Silas you wear your heart on your sleeve. You seem to be a genuine upright guy. The world needs more people like that. Wishing your channel will grow, so you can enjoy more family time.. “Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it.”

I dig through this cargo dumpster and found coins, jewelry and cash. All from around 1965 give or take. I did the same and kept it and put it away. Good finds!
Hi Silas, That 1935 one dollar bill is a Silver Certificate and should be worth something. Yes if you could contact a television station see if they might help locate the family. Enjoy all your videos.
When I worked as a ticket seller at the movie theater some kid paid with the crispest $5 bill I’d ever seen. Something about it struck me as different, but I didn’t know what. I set it aside and put my own $5 in the till. When I had a chance to look at it I saw that it was a 1963 Silver Certificate with a red stamp. I figure the reason it was so perfect was because that kid must have got into grandpa’s collection or something and he snagged it to go see a movie! 😂
You can be sure he won't do this. It's about getting stuff for free.
I bought several used storage sheds that were used for small homes. One belonged to an older gentleman who died in a wreck. I was cleaning them out and for $120,350. I bought it from the people i knew. I took it and a lot of pics back to them.. They were so happy to have the pics back. But when i gave them the money, the man's daughter almost fainted. I was so happy it helped them.
Glad u were an honest person & gave the family back the money. God bless u
He only gave them half the money back@@ramrod6279
I don’t believe that you paid $120,350.00 and I don’t believe that you gave them anything.
@@keithb6717 idgaf what you believe
It's not the strict monetary value in the trailer that makes this video fun, it's the discoveries you make and the the experience of buying a "mystery trailer". Oh well, I'd still keep onto the 14' Cragar if someone wanted it for a man cave decoration. Easy to store in the back of a truck bed outside or in a pile!

There are people out there who create junk journals. They would be very interested in some of the ephemera. Old letters, receipts, photos, stamped envelopes, and such, could be bundled and sold.
That quilt might be worth something, seems like I heard people collected them.
The photos you could post on Facebook and make it public with hopes somebody would recognize the pictures. That’s how I’ve found people I lost contact with years ago. Worth a try.
That dollar bill is a "silver certificate" , indicated by the blue seal. Worth more than a dollar. Definitely worth checking it out.
Where did u see that?
@@rochellerule8854 on the face side of the bill, to the right of the face is the seal of the US treasury . It is circular and dark green on regular bills and looks like a circle with gear teeth around the edges and has what I think is a shield in the middle. On a silver certificate bill that is blue like the one in the video. Hope that helps😊
The bill says Silver Certificate right at the top.
Yes
Just came across your video today and decided to watch it, I’m so glad I did! You are a great genuine guy who shows compassion for those pictures and the family they belong to, you don’t see many people like you in this world anymore so my hats off to you!! I will most definitely be watching more of your videos, thanks for sharing.
Imagine the shock and horror of seeing an old photo of yourself on a TH-cam channel called Adventures Made From Scratch. 😲
Thanks Silas! 🤠👍
With the $1 silver certificate and pennies in crap condition, I'd jump at taking $50, and I've been collecting coins for 60 years. Condition and rarity matter. Those have neither. The slotted mags I like, the Cragars I never liked. Someone with a little utility trailer might want the slotted mags, if you can figure out what trailers/axles have the right bolt pattern and offset to take them.
People quoting crazy high original painting prices for the prints cranked out in quantity, are crazy.
I remember when the ability to turn in silver certificate bills for silver, was ending. Google tells me the deadline was June 24, 1968.
My father had a store, and had been saving every silver certificate that landed in the cash register. Up until March, 1964, they could be exchanged for silver dollars, though I'm not sure whether most banks would do that, or you had to take them somewhere special. With a month or two left to go in 1968, my mother took them all to NYC (we lived under an hour drive from there) to convert them to silver bullion in the form of "unminted granules" of silver. Here is the procedure I found online at the US Mint to show where she must have gone:
----------------------------------------------------
To obtain silver bullion in exchange for silver certificates, a holder of certificates must present them in person (my note: by 6/24/68, don't try this now), a holder of certificates must present them in person at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York or San Francisco or at the United States Assay Office in New York or San Francisco. In the case of certificates presented to the two Federal Reserve Banks, the holders receive receipts which may be exchanged for silver bullion at the assay offices.
In its notice in the Federal Register, Treasury urged holders of certificates who want to redeem them for silver bullion to do so promptly, since the exchange period is now nearing an end. The Department also pointed out that the two Federal Reserve Banks and two Assay Offices will make exchanges only during normal working hours, and said that if many holders wait until just before the June 24 deadline the exchange facilities may not be able to handle all requests.
----------------------------------------------------
I don't remember ever seeing the silver granules, so maybe she immediately sold the silver in NYC, or just got the certificates for silver granules, and sold those certificates. Or maybe my parents found some dealer in NYC near the Assay Office who just bought the bills and dealt with all the conversion to bullion and cash themselves. It was a wild time for all coin dealers, gold/silver businesses, pawn shops, and jewelers in NYC, I am sure.
Earlier, when the copper clad 1965 quarters and dimes came out, and leading up to it, we kept all the 1964 and earlier quarters, dimes, and halves that we could, short of running the cash register dry during the coin shortage that caused. Fast forward to 1975, I took a $1000 face value bag of those silver coins we hoarded, to a coin shop, and walked out with $2890 to pay my first semester of engineering school. A bag per semester until we ran out of them and then my parents got out the checkbook for tuition, room, and board.
I still have 2 5 gallons full of 25 and 10 Canadian cents pre nickel, they were 975 silver until 1968, 1968 was 925 I think, and was the last year. I keep them mostly for my daughters. I also have few 20 french francs, that are called "napoléon" or "louis" depending on the year, it think I have around 15/20. I also have some french "écu" with old french king on them, Louis 15/14/16 and they are about the size of the old silver dollars. I don't know how they're worth exactly but it's from my family. I have 5 gold German reichmark from 1838 or 1888. Those came from my grandfather and are 20 rmark coins if I remember correctly because obviously I don't have them home.
I wouldn't sell them because I'm afraid that the ghosts of my ancestor might come to kick me during the night. Each family member added something to the collection during their lifetime.
It always a thrill to find money. Heck, I still love finding parking lot pennies!
Me too.. My husband get so mad at me. Lol. Prayers, Love and Light to you and everyone ❤
always check stamps on old envelops, never know when you'll find a rare one or collect and sell as a starter collection. thanks for sharing!
You might want to check those stamps on the envelope stuffed into the main envelopes.
1943 pennies are not copper. They're steel. And if you list too high, you just get crickets and you know to cut the price. I do that often. Auto parts though are so sporadic that you can get crickets for a year or so just until someone needs one, especially someone local. But other stuff is more consistent.
I worked for a developer and had to measure up some houses and found several with old family photos and such.
One was an old man’s house who had to go to a nursing home leaving a bunch of family photos. I felt much the same as you did here.
I'm a person that loves my family photos.
Having to go into a nursing home and have no family to give those family photos to.
That is very *VERY* sad. 😢
That dollar bill is a silver certificate
Cha-ching! Thats at least $1,000.00 (estimate)
@@argonunya6768No way is it worth a $1000? It's in bad shape.
Nice find in this trailer, the c in Franc is silent :) Some are silver, around the 50s and have some value
You can also check to see if them quilts are worth anything as well.
Nice stack of sheet wood. What is in the cans ? Wonder if a VET had his stuff stuffed there and went overseas and never came back. One can never say.
18:26 he seems to be a collector, check those stamps on those envelopes.
Hi! New subscriber. I’m finding it weird seeing all the personal stuff in a semi trailer. Really enjoying your channel!
It's absolutely true, it's sad. But ur right, about the personal belongings. I came across ur video, really enjoying it, thank you for sharing. Also, congrats, on ur findings.😊
My grandfather had that exact painting set in his home growing up I used to love them so much
Just reminds me of him
That $1.00 was also a silver certificate to increase the value even more!
Geeze it really cracks me up how things look so old from 1990 it doesn't feel like it was that long ago compared to what it looks like. If you're old enough you know what I'm saying.
This, was the first video, I watch and enjoy watching your post, thanks for another, adventure made from scratch
Let’s go, let’s go, Adventure🌺🌎🎉👵✌️🇺🇸💕
The blanket quilt wash it or havevit dry cleaned and could have a good value
Every C n D joke is hilarious especially when u didn't know anything about the CDs found 😂😂😂
You mean Jenkins. Those paintings look like the works of John Eliot Jenkins (1868-1937) A noted Texas hill country and landscape painter, from Kansas TX. His works sold at different auctions for as little as $250. But his 27×45 oil/canvas of Hotel Del Coronado. Was priced at $15,000. in 2012 at Bonhams. You should get those authenticated. Even if they're prints or lithographs. They might be worth money.
One dollar. The blue seal means silver certificate. (Beginning in 1878, their blue seals distinguished U.S. silver certificates. These notes were backed by the nation's stockpile of silver bullion and could be redeemed for their silver value. They evolved from an exchange for silver dollar coins to an exchange for actual silver bullion.) Could you frame it for a Collector worth a mint? (Issued from 1929 to date. Red Seal: United States Note, legally a promissory note. Issued from 1929 to 1971. Blue Seal: Silver Certificate, legally a bearer's receipt for silver coins (or silver bullion) on deposit with the U.S. treasurer.Jun 12, 2006.
The Patriot frames are worth more money than the paid for itself and for the quilt. That quilt is worth a lot more than the frames for the paintings. Yes, the quilts bring $500. If they're homemade. And that 1 is homemade. I can tell by the yarn. My grandmother used to make quilts just like this. She was 96 years old when she passed away in 1993. So I know these are worth money. The punch pitcher frames, especially they're old. Eighteen hundred frames and the quilt is at least a nineteen hundred quilt
This man doesn’t fear bed bugs or syringes…. 😱
You're such a good guy, you deserve to find a suitcase full of money, and DO NOT VIDEO IT LOL. I hope you hit the jackpot. Another great Vid, thank you! BTW, That dollar is a Silver Certificate and is worth something.
That quilt is probably worth a good penny... Have a great day...
As no one else mentioned it, a lot of work went into making of that quilt, if it's in condition for a wash....some value that kind of crafting
You're right about "Stuff" nothing we have can go with us when we die! But some stuff, like photos can be passed down to family so maybe they can see family members or know that at one time they were Happy. But what can u do when You don't know who the people are/were ? Cannot keep others Stuff ! Like me, I got my own Junk, that I don't want to toss out !
Robert this is a stunning pic of you and your beauties! I am looking forward to my merch. I can hardly wait to share.
Colette
YEP FIND N RETURN... WELL DONE M8...
some of the wood might be good for knife handles or more
The fact that the trailer skylights were already busted out could very well mean that someone already got to some of the contents before you.
The suitcase probably contains the rest of the matching suitcases and handbags.
The suitcase are the belongings that came from the nursing home after the individual passed away. The nursing home or relative packed it up and never looked at it.
I give my old birthday card tops to Good Will in a zip lock bag and I write for scrap booking or other crafts❤
When/if you find the family whose pics were there they are gonna watch the video and want their coins and silver certificate!
I filmed this a little while back and never did find them.
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratchI bet I can find them !!
I would look up a person or two that are linked to names you found and ask if they want any of it. Those photos might mean the world to someone that has never seen them but might have lost someone in them.
The problem is that they have very common names, and the little girl and the ex likely have different last names by now. So far no luck finding anyone.
Great video i have the same dollar bill and was giving to my wife the day she was born by her mame ma the value it is to me , they all passed on even my wife, thank you for the memory....
The tires can make a really cool fence to grow morning glories in.
The bill is a silver certificate, not sure of it's value now but it's definitely worth more than a buck!
Madness... all respect... you gotta b more responsible with your hard earned money than buying unseen n then letting it weather up... mate we know you can do better... cheers... PLEASE KEEPEM COMMIN MATE WE ARE ALL WITH YOU...
It was weathered up 20 years before I bought it. Made 30x my money on the deal
@@AdventuresMadeFromScratch Cheers mate... all the very best 2u
Don't forget you have new tires! Lol
Little fyi- a person who stores stuff like this is clearly a horder, they won't be any good paintings
DON'T FORGET THE Stamps, They Can Be Worth A BUNCH ALSO
You can do it!... Thank u 4 trying 2 find the family that those pics belong 2... Like u said; Memories. Fyi!... Just n case u dont want 2 research a bunch of hours 2 find anyone n the suitcase. One of our local tv stations here researched some pics found by a viewer & connected them back with the family. They did a broadcast of it. It was kinda of a feel good tear jerker. Just a thought! I love what u do!... Used 2 do it a little smaller scale. It was great! For some reason I used 2 find all the lost marbles. lol Good luck! Take care!
I wish I could pick up that wood. I need to build storage sheds. Maybe you did make your money back with the old money. Fingers crossed!
Clean out the trailer, tar the roof, would make great storage space for your e-bay sale items.
I loved this video....thanks for sharing!!!
I would check that 1979 penny out. The error strike might surprise you.
That old dollar is actually a silver certificate. It may have some value to it. The blue seal is a sign that its not a regular dollar
stack 4 tires fill with dirt, and plaint potatoes , when ready you go up and push tires get ur grub.
It looks like an 8 Foot wide trailer, in the 70s trailer width was allowed to be increased to 8 and 1/2 feet wide,
If you aren't successful in finding a relative, they don't necessarily need to go to the dump. People buy other peoples old picture and cards and letters. It is called ephemera, and it's a successful corner of the market!
you have enough information to track down the family. The report cards will have the school information , schools will indicate towns, records will provide names. Envelopes will have addresses... etc
Addresses from 30 years ago. The school doesn’t exist anymore, and the address on the mail has had 6 owners since then
That is a silver certificate look at the top on the front the newer ones say reserve note but they are worth money
MyPillow get yourself a new bed 😂😂the wife will 💕💕
Yes I have a set of original fifth window for the 52 chevy that you have
I did not see these words, silver certificate but the date and blue seal are usually silver certificates and are worth way more than face value.
Yes,it’s a silver certificate worth maybe 12 dollars or more
(15:07) 😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲😲 that's a Silver Dollar bill! Definitely worth more than it's face value!
Bucket of nails to scrap? 😮dang hope u wont miss them when our dollar falls! Thats 1 thing hards to just forge in any hurry and hard to get if an when
I collect coins and those coins are very common. Look at the rim on the susan b anthony. If it is a wide rim (rim is very close to the date) on the 53 Lincoln look for a doubled d mint mark, that would be a good $40 in ok condition.
Like your ol truck❤
Them 1943 pennies are supposed to be steel if they are copper you hit the big time jackpot
That 1944 penny could be a brass shell casing penny.
You can sell the tires for recycling
You might believe that,,,Huh,Where I come from,,If you Begging you Better Be Choosey. You be surprised at what people will Offer You. Like that Raggedy Bed in that trailer 😢😢😢
Make memories and not worry about the stuff 💯💯
It’s so true people get so greedy over material things and it all will go to the next person and generations we live behind will never remember us it’s just the continuation of our species that’s all it is just like we don’t even remember our great grandparents
The $1 bill is a Silver Certificate, the Fed redeemed them in the mid-60s - each paid out 1 ounce of silver, or value in $ bills and change, now worth 1$ as currency, more to collectors.
you gotta save that blanket, denim quilts are $$$
L on the lip, errors is option. Off center. 44 steal penny is a good one. A nickle magnet pics up 45 i believe.
Not sure if this is to late. The quilt that was wrapped around the pictures could be worth twice what you paid for the trailer.
That dollar is AWESOME 💯 might not be worth a whole lot but i know its worth more than $1 LOL its really cool
I thought those pictures and mirror were absolutely beautiful
patchwork can b valueable get that checked
Wonder if you could do a retro build with that floor wood?
I think the paintings are worth a good bit if there originals.
Please don't hurt spiders they are beneficial and won't bite you unless you hurt them. No need to kill them just wear gloves and be careful
I would for sure keep the bluejean quilt
Clean up the inside
trailer and let someone have it for an RV. Checking out the contents it looks as if someone may have lived in it.
🎉
An old railer for hauling swinging meat. Cool!
Save those tires for gardens people make all kinds of stuff out of them u can realy get money from them like gardening beds
All our memories and money go in the ground someday a treasure hunter will go through my things and off to the dump
MEMORY FOAM ❤
Lol, a tear from now.
Children services lies and deception in family court causes so much sadness!
Lots of mold on ceiling u should whare a mask
Hope the shoes fit 😊
