For a much better Result you wanna apply this over a 2k clear gloss black surface. and after mutiple passes of graphite - wash it off - graphite over and over. you wanna use another 2k clear over the graphite. it wont dull it and you have a mirror like chrome finish.
@@VaderDadBuilds no problem! i have a replica of the master sword from zelda that ive been meaning to finish but i could never find a tutorial on that graphite stuff. how do you think this will work on matte colors? im hoping to make a flat blue kind of metallic looking.
I suggest testing with the plastic spoons first. You don't want a finish over your hard work that you don't like. It would be interesting to see what different colors under the graphite.
That looks very metallic indeed. I wonder if the graphite coating makes the surface fully conductive to allow for electro-chemical deposition of real metal on the surface.
You're right, LOL I just looked at the can again. I have used both the smoke and coastal. Must have been the smoke in the video. Both will work. I have not used the charcoal.
That is Soo cool.. thank you. I'm making a custom Star wars / bounty hunter costume and this tutorial was so helpful.
I'm glad it will help. Thank you for watching!

Wow, this is great! I just bought graphit powder and I will test this out.

Great question! Maybe I'll need to try that in a future video.
Would this work on already painted plastic?
You can try starting with the clear coat step to get the graphite to stick.
I sprayed clear and it faded instantly, any suggestions?
Awesome video! I will definitely try it! Which mandalorian helmet model are you using?
I bought that helmet before I started 3D printing. I will be doing videos of updating all my armor and will be providing all the free STLs I use.
@@VaderDadBuilds thanks!!
what printer you use ? looking so smooth!
Thank you, and thanks for watching! I printed these with an Ender 3 Max Neo.
I wonder if this would work with mica powders for nails to get other colors?
Great question! I thought the same thing myself when I was working on these. I haven't had a chance to test it out, but I'll let you know once I do.
What brand of gray spray paint did you use and what was the clear coat that you used?
I used rust-oleum with the 5 in 1 spray nozzle for both.
@@VaderDadBuildswhich color did you use ?
Charcoal gray
Smoke gray
Coastal gray
??
I used Coastal Gray for these
@@VaderDadBuilds strange in the video I see the spray can saying Gloss and coast gray only come in Satin

Great Work! We'd love to offer you some parts, like 3DP or CNC machining if you might need them in the upcoming content. (PCBWayDaisy)
