Also, I've found that all of the homework assignments for both Gastronomy and Funny Business can fit into a 5x5 square room. If designed this way, the same template can be used for both with whatever isn't needed for homework left out until it is needed as long as you can initially afford the room. I've also found that all of the homework assignments, and in fact one of every academic item period, can fit in a 6x6 room. So, if you're planning on pairing Gastronomy with Scientography, that room can be built and the unneeded items sold.
For that matter, the same idea works for the Computer Lab. One of everything can comfortably fit into a 4x4 room for Internet History. The rest can fit into a 4x4, even with duplicates being used.
Thanks Pinstar. Been looking for this one as I wondering why I couldn't find the stage when attempting to do your student union build. Finally figured out it was an unlock at 1 star on the Piazza Lanatra level.
Gastronomy is a good course, but I don't use it very often. That's because most of the time, I prefer Scientography. They're both 3 year courses and have the same cost to level up, but Scientography's an Easy course so you'll get a bit more money (in the form of XP bonuses) from it, and higher grades as well. Plus, Scientography only requires one specialist room (Science Lab) compared to 3 with Gastronomy (Savory Kitchen, Sweet Kitchen and Science Lab). That said, Gastronomy has one unique event type - the Cook Off. I don't think these events are as good as some others, but it can be nice in the early game when you're still scrambling to earn Kudosh.
Hey Pinstar, quick question : when you say "ideal class size" between 16 or 24, doesnt it conytadict the rule of 8? Please explain how it works. Thank you for your videos!
The rule of 8 is that no classroom can host more than 8 students at a time, and therefore a class size needs to be divisible by 8 to maximize usage. 16 and 24 are both divisible by 8 so it fits the rule just fine.
Great video! Is there a particular reason that you just built a recipe station in the Sweet Kitchen beyond the reasons that you gave? Just because it's cheap and for the prestige?
He probably placed the recipe station for student to be efficient during class. All classes contain 8 students. I believe the class machine holds 4, 3 for the sinks, and one left. Could also be another station, but maybe he found out more assignments use the recipe station. But I’m not sure…

This is my favorite course

Can you pair Gastronomy with Archaeology since they both use the Science Lab? Or does that just shift the wasted space problem to the computer lab?
Yes and yes.
They both only use it one time. 3 classes of each perfectly use the Science Lab, but gives you 3 leftover Computer Lab slots.
It does create another issue with the computer room, but you can certainly have the two share the science lab part.
