    What's your favorite part of our renovation? And the REAL question... what do you think of all white walls and cabinets? 😅

      Wonderful work and great inspiration! We have a 2019 recreation by design fifth wheel with five slides. We are currently looking into some renovations ourselves as we live in it full-time stationary on property that we bought. Just an off thought question where is your accent from?

    To fix your table place painters tape right on the edge of both sides of the crack. Get a good wood glue fill in the crack with the glue place something on the floor to catch glue that presses out. Use at least 3 bar clamp and tighten let sit for at least 24 hours. When using the clamps be sure to use some scrap wood on both sides of the table between your table and clamp. After the glue is squeezing out both sides take a damp sponge wipe off the extra glue. You may have to scrape and sand little bit and refinish table if necessary. Good luck, I hope this will help you. Just a little info: I am a former master cabinet maker. I have built and repaired many cabinets. I also contributed my skills in building cabinets for Bob Vila, and Bret Farv. Again I hope this will help you get your table back in shape.

    Absolutely love the reno! The white makes it bright and airy imo, which I would opt for. I’m thinking of going this route. Just came to get inspo. I thoroughly enjoyed watching!

    The white looks great - really gives it a bright, wide-open feeling. If and when you have little ones with dirty little fingers from playing outside, you might want to rethink all the white, but it's great for just the two of you.

    The ottoman idea is genius!

    For the table, if you wanted to, you could try sanding down the top and putting wood filler on the crack. Then finishing it with poly and/or stain. Also, love the rv! I also have a border collie :) everyone always thinks he's an Australian Sheppard. Such similar looking breeds I get. Do y'all get that too?

    Congrats on a good purchase and a nice remodel. What a coincidence, we found a $15k RV too - a 1999 National Tropical Class A that we live in FT. You guys did a great job with your remodel. Ours was a more basic remodel, but we also upgraded it with a 620w liftable solar array with 560ah of LiFePo-4 batteries, recliners, 55" UHD TV, custom built entertainment center, mechanical repairs, bathroom and bedroom modernization, etc. And we're not finished yet, as we're planning a big 48v solar/battery mini-split upgrade soon too for 24/7 off grid AC and heat - as we boondock most of the time.

    • @wildrvlife
      @wildrvlife  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That sounds awesome!! I wish I could figure out a good place to mount a mini split. They are so much more efficient. Let us know how it turns out!

    The renovation looks great. We never use our stereo in the fifth wheel either. Love the white and butcher block together. It honestly makes it look more like a residential kitchen. The “backlash” looks great😂. The storage steps was genius. Keep the vids coming. Y’all’s channel is taking off and rightfully so. You guys are fun to watch. Safe travels and God bless!!

    About to remodel a 40’ 5th wheel I bought new in 2007. Have lived in it full time since. NOT looking forward to the floors. 🤣. Your rv looks great, glad you guys are getting to enjoy life at your age.

      The floors were toooo bad, but definitely a tedious job 😅 and nothing is square in an RV 🤣

    Can I make a suggestion, you do quality videos and really think it would help your channel grow if you started collaborating with other youtubers. I understand why you did this video but to be honest most people this is not a video I would watch but your personalities make it more enjoyable. Plus I always use the phrase 'home on wheels' to me that describes it perfectly. We travel smaller, 21C Escape molded fiberglass trailer, we hope when we start doing longer trips it works for us, I'm convinced it will. Plastic hangers take up more space then old fashion metal. Enjoy the road and smooth travels.

    As it’s a 2014, how has the RV’s mechanical parts held up? The reno looks great and we may end up with an older TV when we buy next January but the mechanical aspect worries me. How have the slides, electrical circuits, propane lines, plumbing held up? Did you also replace anything “behind the scenes? The superficial stuff like paint & furnishings I can handle without issue, it’s what make s it run and hold together that concerns me.
    Not a fan of all white for practical (keeping clean) purposes but I sure like the look it gives! For the painted glass, pieces of cardboard or thin tin would protect the paint now. I really like how those look, there must be a solution that would prevent the chipping. Possibly, a polyurethane coating?
    Good work & the peppers are beautiful!

    • @wildrvlife
      @wildrvlife  ปีที่แล้ว

      We’ve had major issues with two of our slides, a back wall coming off due to poor workmanship and lot of other things we’ve had to repair. However, I’ve heard of newer ones that have nearly just as many issues and older ones that have had way less. But, it definitely looks a lot prettier than it is “structurally” sound 😅

    HI guys. I know this is an older video, but looking at getting older rig that needs work. How did you do the slide floors where at the edges? Looks like the one was a flush floor but the other? I see people say it is difficult at the edges. Thank you. Safe Travels.

    Love your renovation! We‘re moving to the US at the end of next year and plan to do exactly the same. Could you tell us how much the whole renovation has approximately cost you? Would be great to know for our budgeting :)

    It looks very nice now but I have to be honest, RV’s aren’t like homes they are vehicles. When modified they lose their value, and for me I love the original look, but I like the darker more traditional decor, so I’m sure for you guys the brighter is better.

    • @wildrvlife
      @wildrvlife  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That is one reason why we wanted to buy and older used one to make look like we wanted, because it would have been hard to justify spending the money on a new one and then changing everything 😅 and for sure! We’ve all got different tastes, just personal preference 🙂

    • @James-ss7gy
      @James-ss7gy ปีที่แล้ว +5

      They lose value regardless, and they especially lose value when they're used under full-time status.
      I'd personally pay more for one that was full-time lived in and maintained/updated than any of the junk rolling out of the factory for the past 4 years.
