Mitsubishi hasn't been doing so well in the enthusiast market in recent years. With the Mitusubishi Evo gone at least for now - the Evo and Eclipse always seemed to overlook one car in their lineup that rarely gets talked about. This is a Mitsubishi Starion that was LS swapped and built as a tribute car to his best friend who was in a tragic accident. I hope you all enjoy this video and thank you for stopping by!

What an amazing story about Mikey and Tanner.
I'm getting my car reviewed by this man if it kills me. I mean I got awhile left in my life but still life goals to get a build reviewed
It's looks kinda old school Supra...
Why all the hate on Conquest. Same car different badges.
Maaaaan if you had a Conquest in that electric blue back in the day, you were the shizznittobamsnipsnap.
One of the besr looking mitsubihis ever and looks kinda fc fb rx-7 and a bit of an a70,a60 supra
The starion has such typical, yet unique 80s styling. The Slab shape, pop ups and rear hatch are all there, yet the car still stands out.
The LS actually sounds perfect in this car
Finally the Mitsubishi Starion/Chrysler conquest is finally getting more recognition
So clean!!! Nice
The first year they came out, there were 6 in Colorado. We owned one of those six. My wasband came home with a turbo Starion out of the blue one day. He paid well over sticker price to get it. Car payments of $400 were a lot back in the early 80s. Turbo was a new thing and I have to say that it was a pleasure to drive in the mountains. The digital speedometer pegged at 85 and sometimes, over a pass, I'd look down and see 85, so wondered how fast i was actually going. Biggest complaint? It was invisible. I can't tell you how many times I dodged a near accident when someone didn't see me. Low profile? Coming in second, spinning out on ice. The wheels would hit ice and spin; the turbo seemed to think I wanted to go faster and kick in, not a great thing with rear wheel drive. The good news? Spin outs are fun once you survive. It was black and made quite an impression at the time.
You're wrong about the Starion being a collaboration between Chrysler and Mitsubishi. Mitsubishi solely built the Starion/Conquest, it was only rebadged once it got imported to the U.S.. The Starquest was never apart of Diamond Star Motors which is why it's not considered a DSM. It's kind of in this weird gray area in the beginning of the their relationship. the only reason there is a conquest is because of import laws so that mitsubishi could sell more cars in the U.S..
I have a 87 conquest tsi. These cars were ahead of their time.
Very impressive build! I really like when the engine bay looks that good.
My dream car when I was a kid. I remember riding my bike to the local Chrysler dealership back in 1988 just to look at the widebody Tsi’s. Never did get to own one 😞
Car is still beautiful. I drove one back in the 80s. Lots of fun.
The Starion is underrated
That’s pretty cool that Mikey made this a tribute build to the old owner!! I like the plaque he made and put on the intake. That’s really cool man!! All in all this is a super cool car! I’d like to see the 1JZ Starion as well.
My First car was a 1983 Mitsubishi Starion Turbo, Manual, it was no V8 but damn it was fun at 16, slapping through gears!
Had an 87 station (loaded) from 94-96. Absolutely love that car. Ran into power and depression problems, I was told at the time I blew an engine cylinder , looking back it probably just needed some turbo repair. I was young and listened to possible flawed diagnosis.
