- This spring, I upgraded the stock seat on my Honda Rebel to a Corbin Gunfighter seat. It's expensive, but is it worth the money? Let's talk about the pros and cons!

Question: I am 5’0 tall and was unsure if I should get the seat. I was wondering if it makes the seat height higher? I tend to seat forward due to my reach and risk not able to flat foot the motorcycle.
I suspect that if you're okay on the stock seat, you'd also be okay on this one. I didn't notice much of a difference in seat height. But then I'm 6' tall, so I might simply not have noticed if the seat height went up a bit. 🤷♂ Best advice I can offer is to see if maybe there's a dealership in your area that has one equipped on a Rebel so you can give it a quick test on the showroom floor before sinking your money into it.
Have you tried the Mustang seat in comparison to the Corbin?
I never tried the Mustang myself but I heard good things about it from other Rebel owners. Personally, I like the look of the Corbin much better, but it's all subjective of course.
There seems to be a lot of people complaining about Corbin seats scratching the paint on the fender and seat bracket. Did this happen to yours?
You know, I've heard those complaints, particularly about the Rebel 1100, but I can't say I ever noticed any damage on my bike from it. I traded in my Rebel last month so I can't go take the seat off and take a good look for damage anymore.
@@LernenundFahren ah. That's a shame. Why did you trade it away?
@@craevhergames I really loved that Rebel, I rode it for five years. But I felt the need for a bit more speed: th-cam.com/video/7KZrTzPRr-Y/w-d-xo.html
Good review of the Corbin saddle. Did you opt for the heated version?
I didn't even know there was a heated version, that's great. Mine is unheated, but I don't ride in winter, so maybe not a big loss for me.
Do you by chance have experience with a passenger on this seat?
I mean, it might work in a pinch, if you're not going very far, but I don't think I'd recommend it for passengers. Better to think of this as a single-seater.
Does this seat push you towards the handlebars a bit? I'm looking for a seat that does.
No, the seating position is about the same. The riser on the back does give you a bit more support, but I don't think you'll be any closer to the handlebars.
@@LernenundFahren Thanks. Do you know of any aftermarket seats that do this or any handlebars that swoop back further than the stock?
@@andrebennington7936 I've heard that the Mustang seat moves you forward by about 3/4 of an inch (not much, but something), and you can almost certainly get handlebar risers for the Rebel that would move the handlebars up and back a little. I don't have experience with this myself, but you could head to a motorcycle shop and see what they could recommend for you. Good luck!
Does it scratch up the bike when taking off the seat?
I've heard reports from other people about that happening, but I never took the Corbin off my Rebel after installing it, so I dunno. I traded in that bike a while back so I can't check it now 😃
What about the passenger seat? Is it any better than the original one?
I wouldn't recommend the Corbin for carrying a passenger, certainly not on longer rides. Might be okay if you're not going far. If you're going to be riding 2up often, you might be better sticking with the stock seat.
1 - never trust a sponsored guy, especially not a YT
2 - form one's own opinion
3 - always tell yourself it's your money, not his
I've never been sponsored by anyone. I personally find the Corbin seat far better than the stock seat, after having tried both on long rides.
I have this seat. Still hurts my butt.
What’s the website
I've added a link in the video description.
Good seat, eh???
Yeah, I really like it. Would never go back to that stock seat after riding on this one.
