Only use it for media consumption when traveling because I don’t like taking my iPad on trips because it was so expensive and don’t wanna risk loosing or damaging it. Adding the Google store is super simple takes less than 15 mins.
I bought me a HD 8 2 years ago, and I still am rocking with it. If I was to follow reviewers about Amazon tablets being under powered I would have missed out on how awesome Amazon experience is. I upgraded to no ads, and side loaded the playstore. It's been stellar from ever since just the same. Camera is crappy, but, add more light, you would be pleasantly surprised. I definitely love the design of the HD 11, and glad it has a more powerful CPU. Waiting for holiday sale or special discounts, cause I would definitely rock the HD 11.

Most people that buy it are not looking for an iPad. They pick it up when Amazon has special offers. Without trade-in, That's $149, $229. It's mainly a device for consuming content , and its great for those tied into Amazon's ecosystem. It's a beautiful redesign: sleek, with a better build quality, beautiful screen. Sound is pretty. As for the headphone jack, Amazon, was just following the trend. An adapter is quite affordable. No we shouldn't have to do that. But other technology is is abandoning the head jack in favor of just one USB-C jack. Anyway, most people get a lot of bang for their buck, because Amazon tablets can be used for a very long time.

I got this for my mom - she just wants to watch show on a tablet and maybe use tiktok - and she LOVES this tablet. I got her the keyboard and the pen that goes with it too and she uses it for recipes and notes as well. the screen looks really great, the tablet is slim, as are the bezels. This is a solid product and it comes at a really great price.
One huge omission in this review: Amazon will support this tablet for a minimum of 6 years of end to end software/security updates. You won't find this with any other android OEM at this price point.
"support" can be put in quotes. It's mainly just Amazon updating their system apps (e.g. Amazon, Prime Video, Amazon Music, etc) and then patching or breaking ways people install custom roms or install stuff like the Google Play Store on their devices.
@@rslashteenagers devs must also keep their apps working on Amazon devices for a minimum of four years, after a device is last sold on Amazon in “brand new” condition. So, the minimum support length is 6 years guaranteed and this extends beyond amazons own apps.
Those updates are forced though, and they often come with additional software that you don't want and/or can't uninstall. I'm going with Walmart's Onn tablet next time.

In my experience, aside from the out of the box update, you’re not going to get much support past the launch of the device and 6 months out. I’d actually recommend a Samsung A9 or a Lenovo over an ONN. They’re the same price, if not cheaper, with far better performance and software support.
I have The 2021 Fire HD 10 that I am really happy with. I side loaded Google app and removed the apps and purchased a memory card that made my tablet experience much nicer. I really am thinking about upgrading. I like how ir comes with 128 and that it is made of aluminum. Thank you so much for your video that is very informative😊
I don't think it's a huge upgrade from the previous version, especially coming from a Fire HD10 plus. But I picked one up and I think overall it's an improvement.
I just bought the 10 (13 gen), and a lot of what you say here holds true for the 10. I say it is basically a Kindle with add-ons. As a Kindle reader it is better than the Paperwhite for less money. It is just the right size for reading. The Amazon App Store offerings suck however. I sideloaded the google play store and loaded apps that I had already paid for from the Play Store that Amazon doesn't have. The main reason I bought a Fire was that it is the only device that Amazon allows to have text-to-speech functionality. With the size of the screen it is great for sharing pictures that I have taken on my S22 Ultra. (screen on the phone is too small, and PC's are too immobile.) Just so long as you accept that these aren't I-pads (or even budget Samsungs) you should be happy. (I got mine for less than $100 which is a great deal)
my current tablet is literally a fire 7, it's very small, very laggy, and has just barely over 5gb of storage in total, with over 2gb of that being system apps???? so looking at this IN COMPARISON, it's an absolute dream and would be incredible. but also I'm definitely getting a mid range samsung tablet when I get around to upgrading 😭😭
I've been wanting one of the 11's . I have a perfectly good 8 tho . not sure I would like not being able to plug in the ear buds. my blue tooth seems more hassle to me .

I got it for $70, took advantage of prime day for $149 plus I had a $30 gift card plus $10 credit from Amazon and sold my 10 inch fire tablet to a coworker for $50
The math is actually correct if you think of the $50 from selling the old device like a trade in discount. Did this person actually obtain the device on Prime for $70. No. But, the $40 in discounts plus the money received for selling the older fire tablet equals $90. 149 x 1.06 = 157.94 Let's just round that up to $160 160 - 90 = 70

Paid $110 on black friday week.How can you beat that.Installed google play store with all their apps.I have had a Samsung S7 plus and S8 Ultra.Of course it doesnt compete with those,and isnt meant to.I dont use one enough to justify the $700 price tag of the others,thats why I sold them.
They need this crammed in an 8.8 inch tablet. My mediapad is cracked and the only dope small tablet is the Lenovo legion which I'd need to import. Decisions decisions.
Please do a bit more research before doing reviews the included wall plug is only 9 watts and it competes with Lemovod mid to ange tablet it even copied the design. It's significantly more powerful than low end Samsung's.
I just wish Amazon would offer the option to give consumers 2 different versions of The fire tablet. One with fire OS and the other with full Android. I personally don't like the OS on the fire tablet
I never liked the Amazon tablets, they are terrible, I rather save up money and buy something much better, not a big fan of apple so I got a tab s8 plus, well worth the money, I had to save for a few months but I'm glad I did
Amazon offers an alternstive to owning an Apple IPad which is ridiculously expensive and most computer users only do net shopping watching TH-cam paying bills online which this Amazon tablet is perfect. My caveat about this tablet is just way too heavy for a 17oz. tablet in comparison to a Fire Tablet 7 which is basically weighs nothing....

Amazon has their own separate OS still with their own App Store, Kindle Store, etc. You can install the Google Play store *secretly* but yeah, a Samsung tablet is better
@@TechDaily I like the Amazon tablets for my kids. They have a good amount of games that are educational and fun for them. Then, I switch over to the adult sign in and use it for Kindle and other media. It's honestly not bad for those purposes IMO.
I mean, you really can't do better at it's price range unless you opt for Chinese tablets. Considering you haven't haven't reviewed any other Fire tablets (or other budget-oriented tech) it makes sense why your perspective is a bit skewed.

Just received mines yesterday with the Stylus pen combo. Its good! but I still pick my iPad 9th Gen over this tablet.

Paid $110 on black friday week.How can you beat that.Installed google play store with all their apps.I have had a Samsung S7 plus and S8 Ultra.Of course it doesnt compete with those,and isnt meant to.I dont use one enough to justify the $700 price tag of the others,thats why I sold them.
The Fire Max 11 is a great device by Amazon standards, but just okay compared to all other tablets in its price range.

All Amazon Fire tablets are half price on Black Friday or on Prime Day. No one pays $229 for one.
Please do a bit more research before doing reviews the included wall plug is only 9 watts and it competes with Lemovod mid to ange tablet it even copied the design. It's significantly more powerful than low end Samsung's.
I just wish Amazon would offer the option to give consumers 2 different versions of The fire tablet. One with fire OS and the other with full Android. I personally don't like the OS on the fire tablet
I never liked the Amazon tablets, they are terrible, I rather save up money and buy something much better, not a big fan of apple so I got a tab s8 plus, well worth the money, I had to save for a few months but I'm glad I did

Amazon offers an alternstive to owning an Apple IPad which is ridiculously expensive and most computer users only do net shopping watching TH-cam paying bills online which this Amazon tablet is perfect. My caveat about this tablet is just way too heavy for a 17oz. tablet in comparison to a Fire Tablet 7 which is basically weighs nothing....
No headphone out? WTF? Even older and cheaper Amazon tablets had that.
Most devices seem to be phasing that out. But there are USBC headphones that plug into the charging port.
@@Me-wk3ix I went with Lenovo Tab M11 - cheaper, still has the headphone out, comes with stylus and you don't have to mess around installing Play Store. Amazon's tablets are no longer best value for money, unfortunately.

I will never again buy a Amazon tablet. It doesn't have Google services. I switched to a Samsung Galaxy tablet and I'm so glad I did.
You can side load Google services, just as an FYI. But yeah I prefer Galaxy tabs, too.
Amazon has their own separate OS still with their own App Store, Kindle Store, etc. You can install the Google Play store *secretly* but yeah, a Samsung tablet is better
@@TechDaily I like the Amazon tablets for my kids. They have a good amount of games that are educational and fun for them. Then, I switch over to the adult sign in and use it for Kindle and other media. It's honestly not bad for those purposes IMO.
I mean, you really can't do better at it's price range unless you opt for Chinese tablets. Considering you haven't haven't reviewed any other Fire tablets (or other budget-oriented tech) it makes sense why your perspective is a bit skewed.

Google play sotr is shady and Google steals your oney though, they refise to refund for apps that do not deliver what they promise, they let apps stay up when the developer disappears and there is on way to ger your money back, also google has been both deliberatley and accidentally destroying the internet for th epast 12 years
