Surprised you didn't mention Kal'tsit's leitmotif appearing in A Walk in the Dust's lobby theme, that's probably the most prominent example of using leitmotifs outside of the seaborn's song
Its kinda hard for Arknights to establish proper leimotifs, when they hire completely different freelancer composers for almost every non in-stage song
Another one is the IS2 Blood Diamond fight using a faster, more intense version of Phantom Crimson Solitaire Lobby Theme There's also one of the early game battle themes that gets a slowed down, more dramatic version for the Chapter 8 Tundra Flashback stages I believe Patriot also gets an alternate battle theme that takes inspiration from his original fight theme in a Chapter 7 H Stage
Uwu, another Arknights video that isn't just another gameplay, xknights, "should you roll," banner pulling, and actually talking about one of the most overlooked aspect of the IP despite being well known - the music. But a special one, which are its featured leitmotifs. Although I do have a question, whether the OSTs associated with characters, events, or even stage themes, actually "fit" with one another in general. F'ing based that you liked What the Firelight Casts, cause I also do, it left my a big gaping hole in my heart.
i dunno if it counts, but chapter 12's normal battle themes have snippets of damazti cluster's boss themes on it--a tune at 震破嗚咽's (i'm using the official? names for the songs) 28 second mark and 1:22 mark is very similar to the very start of the boss theme(also see 血中之淚's 28 second mark and 1:28, which goes a bit differently but is similar nonetheless)(there's probably more parts like these but it's gonna be a bit too long) i haven't read chapter 12 so i have no idea what happens in there but the damazti's theme being somewhat present in every chapter 12 level really gives a bit of fear--which comes to a great conclusion as all those loud ass motifs come together in the boss theme anyways, great video!

I feel like there are a few very notable leitmotifs: the bgm in the story. A lot of these are established in the early main/side stories, with some coming from battle themes from the early main story chapters. These include but aren't limited to: darkness02, newhope01, escape, calamity, chasing, longmenbar (names sourced from playlist uploaded by NoireSama). Each of the aforementioned ost are reused multiple times to represent different types of scenes, calm, relaxed, tense, fighting, sad, suspenseful. These themes, however, usually goes unnoticed as these are leitmotifs representing ideas, not characters (and because a lot of players don't read the story). IMO the only truly established character leitmotifs are the themes representing the AUS band, and Emperor, as these are used only in reference to these characters, and nowhere else. A non-exclusive character leitmotif is longmenmarketplace, which throughout ch9 is used as the leitmotif for Outcast, but it's imperfect as it is occasionally used elsewhere.
Renegades beat actually is in her new theme. Its not there for the entire thing, but you can hear it pretty distinctly. Around 1 minute in ish. Its being played over the top of the other music. Edit)Wait nevermind I was thinking you were talking about a different song.
Idk, I think Tomialter is gonna cause some serious balancing problems. Every event here on is gonna be like twice as hard because the devs know you can bring her as a support and have both the best guard AND the second best core caster on your team (still can't beat ol' Eyjafjalla).
There's another good one with Ejya's song "Miss you" which talks about Ejya's confidence in herself and when one day she may not be able to remember her parents faces
There are more leitmofits that are quite promient like Amiya's, it started with wraithful cerulean flames and was carried over to.....*spoiler . . . . . . . . to the CH14 ost called succession, representing the evolution of Amiya and adopting Theresa ideals.
Damn. I was actually just listening to the first part of the video while I was making coffee, and it was scary for me, who had 3h of sleep after a bd party, when I came back from the kitchen with precious coffee and baam, 7:09, there is some AK auto play on the screen, almost spilled some :D
I can't believe I never find or sub to this channel. a very well done video CN Spoiler Here: ........... ........... ........... ........... ............ ............ ............ ........... all gone? ---------------------------------------- Wiš'adel is the name Theresa Give to W, fullfilling her promise she made to W in Darknight memorir The name itself means wishing for a home in Sarkaz language, and symbolizel what Wis'adel is gonna do as the inheritor of Theresa's wishes for Sarkaz, instead of "W", a mercenary's name, and ending a repeating cycle of violence.
For the record this was made before I gave the Absolved Seekers OST a thorough listen. In fact quite a few other commentors point out ones I've missed (at least the ones who didn't mix up leitmotifs with EPs because in post I realize I didn't actually explain what a leitmotif was and just assumed people understood)
@@asadekai one more i came across, a variation of Rosmontis' leitmotif from her EP "Confront", seems to be present in "Neo - Vector" one of the tracks in the CN Vector Breakthrough event OST.
That was actually one of the things I wanted to mention that got cut out due to time. From what I heard, it's something called a variation in production. In other words, it's kinda sorta the same song, and I would have put it in honorable mentions.
I need someone to tell me I'm not going insane. Is Crystallized, (kinda Rosmontis EP) used in shatterpoint_2? Like there's no real relation, which is why it stands out to me.
The thing that I found is that sometimes, the leitmotif is not on the scale of a song- If we connect the whole music sequence consisting of various themes in one story segment, then the inclusion of one particular theme can be seen as a greater leitmotif (I am totally just rambling here and this is nothing from learned knowledge). But I remember hearing the Song of Fools from Stultifera Navis during Iberian segments in Path of Life, that definitely rings a bell. Whenever I think of leitmotifs I think of the LotR soundtrack, especially the catchy Rohan theme. I guess it is more difficult in Arknights as music is done by different individuals and there might have been copyright issues if not done right?
It's going to sound disappointing, but frankly I don't have an answer yet. A lot of what I've learned is simply built up over time. I started out by messing around with walfas back in 2016 when flash was around. In regards to Arknights, this channel is a little too new for me to say I've gotten it polished well enough to be giving any meaningful advice. If there's 1 piece of advice pertaining to my own style, it's being literal. Eblana/Reed playing a trumpet/flute when I want you to pay attention to the trumpet/flute, using THE THEME dramatically when I'm dramatically intoducing THE THEME, Tomimi Alter opening her eyes looking straight into the camera when I say 'you,' or cutting my sentence off because I intentionally want you to listen to the music in the Specter Alter segment. If you want more practical advice, think of your video like a play: Everything needs to appear and disappear somehow, so try to make all of that happen naturally. If you're introducing something, having it slide in draws attention to it. If you're switching scenes, a crossfade is an easy natural way to go from 1 to 2. Hardcuts are for when you need something to switch quickly. Knowing all of that, try to not use the same type of entrance/exit too many times in a row unless you have a specific reason for it.
Thank you for the advice. You may think it's minor stuff, but it really did make me watch the whole video. Also, did not know W got another banger of a song. So amazing analysis work!

sorry I meant good video
