man, that's awesome!
Where is that place? I like one of the trucks.
Nice vid, thanks for sharing.
It is called “Martins” on hwy 34 between Loveland and Greeley Colorado.
I bet having come from Las Vegas that monster must have a lot of interesting, gangster-type, history attached to it...
+gosportjamie Hadn’t thought of that, it could have. Who knows who could have been in the back of that car at one time.
william Green Yes, the back seat... Or the trunk...
I know the same story. an old farmer down the road had about eight old cars three in a garage the rest rusting away outside. every year I would stop and ask if he would sell them. I don't understand how people can just let these cars go to waste.
scott firman
scott firman we have similar story near us. maybe 100 cars...20's - 50's....sitting for decades....rat rod heaven....son wont sell anything
0:31, bullet holes?

Where is this salvage yard?
SO is it a wrecking yard? Is this the guys "working pile" or is he up to seling some of the stuff? And oh yeah, what did you eventually end up getting for the "project"?
who is the band ?
where is that place
Where dis at
so where is this place so others can visit the yard for parts or cars?
+ndspeedster I edited the video description to tell you where the salvage yard is located.
+william Green you rock... thanks... did he have a price on the auburn or its not for sale?
Thanks! As we talked, I was getting the vibe that he was not in the least motivated to sell.
I wish I could find a classic car or truck yard
The location of this salvage yard is in the description.
increíble que de este sementerioe se saquen estas joyas de autos
+Semillita Show Diamantes en bruto?
Where is this at? And can I get there info?
It is called “Martins.” It is in between Loveland and Greeley, on hwy 34 in Colorado. Yes, just sign in and pick a day that it isn’t muddy.
So whats the story? Did you get it?
And you passed by that lovely 1941 Lincoln/.///???///???/
That is cool, isn't it. I know it had a small block 302 ford engine in it.
Bastardized? I'm sure it originally sported a flathead...
Possibly even a V-12. A 302 is not exactly sacrilege though.
