- After thinking about this for the last year or so... we've decided to move. Maybe we'll be back one day but we found a house near family that we'll be moving into in a few weeks! It'll be an adjustment but excited for the changes!

Congratulations on your new home! As a New Yorker, I understand your sadness about leaving NYC, but it’s important for children to develop that bond with extended family. Looking forward to seeing new decor videos in your new home.
This is the most beautiful house! I can't wait to watch you turn it into home. Growing up in Eastern Europe in the 90's, my dad was telling me that those type of houses we see in American movies are not real. They were just a fake movie set. Imagine my surprice when I moved in the states...

As a fellow Southerner who lived in NYC for years and left when my kiddo was two, I so relate to the transition you’re undergoing! But I promise, as soon as you see him playing in the yard, it’ll all feel worth it! As he grows, you’ll be able to offer him independence and a kind of childhood that he would never have in the city.

As an individual that lived for years of my Life in BOTH New York City and Florida for a multitude of years , I wholeheartedly concur with you Shelby on every sentiment you so openly and vulnerably expounded upon pertaining to each location. I am now comfortably ensconced in a cozy, warm, inviting 1945 Colonial Revival with shutters on the windows as I had dreamed of since I was a little girl and I now have the loveliness of an existence among all four seasons! I and as I suspect an innumerable amount of your viewers have been so deeply enamored with all that you so creatively did to bring your family's New York apartment to breathtaking, aesthetically-wondrous Life. I can truly say that most of us will remain with you along the journey of decorating your new Home. Thank you for inspiring us and inviting us into your visions and manifestations of what a Home can be. Even though your days as an NYC resident are dwindling, I fervently hope that they will nonetheless, remain utterly MAGICAL for you all. 🖤
We moved 1 1/2 years ago to a much quieter older neighborhood in another city. No traffic, less people. It was amazing. Large trees, people love to garden & take care of the lawns, walk their dogs, much more courteous people. It’s like going back in time. You will love it and forget about the noise, rush of people and traffic soon. It’s amazing. Congratulations! 🎉
EDIT: I didn’t mean to sound snooty about FL! I love FL and have family there and know it’s a BEAUTIFUL place. I just meant I couldn’t live without 4 seasons!

We can really feel the emotion in your voice 🥹 As a true Parisian girl I can't picture myself anywhere else than in a big city, but raising kids there is just crazy ! Also, don't minimize the effect of moving on your mental health, take care of yourself 🥰
I discovered you on Instagram, last Christmas, after hearing some really great jazz playing as you shared your apartment. I was hooked! I look at your journey and time goes by so quickly. I’m 64 now, children are grown and all except one are out of state. I remember our move from Ohio to Alabama and how magical it was walking into our newly built farmhouse style home. January 1st 1999, the time has slipped away. Having family nearby while raising your young family is important. I’ve been back in Ohio for 22 years now, where did the time go. Thanks for sharing your beautiful home and taking us along! Have so much fun!! Merry Christmas!
What a BEAUTIFUL home! It is lovely as it is and will only get more so once you put your stamp on it! I watch a lot of interior decorating content on TH-cam and you are definitely my favorite! I am so happy for you and your family . The pros are going to far outweigh the cons.

I love your apartment! You have done wonders to it. Creating character, warmth and elegance and a lot of love in every corner. It's sad for me as the viewer but I'm also excited for you. I know how hard these decisions can be but family and your children are everything. We are all staying put for the ride and I can't wait to see the transformation!!

Happy you are moving to a beautiful house with a lot more space & nature around it. You made your NYC apartment beautiful, but despite this effort, it will never be as beautiful as that stunning NC house. Congrats!
