@@waelhussien6528 why would you even consider upgrading from a 5 month old phone? And yeah the S21 needs an update in portrait mode. They're too soft and blurry and I think it's cause they're using digital zoom from the main lens instead of the 3x optical zoom. Easy fix with an update I hope.

Year later coming from the s line to the note 20. Plus I am obviously not buying a new camera either. I will be taking a battery pack around with me.
@@stevecristian6932 I use it for art. The Note is definitely necessary for me.
Micro SD means all media can be separated from the system, which is invaluable if you need to reset the device or move to a new one, it's not just about increasing storage capacity. Also the Note has integrated housing for the S Pen which is a massive advantage.
You can still use a micro SD card if you get an external reader and connect via USB. Also cloud storage is a viable option.
I agree a lack of SD card support is a huge bummer and has always been something i appreciated on my phones, but I'd say it's not the end of the world.
And yeah the built in pen housing on the note is tops
@@alittlesnag it' can't be called progression to have to use an external reader! Also I would always use FHD+ even if I had the option for QHD for the superior battery life and the fact I can't tell a difference.

Honestly to me storage doesn't matter because I update everything to my Google photos anyways everyday when I'm done if I take pictures so there's never not enough storage LOL that's really funny

I got the N20 Ultra last month. I'm glad I did because I definitely need a SD card slot. Plus you get a charger with the S pen.

The FP scanner was horrendous
The boxy design looks so much cooler. If you watch a TH-cam video on the round corner like s21 in portrait mode, the top corners of the video will get cut off/or curved so it looks weird

Great comparison! I'm keeping my Note 20 Ultra. I love the form factor. I just prefer the design and the larger screen. The camera does not seem that different to me between the two, except for the bigger zoom and macro ability of the wide angle lens. It's just a beautiful phone and I won't be upgrading for a few years unless something really revolutionary comes out.

I haven't really had my note20 ultra long but I'm happy with it and happy with the cameras on it think I'm going to hold out another year with it and maybe switch on the next flagship

No SD means the beginning of the end of Samsung's hold on me all the things that used to separate them from Apple are almost gone so why bother.
Well if the selling point are the cameras 📷 we do need SD cards to move videos fast from the phone to the laptop for editing , uploading 4k or 8k video to the cloud is not a fun experience 🤔

I just wanted to ask though if possible could you let us know where you got your Snapdragon Note from?
You also dont mention price as a difference but overall I can see with a quick google search you can pick up the Note20 for £779 for the Hong Kong Snapdragon version with 256GB. Cheapest snapdragon version of the s21 ultra is £915...that's about a 15% gap in price...would you still say it was worth this gap now?

Mannn, I just ordered a note 20 ultra, fell in love with it, and my wife wanted the note, so I decided to order the s21, and just couldn't feel it the same way. No SD card killed it for me. Long story short, told my wife I'm sending it back and get her a note 20 ultra.
It would be great to see a comparison between the cameras of the S21 and S21 Ultra to see how much of a difference the improved sensors make as both should have similar image processing.

I've had the Note 1,2,3,4,8,9 and now the 10+ (best phone yet!) Wanted to get the Note 20 Ultra 512G in Germany, they've been sold out for many months - So I ordered the S21 Ultra instead - not sure if I will regret it . . . kinda like the squared corners better from the Note series - will see what happens. Also, the uncertainty whether there will really be a Note 21 Ultra coming this year . . . Sad to see the SD Card gone as well . . . not sure they are thinking!
@@swarajrajegore6897 nah its the news is true. there might be a n21 but itll be the last if there is one. Sales have been low for the note series. It isnt worth them making it anymore and they will focus more of their efforts on the fold series now. this is obviously not official but i can almost guarantee it

Sd card was a huge dealbreak for me, went with 20 for storage of things like emulator roms and being able to transfer big gaming apps like genshin impact.

I'm still pretty happy with my normal S9... how would it be to have one of those? 🤔 eventhough the S21 seems to have more improvements compared to the note 20 ultra, I would still pick the note 20 ultra over the S21 just because of the S pen, sure, the S21 now supports it but it's just not the same 👍🏻.... I think it's too late to say this but hope Samsung would keep the note family 👍🏻👍🏻

@thetechchap did you have any issues with the way your note20u display was calibrated? I sent mine back because the whites were really grey/greenish, colours were washed out but the worst thing was how yellow skin tones looked. I ordered the s21u and hoping its better
I bought my first note (Note 20 Ultra 512gb) in October and have loved it since day one. I've used it quite a lot for university and already wrote a few essays on it, as well as for photography/editing. No regrets whatsoever, except for not making the switch years ago.

The camera bump on the note 20 ultra looks just so ridiculus massive compared to the one from the s21 ultra although the module got bigger. A really good example how a designchange has such a huge impact. Well done Samsung!

Yes thank you, I needed this review! Although I have 128gb SD card to swap out when I get new galaxy phones, I rarely max out internal or SD card storage, and the 256gb is not that much more $$. So def will upgrade to S21 ultra. 🙌

S series cant replace note. Note is our own lige,because of s pen integration, first of all.

I just got my mystic white Note 20 Ultra last week for $750! It's a great time to pick one up used. Definitely going to hold onto it especially since this may be the last line of the Note series and last Samsung phone to have the SD slot.
I like having the option of a microSD Card slot. Additionally, i use the MST technology for payments quite a bit since several places still surprisingly don’t use NFC payments yet. Note 20 Ultra for me thought the S21 Ultra is a fine offering in its own right.
The Note 20 ultra in Mystic Bronze looks more PREMIUM then that new black brick

You bring up very good points in favor of the S21U over the Note. I got my N20U in November for $600 w/my trade in. I guess I just prefer the squared off edges of the Note line. However I do like the matte glass back and new camera module design. Absolutely a worthwhile upgrade if you prefer the S line.
One thing no reviewers mention is the fact that the S21 series do not support MST. (magnetic secure transmission) that means Samsung Pay will only work with NFC, and not with the older traditional payment card systems. It doesnt bother me cos I never use these type of payment systems, but it could be a real issue for some people.

Fr that camera is a disgrace. Note20Ultra's is so refined and polished yet keeps a natural appearance. This and the lack of SD card expansion has really pushed me to debating getting the Note instead... i just really want that 888 chip though. Not sure what to do
@@eros2144 i didn't see any problems with that camera. And even if there was, the phone is still running on pre software while the Note 20 ultra has been out for months is stable. If you have any other phone apart from these two phones and you want to upgrade, the better choice the s21 ultra unless you want the spen then I would wait for the note 21 ultra. The s21 ultra is just better, better battery, better cameras ( once it's stable), better chipset, 120Hz at 1440p. Its just better.
@@kawanulukama414 honestly the only reason i still want to get the S21 Ultra is for the 888chip and faster 5G connectivity. So far battery comparisons are more or less the same despite the S21Ultra having a larger cell...
but ive seen a lot of camera comparisons and S21Ultra's rendering of people just looks really bad. And like classic samsung bad. Elongated heads 😔. Note20 finally broke that trend and got on par with iPhones and i was hoping S21Ultra would follow suit with that. Again that, and no SD expansion anymore is kinda pushing me towards Note

Having been forced to sell my Pro 12 max, I'll be thinking of looking at the Note 20 Ultra, bigger internal hard drive and able to expand the memory. But a big one for me is the S Pen, I use OS Maps to plan my walks and find the S Pen a usable tool to plan a walk compared to using my finger.

7:40 is interesting. The S21 ultra camera looks very sandy. In general, I liked the innovations of the S21 camera, especially the UI. There is almost nothing I don't like except contrast. It is a very nice device. Note 21 I believe this will be an improved version. I want to own a Note device again after a long Google use. Thak you Tom.
