    I am into trains. My step dad isnt. But he is so nice. When i come back from trainspotting he always asks me how i am. He is interesting though, he was never really hugged or shown physical love for by his family. Just a few minutes ago he bought me something i really really like. I want to hug him and tell him a million thank yous. But like i said, he wasnt shown real physicall love from his family. So all i can do is a handshake and say thank you. I love him so much. But i cant show it. I feel like thank yous go in one ear and out the other. Do you think he knows how much appriciation i have for him? I cant express my true feelings of gratitude. But i want to.

    • @AdrianaGirdler
      @AdrianaGirdler  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      How wonderful that you have a step dad who is so supportive of you and obviously loves you. You have been showing gratitude to him by saying thank you and giving him a handshake. Don't discount those actions. The key to gratitude is did it resonate with the person you are grateful to? If you want to show appreciation, perhaps show interest in something he loves to do. Last, if you want to give him a hug, ask him if it is ok to hug him. Just remember it will be his choice to say yes or no and whatever the answer, it will be a reflection on his own ability to accept the hug or not. A lot of people who have a difficult time with expressing physical touch (hugs) usually were not brought up that way so it may feel foreign to them. Just love people where they are at....no need to change them. Change your expectations, see all the positive aspects and you will have peace in your heart. Cheers!
