The biggest new feature of the Amazon Fire HD 10 2023 is that it supports a pen now. You can use it with the same stylus that works with the Amazon Fire Max 11 or with any other pen that supports USI 2 technology.
Besides that, not much has changed with the tablet. We still get a rugged design, a 10-inch fullHD display, good enough hardware, and no Google Play Store. Its biggest feature continues to be its cheap price.

I just got mine and I love it. Having both, iPad Pro and Samsung Ultra, I am shocked how light it is. The cheap build and low cost means that I won't be as paranoid about damaging it. I bought it specifically for reading books; Alexa assisted reading is one of the best features.
I actually like the plastic construction. Its lighter and tougher and grippier. I just dont like fireOS.
FireOS is just fine.

@@mikerodgers7620 If you haven't picked one up yet. You absolutely should, already easy as hell to sideload Android Google Store Apps and they are hardy being able to withstand hard drops and impact punishment.
Plus you can always trade the older models for their newest for decent discount and damn do they constantly go on sale so no need to pay full MSRP.
Whatever others say, Fire Tablets are the best Ultra Low Budget Tabs.
these devices are a serious bargain for what you get especially if you get them on sale. the new model is much faster than the 11th gen i had, plus the stylus support is an amazing feature. very few tablets at this price point have pen support. the only bad thing about these tablets is the ugly fire os, but with fire toolbox its pretty easy to install the playstore and replace the launcher. i use launcher hijack with smart launcher and its great. i could see this being a great budget replacement for the ipad. specs arent phenomenal but they arent bad either. most games ive played run just fine with a few frame drops here and there which you could probably mitigate in the game settings. great tablet for the price you pay. i use mine more than my surface pro and i find the small form factor to be very comfortable to use for drawing and handwritten notes. if you want to do intensive gaming it might not be the best choice, but for watching movies, drawing/taking notes, browsing the web/social media, and other light tasks its a great choice. reading is great on this tablet as well bc of its very nice ips display. a lot of tablets at this price point have tft displays which can cause eyestrain especially when reading. really glad i decided to make this purchase when it was on sale for 89 usd.
i have the fire max 11 with the optional keyboard its a mini laptop and looks and works great for me
Very nice review. There is very little I hate more than Amazon's UI and app store. Bought one kindle fire 2 years ago, never again.
Agreed...mine are turned off, reset and in sequence...being sold or traded in...even samsung offers 100£ for 'any tablet'...im a samsung gal thru and thru...have 5 tablets! Amazon stinks

No no no. Pin locked the earlier hd10 plus model for security as i was away on holiday. When i returned....pin code wouldnt unlock. Amazon, when contacted, wouldnt help....had to reset the tablet..and lost EVERYTHING.......will trade in for a samsung. I will NEVER buy..(.i imagine the pen is also total rubbish) this garbage again 😢😢😢😢😢😢

I'm not impressed by any Amazon hardware, including the Kindle.
I don’t like Amazon tablets (and Amazon devices in general) either, but the Kindles are in an entirely different league. I’ve been using Kindle Paperwhites since 2019 and nowadays couldn’t do without one. :)
I have the 2023 Kindle. I enjoy it, but it is slow.
@@ljacobs357 I’ve only ever had Kindle Paperwhite and haven’t noticed any particular slowness (aside from what you expect in that kind of devices), but I suppose the basic models are kinda slow especially when full.

Meh I'd rather have pen support with a bit slower processor tbh. Lower end processors are good enough for everything, even some gaming, nowadays and a pen just gives you a whole new way to interact with the tablet, which is perfect for certain tasks
