You need to lock your chains as well, wrap them around where they are connected, make sure their is no give, and with a good padlock, it doesn't stop the battery angle grinder though. All they have to do really is put a chain thru your A frame, and hook to the back of their towbar, where the chain connects and drive away. I have a wheel lock, it is the only guarantee, just don't ever lose your key.
Those chainsaw pants are a very good idea, my boss was 47 at the time and used them his whole life he ended up cutting into his thigh when he slipped, he’s fine but accidents happen even with someone as familiar with a chainsaw as he was
There is nothing better than a good dog! My lab goes with me almost everywhere.
Thanks for joining us on Scout's first of many adventures in Eddie.
Scout is a beautiful dog and you can sure tell she loves you

Add a thermoelectric generator on that stove
I think it’s really cool you think of your safety my husband is the same way. Always make sure you come home the way you left!
Absolutely!!
There’s something about watching a dog having fun in the snow that just puts a smile on your face!😁
So great to see you and Scout out with Eddie! And my wife and I thank you for your safety precautions. We were really pleased to see you tie off your ladder and lock up Eddie and your terrific safety chaps for when you are using the chainsaw. BRAVO. SAFETY FIRST INDEED!😍😍When you are out in the woods alone, for sure your family will want to have peace of mind🥰
Thank you 👍
I enjoy watching U refit your trailer and your adventures now with U and your pal Scout, stay safe,E joy your adventures😀😁✊👌👍
Thanks 👍
Scout feels safe with you and most pets that feel safe with, especially a biological living creature: Whether human, will always be loyal. I found this out at the age of seven when my mom bought me a scrounge mutt that I named Tina Marie. It's been nearly 62 years since I've seen her but boomer was a great pet for the kids. Do miss all my friends but sure they all are living with their creator. Thanks for the good memories Scout and friend.
Glad you enjoyed it 😁
Scout is the Best..love that velcro girl...she likes Eddie
The trailer is shaping up wonderfully! Scout looks like she had the time of her life. Can’t wait to see how the interior progresses since the exterior is so great.
Hello 👋 Sandra. How are you doing ? Hope you are fine. I'm Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Scout is a beautiful dog.
Love the trailer its coming along nicely. The wood stove is an awesome touch.
Thanks for taking the time to share your build and trip. Great videos and a real help to many. Thanks again.
First one of your videos I have watched. I enjoyed this so very much. I want to watch you finish your camper. Love your pup.
Hello 👋 Vickie. How are you doing ? Hope you are fine. I'm Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Admiring and envious of your trail build. I'm 75 and over 6'2" so I understand you want to stand up to put your pants on! Wood stove is a must. Enjoy!
Heat (keeping warm) and water: These are two essentials of survivability. Great thought and safety minded. Kool.
Nice fork princess!!! Bwaahaahaaa!!!
All kidding aside it was great to see you finally get out in your trailer Scott. Looks like you and Scout had a great time. Looking forward to seeing more of your adventures. Cheers.
Lol. Thanks Jim.
Cool your buddy has it's own sleeping bag to stay warm. 👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👍👼🙏
My first winter camping was in a tent trailer in the Adirondacks of NYS in Nov. during deer season. At 20 below F our boots froze to the floor and our water pail iced over. We had an unvented propane apartment heater which we didn't trust to run overnight. No one had a warm sleeping bag because we used to have a tar paper cabin with wood stove until the snow collapsed it in 1971. I grew up in a farmhouse heated by an oak wood stove. The stovepipe ran horizontally from the stove to the chimney. I saw the same arrangement in the kitchen of an old farm house we hunted out of. It was a way to extract the maximum amount of heat from the stove before exiting to the chimney. You probably don't have headroom for something like that. If you did, you would have to line the wall and ceiling with fire resistant masonite board. It would be important also to clean the pipe regularly. I'm curious how often you have to feed your stove during the night. Also it would seem more efficient to build a stainless steel counter to prepare foods on and do dishes so you still have access to your cooler. A shallow drawer would be handy for silverware and cooing utensils. A paper towel holder nearby on a wall is useful. The ironing board might be better as an eating table. In our camp we made S hooks out of wire clothes hangers to hang clothes to dry. Also handy for pots and pans. You could screw a lightweight cable the length of the wall to hook to. Wooden spring clothespins and spring metal paper clips also have similar uses. We also put down an indoor outdoor carpet to keep the floor dryer and cleaner and a boot scraper outside the door. A gazebo awning allows you to sit outside in rain or snow and enjoy the fire as well as washup outside. Also serves as a place to store firewood and extra ice chests. Even the best design can be made better.
Uts nice enjoy weather while camping that's my favorite to do when use do go camping in winter
So many memories of my late Vizsla, Taz. Nice job
Que linda persona eres, con que cariño tratas a tu hermoso perro LA NEJOR COMPAÑIA EN LA VIDA ❤❤❤❤🐕🐕🐕🐕🐕
Great job Scout! Atta girl. Dad didn’t do so bad either. ☺️ Great vid as always Scott. Forever looking forward to what lies ahead.
Great lock on the trailer, but realize a thief can still use the chains to run off with the trailer regardless of the lock. I used a heavy duty quick link on my chains so I could remove them and leave just a couple of links near the trailer. With a good lock and no chain a thief would move on a to an easier target.
Hello 👋 Dear. How are you doing ? Hope you are fine. I'm Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
I'm thinking you were referring to the lockpicking lawyer. That guy is amazing.
Great job! My idea of enjoying a camper is to do as little work as possible. Even with a decent size, ready-built camper with most "fixing", we still have about 2 hours of setup every time. Cutting back on that time is a bit of a challenge, for anyone. Would love to see you enjoy the fruits of your labor more. The more WE have, the more complicated OUR lives get and the less enjoyable. "LESS IS MORE UNLESS IT'S COFFEE". Thank you for uploading your video, and putting so much work into it. I will continue to click on your links.
Re glass: have you considered putting up a wood shelf in your cook area and screw mason jar lids to the underside so you can screw mason jars for drinking or food goods?
Hello 👋 Ruth. How are you doing ? Hope you are fine. I'm Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Beautiful campsite, and so nice to see Scout on her first Eddy adventure. Coming along just great and you will get such enjoyment from Eddy.😘
Just found your channel. I'm a dog lover too, and recently lost my Vizla/Lab mix (Radar) at age 14 1/2. My wife named him because he'd point butterflies as a puppy and his tail just vibrated. He was the best upland bird hunting dog I ever had and watching Scout's athleticism and speed reminded me of him. Your camper looks great! I hope you and Scout share many more adventures together.
Love Scout dawg
Can never be too safe, I’ve never had a broken bone or serious injury because I risk assess everything. Trailer is amazing and scout is gorgeous lovely doggo
The Lockpicking Lawyer. He makes it look realllllly easy.
Excellent video Scott. The trailer is beautiful, so is the camping spot.
Man I really love that ladder
Well looks to me like you’re in the wilderness in a bit of heaven in your camper with your best friend. INCREDIBLE
Great adventure Scott! So glad you can now have your beer in a glass. Looking forward for more. Always safety first!
Hello 👋 Elaine. How are you doing ? Hope you are fine. I'm Mark Clifford and am from Denver Colorado, Where are you from? You seem like a real country girl
Looking forward to your adventures with Eddie and Scout.
thanks.
Nice lock, but thieves have been known to just use the loose chains to pillage trailers. Nice camper! Thanks for sharing!
I have that same solar generator. I really like mine. I like your fire pit too. Very cool.
That snow looked wonderful! Happy to see Scout out!
Better safe than sorry Scott!! Great example you show. Thank you! 👍😁👍😁
You bet
nice build , i built a 6x12 with a fold up bed and a kitchen in the front . it is roomy enough to park my 3 wheel canam spyder in so i can ride when i get where i am going . one thing i did was install my safety chains with couplings so i can remove them when i park away from home . the idea is to prevent thieves from towing it with the chains hooked onto their hitch , and it does happen , anything to stop crooks , just keep the chains short .. have more fun..
Nice to see you using the trailer even though it's not complete ,I bet Scout likes it more room to move around. 🙂🇨🇦👍
Thanks you shared your fantastic journey with us.👍🇫🇮
I always love how organized you are when camping. I like how you mounted your heater, and a standing counter. My goal is a SCAMP camper and I will look in your description for those two locks. Love Scout as always. Enjoyed the video!
Yes you must get a bone handled knife and fork suitable for a Viking or a Klingon and you should drink your beer out of a one gallon tankard!😎👍
Really liking the build so far, I hope you put a million miles on it.
Haha scout launching into the trailer cracked me up
Safety is a good priority, especially working alone in isolation. I love my Dewalt saw, still have gas saws, but the battery is my new favorite.
Very beautiful 👍👍
Thank you! Cheers!
A very cool man cave on wheels. I am jelouse!! Enjoy. 😁👍
Great video, and WHAT A PROJECT!!!
Glad you like it!
You have made very nice camper enjoying your videos
Seems like your scout enjoys the Eddie! Looking forward to seeing more adventures of you and your fur baby! ❤️
I like what you did here!
Świetny stary pies.
Great video Scott, what a perfect site you found. Trailer is looking great and love you put in a wood stove.
Thanks 👍
I binge watch the series from start to this point last night. You are doing an enviable job. Congratulations.
I can appreciate your interest in security because this is a passion project. Recouping $$ is not enough.
What about adding a "secret" wiring cut-off (remote or physical) for the exterior lighting so if someone did hook it up, the lack of brake/lighting might be a signal to the police/someone?
I have now subscribed too.....back to this video.....
Wow, thank you!
I love your belt and braces approach to everything. Hello from Scotland 🏴
Thanks 👍
Nice spot buddy! It is always great seeing Scout in the bush. The slo-mo of her jumping out of Eddie was a nice editing touch. Your music choices in the sound track added some great feel to the video. I think you may have a future with this stuff!
That is so cool!! I'm going to watch your build cause I want something similar to this. Just for me and my dog, tks for doing these videos.
Awesome! Thank you!
Awesome so far. Peace.
Fantastically captured surroundings, impressive editing skills too. Simply enjoyable content.
Good video buddy! I want you to know you are the FIRST and ONLY person i have seen on countless videos that had enough sense to take a few minutes to put chainsaw chaps on! I have cut countless trees in my life and i wont get a chainsaw out without my chaps! I learned the hard way but at the time chaps was hard to find now you xan get them easy. But round 97 i was going a tree for a friend and my big saw when i i went to start cutting caught a little bitty vine no bigger than my little finger kicked the saw back right across my left leg half way between my knee and hip perfectly in the middle of my mucle and went to the bone and you could see my bone. ONLY by GODs sweet Grace HE didnt let hit my bone and cut my leg off! It took 3 layers of stitches, 45, to get it closed up. The docs and nurses were amazed i got the bleeding to stop and they told me that the MAJORITY of all chainsaw cuts the people DONT make not cause of the cut itself but because they bleed to death before they can get medical help!!! Majority of all chainsaw accidents are a long ways from hospitals like i was out in the woods etc. So im thankful you took the time to put this in your video! Folks please take this very serious cause its NO joke!!! Ive watched countless videos of overlanders and 4x4s on trails that have to clear a trail to keep going and many cutting up firewood for camp and where they are at especialy overlanders one littlebitty vine or something could cost you your life but if not especially ruin yours and others dayS!! Sorry im so long but if it will save one person its worth it! Oh yeah if you could see my poor old chaps now and see all the cuts on them that along would get your attention cause if i didnt have chaps on all them cuts on my chaps would be my legs! Take care my friend! HAPPY TRAILS!!!
That's a great trailer
That's a great lock. It's the same one we have on our fifth wheel. Someone did try to cut it off while we were boondocking. They used a dewalt circular saw as well as a dewalt sawzall. (Spelling??) The reason I know what was used is we pulled up on them and they left their battery operated tools behind. They hadn't made a scratch on the lock. They took off ( there were 4 of them) in a truck almost identical to ours. So they left empty handed and we received 2 almost new tools. That lock saved our vacation and a lot of money, so good choice.
I use plastic utensils at home. Takeout food usually gives them to us and one way or the other they will find a trash can, so why not use them? We don't actually purchase them, just to be clear. Hope you and Scout had a wonderful trip.
It's a shame we even have to lock up our trailers. Thank Irene.
Great lock for a heavy trailer, honestly if someone truly wanted to partake themselves of a light trailer, it’s a couple of chains around the hitch, lift it up with a winch and off they go. Best lock in my opinion is a wheel/hub lock. Can’t take it if it won’t roll.
I’ve truly enjoyed watching the build and progress 😊
Looking forward to more!
Looking good. Essentials in your trailer will change as you live with them, at least they have at my off-grid cabin. Good video. 👍
Very cool trailer you should get a set of chains for hard to get places for that trailer for those nutso level roads
Great video, love the progress! Scout is adorable, lots of energy!
Canada my dream camping area...
This is my first time watching your channel. Nice video. Just subscribed and I'll go back and watch older videos as they seem interesting. Stay warm 💕
Congratulations to Scout! Well done Scott.
thank you
Love the build out so far, another great vid as well. I've been hesitating on building out my own 7 x10 utility camp trailer, but now have a better idea of what I need to do thanks to you! I was originally going to do a 6' tall "teardrop on steroids" type of camper, but like you I am not especially keen on having to stoop over constantly so it will be a similar to yours, full-box type. Looking forward to more vids, be safe!
thank you
This was very amazing..... I honestly believe you could build a house or anything for that matter congratulations job well done
Thank you so much!
A wheel boot similar to the ones the n.y.c. ticket division uses, will keep the guy with a tow truck from simply lifting the tongue and driving off.
Anxious for this, you did a nice job on it
Thank you.
A Big shout out whistle bark to your dog. I do that every time I see someone walk a dog. Or when they bark at me.
I have a vizsla called Remi, i bet she'd love a trip like this :). Shoutout to your sugar face doggo.
Enjoyed the video. On the look out for the next ;-) take care.
Like my friend, big hug direct to Rio de Jnaeiro - Brasil
Nice setup. One thing . You should lower your stove down about a foot. Your feet and legs will get cold
Lockpicking lawyer! I base all of my lock buying off his videos too lol
Nice set up. More adventures to come I'm sure.
I think that the rv copilot stop light dont work…. But Great job👌👌
Yup!!!!
When burning wood pine creates sap you have to burn hotter wood like Cedartown clear the chimney. As far as you can saw how d I you charge it
That stove is cute but I think a winnerwell brand would have been better.takes longer logs, dont have to feed as often.cute tho
Awesome video! I started to follow you and watch your videos few weeks ago and I really admire your work!
Greetings from Poland!
Love the whole build , planning on one this summer and your security worry is one i have been thinking about and i saw one video where the fellow made his tongue ? on the trailer removable .Just a larger tube that slipped over the exsisting and when he parked he pulled it off , two pins held it in place ..........kinda where i will go for security
Great idea with the tongue lock, but I would like to add please consider making your safety chains removable. I have heard stories of trailer thieves hooking the chains and stealing the trailer that way. I don't know how they do it I don't have the mind of a thief. I do love the lock and wish it had been available when I purchased my Proven Industries lock. I like my lock but it's quite cumbersome and you have to lie on the ground to access the key tumbler when removing the lock. I'm not as flexible as I once was! 😅
Get a toaster oven, that way you can make pizza's and other baked goods and aren't limited to just sliced bread.
I know it sounds crazy but toast bread or bagels on paper towel on the woodstove! It won't catch fire and works great.
It's a darn shame that after all the work you put into building your trailer, a thief will steal it. I think you're very smart wearing the chaps. Keep living your dream. Cute dog.
Scout needs a winter jacket
Excellent video 👍👍👍👍👍
Thank you 👍
Check out Truck House Life and his truck camper build. I forget the brand of his wood stove it aint cheap either but it has a longer burn time than the cubic. He also has a webasto diesel heater for times when a fire isnt practical
Looking good. You should get some mud flaps on the F150.
In a fire pit you can burn everything. In closed spaces you got to chose your wood at times
